The Wedding

A discussion we were having in the Weasley Club thread led me to opening this post. We were talking about Weasley relatives that might attend the wedding, and why there would be a wedding in the first place, and this led me to think a little bit deeper about it.

On the Weasley Club thread, Jessie (OUTxxWITHxxAxxBANG) said that JKR wouldn't throw a wedding in just for the heck of it, and I agree. Especially when we know the book is going to be dark - and the title just confirms this. "Deathly Hallows" seems to be very oxymoronic when you consider the book is likely to open with a wedding - what should be a joyous and happy occasion.

This brings us to Weasley relatives who might attend the wedding - and I immediately thought of Aunt Muriel. If you remember rightly - she has a goblin-made tiara she wants Fleur to wear.

Now this is where my suspicious mind kicks in - JKR likes to lay trails for us, so could the tiara be important? Why go to the trouble of mentioning it otherwise? Why tell us its origins if it's not important? Goblin-made indicates to me that it's old and valuable. Perhaps we could be looking at a Horcrux in the tiara, and that is why the wedding is important?

Or could the wedding simply be a slightly lighter and fluffier way to start off a darker book? Will there be an attack at the wedding? Or is it simply a plot device to get Harry and Ginny back together? :devil:

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

I don't know, I think fanfics have skewed my judgement a bit on this, but I think Auntie Muriel's tiara used to be a Ravenclaw artifact. And there will be an attack to retrieve it because Voldemort needs to keep his horcruxes safe...

Well, I know alot of people think that the Wedding will be attacked, and honestly I hope not, but while i was typing this I realized that if is a horcrux, how will anyone be able to get near it, As we know frmo the ring, it would probably do something really bad, like kil Flure? or Molly? I don't want that to happen but it's just a theory. And another thing, if the tiara is a horcrux, how come it isnt in hiding? Home come its in the posseision of a blood-traitor?

Well, this made me think hard. And after reading what Katie said about the Horcrux i think the Tiara may not be one. I believe that the wedding will be just a way of aking the book so much easier. And i expect it to be a small gathering with fleurs parents and sister, the Weasleys and their freinds and Aunt Muriel me thinks.

If i remember correctly JK said she wasnt bringin anymore important charecters into the story soooooooooo me wonders if because Aunt Murial has been mentioned previoulsy she may be of some importance in someway, remember Molly is a Prewitt, is this her aunt or Arther's? It'll be interesting to see.

well aunt Muriel is the first name not the last so it doesnt make much diffrence. And I agree that Auntie M. wont be a major charecotr.

I've also heard of the theory that there will be an attack at the wedding but personally, I think and veery much hope it will be realtively peaceful. After all, at least the begining of the book should be a bit lighter, don't you think? And JK will probably want to save the big fight for the end. But I also don't think Harry and Ginny are going to use the wedding to get together again - it's way to soon. Nevertheless, I'm not sure about how they will behave towards each other - they will either not talk to each other at all or pretend nothing has happend....

Aunt Muriel: honestly, this is the first time I'm ever confronted with the idea that she might be appear in DH. I always thought she was just some kind of strange mentioned aunt.. just for the sake of giving Ron an aunt...

i think maybe the tiara might be a Horcrux. Maybe aunt Muriel is a deatheater and they dont know. AFter all all purebloods are related in some way so the weasleys are realted to deatheaters. It would not surpris eme if this happens

i think that it will just be a nice opening i mean it cant be all dark and scary we need some happy times in the book and i think the wedding might be just one of them times it also might be the place where ron and hermione finally get together.
