| Part 1:1. The animal she could turn into was a Bird 2. she was King Arthur’s half sister 3. Queen of Avalon 4. she was also a healer 5. she was the antagonist of Arthur, a fairy, and a powerful sorceress 6. while there are many stories as to why she did what she did she is always seeking revenge, at Arthur’s cost. If it was because she was mad at his wife, who betrayed him, or if the story says he had killed one of her lovers, they always depict her as vindictive. Interest in her died in the late Medieval Period, however, and she rarely ever appeared in Arthurian Legends of that time. In the 20th century literature she was revived to be the mother of Mordred, whose father was Arthur, and who eventually killed him. Morgans father was Gorlois, Duke of Cornwall, while her half brother Arthur was fathered by Uther Pandragon, their mother Igraine’s second husband. She is often described as envious and ugly, and together with her son made the plan to get rid of him. Part 2:Morgan Le Fay was a very troubled character, torn between the life as a sroceress and the life as one of the nine healing sisters of Avalon. She was by no means one of the “good guys”, meaning, in every legend she is depicted as simply bad. Although I think that throughout her life Morgan had to live through many dangers and the knowledge that she was not a real part of the family, even as a child. Arthut was the one who would be king one day, he was the important one, and Morgan, having no father, had to suffer from it. I think maybe the lack of love given to her during her childhood is very much responsible for her emotional coldness later on. Because of Arthur she had to suffer all this. So it must seem to natural to her, that through getting rid of Arthur she might finally get what she deserved. I do not say her actions were right, there were not, in any way, but I think form her point of view she had a point in being angry at him. She seriously lacked a conscience, and a feeling to what was right and not, and I think that is also a sign she has been neglected severely as a child, so her parents failed to teach her the proper morals and ethics of the time. Although we have to remember those times were different and vendetta was not very uncommon in those days, I think going as far as first secuding and then plotting to kill your own brother is a little far fetched. Her character to me seems to be similar to many in the old Greek tragedies, where often protagonists are involved in those things concerning their families. All in all Morgan was through and through bad, though not necessarily through her fault, and maybe if her parents had taken better care of her and had not placed her brother so high above her (I think it would be very overweening to demand the parents to make her equal, as in those times the daughters were never equal to the sons, no matter how intact the family was) she might have turned out to be a very helpful member of Arthur’s family, as she was very intelligent, and surely could have adviced young Arthur in many things while he was growing up. bonus: Source: http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizards/card_wizards.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morgan_le_Fay |

| Morgan le Fay appeared on the famous chocolate frog cards. She was renowned for being able to transfigure herself into an animal. What was this animal? (2) a bird 2. Whose half sister was Morgan, or Morgana as she was sometimes known? (2) King Arthur's half sister 3. Which island was said that Morgan was queen of? (2) She was queen of the island of Avalon 4. Morgan had many great skills. Apart from being able to transfigure herself into an animal, name one other skill she possessed! (2) She had the great skills of a healer. 5. Through many folk tales, Morgan is depicted in many different images. Name three images other than a queen! (3) She was shown as a healer, a sorceress, and merlin's enemy and also a fairy. 6. What does history tell of Morgans personality? (4) History tells of her life and why she does the things she does. She is shown as an evil and ruthless sorceress that just does whatever she can to ruin Arthur and other people's lives. Part 2: I don't believe all the facts about her are injustice. The folklores and myths all show her as an evil sorceress, when in truth she was a real person who had problems in her life. She was in love with Guinevere's cousin, Guiomar and was having an affair with him when Guinevere put a stop to it. In her mind, she may have thought Guinevere caused all the trouble in her life. That thoght may have been childish but thats what she thought at the time, and that was part of her reason for doing the things that she did. Mosy of the things that she did, although she did harm other people, was because of this spite and hatred that she had inside of her because of what Guinevere did. In a way, I pity her for feeling that way and feeling that the only way she could solve her problems was to cause other problems for others. | 1. A raven 2. King Arthur 3. Ruler of Avalon (aka Isle of Apples; Fortunate Isle) 4. Healer (a fay) 5. (i) a fairy (faery) (ii) enchantress/sorceress (iii) incestuous relationship with Arthur! (yeah – who was Mordred’s real mother?) 6. She was a jealous woman… She was revengeful towards Arthur because he had brought about the death of her lover – but this jealousy was tempered by her incestuous love for him. Though she appeared antagonistic towards him during his life, she was effectively his guardian in the afterlife. This jealously seems to have ruled her life. Part 2 Morgan le Fay (that is such a cool name!) presents a very interesting character - a positive jewel for literary manipulation as her psyche seems to contain classic elements of conflict brought about by her love/hate relationship with Arthur. There is no doubt that she was a strong female personality – so I would probably have got on pretty well with her! – and evidently a skilled practitioner of the magical arts, both dark and light. In the classic manner, she presents the portrays a personality who, after a lifetime of dedicated evil, eventually turns towards the light… However, leopards don’t change their spots that easily – especially the big powerful ones – and I tend to believe that either she wasn’t quite the villainess she was made out to be in her earlier life, or her appearance of ‘goodness’ later on was an impression she wanted to give for her own agenda. We will never know (unless she turns up on the Hogwarts board…). Part 2:
What is your opinion of Morgan le Fay? Remember the more detailed answer, the more possible housepoints you may receive! She was a troubled lady who thought that she had to harm peole because her life wasn't as good as theres.I think that if she had been raisedbetter and not downsized next to her brother. In those days, though, the boys were valued more than the girls even in satisfactory families. I thinkher ruthlessness was due to her being jealous of them. Although, trying to killl your own brother is a bit much.

