Part One

We all know wizard rock. Bands that are dedicated to Harry Potter and write songs about Harry potter. What I want you to do is write your OWN wizard rock song.

The song must have at least 2 verses and one chorus and it must be about the harry Potter books or a certain character, storyline, item...whatever, but you must do it from the books, no writing songs about fanfictions you've read.

This song must NOT be a copy of a wizard rock band.

If you remember Battle of the Bands you'll remember you had to perform a song in RP style.

I want you to write an RP for you performing your song. You can have a band with you, instruments, costumes, audience, whatever. Be creative, it's what this class is about =]

Part Two

”Now introducing Cat” an announcer shouted on stage, in front of the closed curtain
Cat watched as the curtain before her lingered open. The announcer exited the stage to the right, leaving Cat and the people behind her alone on the stage in front of the hundreds of people. The light shone her face as the people became transfixed on her.

She cleared her throat and spoke into her microphone,” This song is called Cheer Up Harry”

Cat motioned to the musicians behind her to begin playing. She gripped the microphone with both of her hands and began to sing,

The music ended and the crowed cheered. Cat's face heated up, blushing," Thanks, goodnight."

The curtains closed and she began talking about how it went with her musician friends.

"Now on stage, a band that needs no introduction, Rigby and Prior Incantum!!!!"
The crowd goes wild as Rigby steps out, the applause thunderous as she and her bandmates take their place in front of their instruments. Rigby smiles as she takes a seat at her piano and starts to play. She looks at the crowd and sees thousands of cells phones lit up and swaying with the rhythm. The rest of the band joins in, the entire stadium throbbing witht the beat. Rigby opens her mouth, her voice, soprano and slightly raspy, belts out the lyrics. The crowds sings along and during the choruses Rigby lets them sing alone, her heart swelling as she realizes all her dreams. The power flows from her to the crowd and back again to her, making the music better. Rigby and the band repeat the final chorus again and again, since the crowd can not get enough. Finally, her voice husky and strained, Rigby plays the last key. She and the band stand together at the front of the stage, throwing kisses and waves at their fans, getting love and adoration back. Rigby thinks to herself how Harry Potter brings together people from all walks of life, and how music about him and his world speaks to everyone. They exit the stage, despite the cries for encores. It's time to start writing new songs, Rigby was working on an Ode to Remus, and the band was ready to cut their first album.

Part two

Becca twirled her hair nervously. This was her first performance of her new song and she wasn't sure how many people would like it. She grabbed the microphone quickly as someone she didn't know finished her makeup and hair.
'Please give a warm welcome to the becca and Dumbledore's Band Army!" shouted the announcer. Cheers filled the air and becca smilied as the chramed platform lowered her onto the stage. "How's everyoen doing tonight?" she asked anxiously. She was greeted with a whole bunch of cheers. 'Well, I hope you like my new single!" she replied and then the lights changed to a mix of greens, blues and purples. The screen behind her showed time turners and the band started up the music.

Becca took one last deep breath and belted out the lyrics she had written, "Time turners

Becca walked around shaking hands with the audience who were screaming loudly. She smilied wildly when the song finished. 'Thanks for coming out tonight everyone!" she thanked and then headed off the stage, still smiling and waving.

"And now I have the utmost pleasure to introduce...The Timeturners!"

"That's us," said Elana, grinning at her bandmates. "Ready or not, here we come!"

She ran onstage to the mic, the rest of the band - Jenn on piano, Rai - yes, dear, you're in my band, love it - on lead guitar, Amby on bass, Cris on drums - following suit. They had to navigate their way to their spots through the instruments already onstage along with assortments of books and other school materials that dotted the stage. The applause was deafening, and Elana couldn't stop grinning even when she got to her post. She smoothed her skirt, loving her Hermione outfit even though it wasn't blue and bronze, and waved to the audience.

"Thank you, thank you, you really are too kind," she said, "but they hired us to perform, and it would help if you could quiet down for just a minute or two."

The excitable crowd got the hint and she was able to continue. "We're going to perform a song for you now from our new album, 'Impossible Schedule,'" - she had to wave down the cheers before going on - "entitled, 'Books, Save The Empty.'"

Elana turned to see stage right and gave Jenn a nod. She began to play, the light notes hard to hear over the roar of the crowd as the recognized the song. Elana took the mic and sang,

During the instrumental break between the verses, she danced with the mic stand, wandered around the stage, high fived fans, you know, the usual, until it was time for her to sing again. She took the mic from the stand and sunk dramatically onto a large overturned cauldron center stage for the verse. She flipped absently through a nearby volume, dejectedly slamming it down onto her makeshift seat as she got to her feet.

As she sang the chorus, Elana went to the piano where she took a book from a stack next to a leg. She hugged it to her chest before sinking to the ground and scooting under the piano for the beginning of the next verse. During the verse she moved around under it, crouched, shielded herself with the book, doing whatever she could in her attempt to find the best possible hiding spot.

Finally leaving her den under the piano, Elana slid up onto the bench next to Jenn for the chorus, reaching down for more books to hold until they were falling out of her arms.

During the last few lines of the chorus, Elana scooped up the rest of the books and scurried over to the drum-set. She barricaded herself in between the drums and stacks of books, singing while she made the fortress. During the verse she peeked above the books and moved about in her confined space, trying to hide.

Could this be what I’ve waited for?

Mid-verse, a lanky, redheaded teenage boy ran onstage. He frantically looked around before spotting Elana, then hurried over to pull her out of her hiding place. During the last chorus of the song, they danced around the stage with Rai and Amby, ending by the piano. (Think High School Musical here from 1:20 on with better singing XD)

The music ended and the cheers erupted. Laughing from her seat on the piano, Elana shouted into the mic in order to be heard over the noise. "On behalf of the Timeturners, I want to give a big thank you to Mr. Ronald Weasley - " she gave him a big hug " - for agreeing to work with us on this tour and surprise you all! Thank you for coming! Next stop - Beauxbatons!"

Part Two -

Rose plugged her bass guitar into the amps, then wiped the sweat off her brow. She never liked opening a performance, but it had to be done. At least the crowds applause afterwards made it all worth while.

She took in a deep breath as someone announced her band to come on out and show all of Hogwarts what they had composed. The curtains drew open with the flick of a wand, and the students burst into 'global warming'. She blushed and turned her attention to the rest of the band, trying not to faint.
The singer nodded and at the count of three they started playing The sweet-filled melody took everyone by surprise, but they seemed interested none the less.

Rose swallowed hard, her fingers strumming against the blood-red guitar, and prepared for the chorus which all the band sang.

“I wish I knew
I wish I could somehow tell
My heart, no more than a battleground
Swaying in the cherry-red field”

Before she knew it, the second chorus had come up, and she chimed in with the rest once again. Then, the third, which drew out longer than the others and the music came to an abrupt halt. Rose chewed on her lip, hoping the audience liked their new single and the five members bowed.

After a moment, the students and teachers hooted and whistled, applauding like mad over their song. Rose smiled in relief and waved goodnight as the band went off the stage.
