| Alrighty, this is my essay. The original idea came from the Care of Magical Creatures Assignment about dragons. (elfie, i couldn't figure out how to 'edit' my original essay, so i had to re post it. also, my sources and the picture were on this when I first submited it, i don't know where they went though. I hope i didn't mess anything up) The Common Welsh Green: Wales’s Dragon of Green The Common Welsh Green is a native dragon to Wales. This dragon may be known as ‘common’, but it is actually quite unique. The Common Welsh Green prefers to makes its home in the higher mountainous area. Around the mountains, the dragons are able to catch sheep to feed on. While it is common for dragons to eat sheep, living in the mountains is quite strange for the Common Welsh Green. The Welsh Green is also one of the few dragons to scare away from humans. The appearance for the Common Welsh Green is pretty self-explanatory. As you might have guessed, this dragon is green. The flames of a Common Welsh Green are like narrow jets of fire, which stream through the nose. The eggs of this dragon are usually brown, speckled with various types of green. This helps to camouflage the baby dragon. The Common Welsh Green was the star of the wizarding world in 1932, when one of the dragons flew over a favorite muggle vacationing spot. Luckily, a group of visiting wizards preformed innumerable amounts of memory charms and were able to solve the problem. Still, the Welsh Green gave the wizarding world a scare so great, and they decided something had to be done to prohibit a reoccurrence of the incident. Many dragons protections centers were form to help keep tabs on all dragons and their whereabouts incase there was any trouble. The Common Welsh Green also made world-wide news when it was used in the Triwizard Tournament at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Fleur Delacour fought the Welsh Green in the first task. Compared to other dragons, the Welsh Green does not have any sought-after characteristics. Its hide is simple and its eggs aren’t very special. Overall, the Common Welsh Green is a pretty tame dragon. Unlike the Hungarian Horntail, the Welsh Green will only be harmful if given a reason to do so. Even so, it is no recommended to approach one casually. The Welsh Green is a symbol for the European world, though. Wizards all over the world have heard of it, and even a few muggles, though the Ministry of Magic is working on that. So next time you see a Welsh Green, don’t hurt it, because the dragon obsessed peoples would kill you.