She had triple personalities and she seemed good at times when things went her way then evil and jealous at other times. Part 2: What is your opinion of Morgan le Fay? Remember the more detailed answer, the more possible housepoints you may receive! Well the lady was a nutcase-no offense. She was diabolical even to her own brother. He was halfbrother but still she shouldn't have taken part in that. Also she seemed too snoody like I know she was roylaty but you'd think she'd appreciate who put her there? Also when Morgan was portrayed as a fairy I see now why fairies are known to have split personalitis. As far as the whole thing with her scaring Genevive well she was just twisted. She couldn't stop meddling in other people's affairs. She had a number of titles and things but her true nature I am most likely to believe is diabolical. Sorry for being so blunt but she stooped low on many accounts. http://www.lib.rochester.edu/camelot/morgmenu.htm http://www.britannia.com/history/biographies/morgan.htmlhttp://www.britannia.com/history/biographies/morgan.htmlPost a picture of Morgan le Fay As you can see, she looks very deveous and this is the pic I picked for her because reading about her I really see her this way. | |

| 1.The animal was a bird. 2.She was half sister to King Arthur. 3.She was Queen of Avalon. 4.She was a skilled healer. 5.she was a antagonist of Arthur. She was also a fairy. And a sorserer. 6. In many stories she was jeolos of Arthur and tried to overthrow him. Part 2 I think She was very busy! She was a sorserer and a healer. That would most likely take up tons and tons of time. Also when she was young every one paid more attenchin to Arthur then her. That is why she is so deprived. She was very lonly and sad for her life. But all in all I think she seems pretty nice. | |

She also had a compassionate side as being a healer so I don't see her as evil but more like a little in between. Part 2: What is your opinion of Morgan le Fay? Remember the more detailed answer, the more possible housepoints you may receive! Morgan le fay is a very complex individual. She has been depicted as being many things and there are a lot of stories circulating around about her. But my personal opinion of her was that she was a very intelligent woman. Though she has done some rather unpleasant things she did show her strengths. Her cunning crafty nature proved that she was no a force to recon with. In fact, her disposition was quite admirable. I have to give her credit. She had many faces to her but she has become a mark in history that we all remember. I believe that I have mixed feelings towards Morgan. Its just so hard to believe that this women would turn evil, because the death of her lover. I mean people need to really work on how they are over come with pain and fear.
I really don’t know much about her, except for the fact that she stole the Excalibur. Most of the stories that I read where all different then the others.

| Part 1 1. A bird 2. King Arthur 3. Avalon 4. Healing Skills 5. Sorceress, Fairy, Arthur’s Antagonist 6. She used to be a benign enchantress, but then grew more and more sinister, even being taught the Dark Arts by Merlin. Although she was not a ‘good’ person, she still healed Arthur when he needed it. She is depicted as jealous, beautiful and envious of Queen Guinevere. She also lured knights to her. Part 2 I think that Morgan le Fay was simply a misunderstood character in the medieval times. She was not totally bad, because she simply wanted to be loved and cherished by those around her. The church, too, belittled her because her habits of luring men into her clutches, so she turned to witchcraft to find an excuse, or an outlet for her point of view. Although some of her reasons are understandable, I still think that there is no reason for some of her other actions. For example, I do not feel that jealousy is an appropriate excuse for hating other people such as Lady Guinevere. Morgan was not evil as such, she was just a good person who was led astray and had bad motives for her actions Bonus: http://www.hp-lexicon.org/images/wizcards/ea/017Morgan.gif " border="0" alt=""/> Source: http://www.pantheon.org/articles/m/morgan_le_fay.html | |
