Free Graphics Programs

I know a lot of people only have MS Paint on their computers, so here are a couple of the free graphics programs that I know of. I've tried the GIMP, and it's pretty good, but I've not yet tried paint.net.

Both programs are free to download and I've been told work as well as PSP.

But before I take up space on my computer with Gimp, how different is it? Does it still have the functions of PSP (layers, brushes, etc.)?

To be honest, I've never used it because I have PSP, but it looks pretty much the same. There are layers and brushes, that I know, and I think the DA has some GIMP tutorials.

I think it's probably like any other graphics program - confusing until you get to know it.

I use GIMP a lot. It works pretty well.

gah gimp is REALLY confusing me...*sigh*...I finally get used to one program and then I need to teach myself another...I think maybe I'll use a combination of programs, using the easiest features from each one

OK, I've now tried out both The GIMP and paint.net and I have to say if you're going to get one of them, get paint.net. It's a lot less confusing than GIMP, and has a lot of features.

Don't get put off by the name, it's way more advanced than MS Paint. I'm still playing around with it and it seems to work pretty well.

it's not as advanced as gimp, but I always have PhotoFiltre open. It works pretty well.

I just need a 30 day free trial of somthing wat do you guys suggest????

I just downloaded paint.net.. XD and as I've never used a graphics program before, I will wait for the weekend until attempting to decode it XD Any tips?

My computer didnt support paint.net, so i downloaded The Gimp but I reallllllly dont understand it. Can anyone help?

The Gimp is really good... took a while to download, and get the hang of. But it was my FIRST graphic program.... you should get the gimp, in my opinion.

I dont know of any free animation programs....
I had to uninstall The Gimp because it took up so much space... my computer had ) mb of free space left :/ so no graphics program for now.....

I use a graphics program called 'Photofiltre'. It's a french thing, but it downloads in english.

I used to use that, but my dad said it was screwing up his myspace and made me get rid of it....
