This forum is for those who wish to earn their house more housepoints, but there are a few rules that need to be adheared to otherwise you might spend a lot of time and effort for nothing!

1. You can extend upon a lesson that is going on within Hogwarts Experience (in the classes), for example - if there is a class on dragons, you might wish to write an essay upon your favourite dragon etc! Essays which have no relevance to classes of the time will not be awarded any housepoints!

2. The essays MUST be researched. You can not simply write an essay on your views without research to back it up!

3. The essays must be at least 300 words

4. Dont forget to cite your sources and no copying/pasting

please start a new thread for your essays and not post it in here as it makes it easier for me to see what ones i have marked etc

Unfortunately the essays are only based on classes so the character essays are unfortunately not allowed. Also, with regards to the classes being closed - If the class has only just closed then an essay is ok for that, but if it has been closed longer than two days, I will have to say no.

This is to keep order within the librarry otherwise essays could flood in from all over the place.

In Care of Magical Creatures, there is a topic, Create Your Own Magical Creature, can I do an essay on my Magical Creature? Please. Because I really haven't done any other class. I am trying to do [i]Defense Against the Dark Arts[i/] but it's confusing. I am going to try to try again. But can I do an essay on my Magical Creature? ::badcomp::

Sure you can. You can do an essay on any class which is open, though it can not be a straight copy from your class and it has to be 300 words or over

Just pick a topic that is being covered currently in one of the classes and write to your hearts content! Just post it in this forum when you're done.

since we can 'branch out' of a class subject and write an essay about a similar topic..

does the OWL or the Challenge Chamber count as classes too?

or just the regular: potions, charms, DADA, etc.
