GRYFFINDOR Circus Wear thread

:: WL heard the Circus theme tune start up and got ready back stage at her apparition point. The Stage Manager, swifty, had overdone herself by creating a stunning and vibrant stage with fountains, drapes and more!::

::Adjusting her sleek but flexible costume, WL took a deep breath and strode forward on her stils onto the stage. At the top of the stairs, on the centre platform, she paused and let her costume and height sink into the audience. She was standing on 20 foot stilts, balancing precariously, but steadfastly, jutting out a hip and striking a dangerous pose.::

::WL's suit consisted of a stretching and fitting black top which flared our near the waist and forearms, and flared black trousers which extended over her stilts, giving her a formidable, yet strangely funny look of being extra tall and gorgeous. Her top and trousers were laced with sparkling reds, oranges and yellows that looked as though they were glowing under the spotlights. A soft red sash was slung around her hips and a sparkling red top-hat sat at a jaunty angle of her head of dark curls.::

::Satisfied that she had made the perfect impression, WL lifted one stilted leg in a tall arc, drawing gasps from the audience as she balanced skillfully on one tall stilt. She took one step down and repeated it for the next few steps before drawing her breath once more and grinning wildly at the audience before her next move. She fell forwards, making no move to stop herself......::

::As WL fell forward, the lights fell and she let out her breath long enough to concentrate on fer next move. One of swifty's stage crew rushed up in the darkness as the spotlight was on the other catwalk and "spotted" for WL, making sure she was caught if she fell. WL lifted her left stilted leg and swung it behind her in a long arc until it landed on the otherside. Effectively, she was doing an upside down split on stilts, which was, as it sounds, quite difficult!::

::WL knew it was the time for her co-performers' entrances so she hung upside down there until they had entered and it was her turn to actually take her turn down the catwalk::

Cristina had watched from behind the charmed wall and smiled - WL had done a great show and it was now her turn to go there and show what Gryffindor had prepared! She exchanged one last assuring look with Swifty and then apparated on a balcony high up above the catwalk.

The spotlights were blinding, but what was even more exciting was the crowd that went silent in admiration of her costume. It was flexile and tight on her body to allow her to move freely. It's main colour was black - not just any black, a shining one! - and it had glittery red and yellow parts at the neck and winding around the body. Overall, it was exactly what a trapeze artist like her would need and it reassured her that everything was going to go well with her dangerous performance.

She smiled to the public, then bowed to open a trapdoor. Underneath it, her trapeze was hidden and in position for her to grab it and to lower herself with it.

She curled up around the trapeze-bar and felt the trapeze go down. This is it!, she thought. When the trapeze was at the desired height, she twirled around into a position held only by her legs, head down, hands outstreched to the public. Then she raised one leg and brought it all the way down to her chin, outstretched, of course, and grabbed it with her hands. This was the position in which she was going to wait for her next move.

Becca nervously watched WL and cristina's performances. THey had done such a great job! Now it was her turn to show that Gryffindor could surely pull this fashion show off.


Rebecca walked on to the catwaly, knowing that her trapeze bar would lower down when she got to the end of the catwalk.

Becca's costume had shorts that had orange backround with brown spots so it looked like lepord or cheetah printand so did her loose shirt. Her hair was up ina stylish pony tail and it looked like a tail as she walked.

Becca walked slowly down the catwalk, letting the audience get a good look at her outfit. Then, the her trapeze bar lowered and Becca reached her hands up, and pulled the rest of her body up. She slid her legs over and hung upside down, waiting for her next move.

::As the lights came back on WL, she drew gasps from the audience in her new position. Taking a slight swing, WL released the stilts from her legs and used the momentum to jump up, somersalt and land back down on the centre catwalk. The stilts were vanished by swifty's crew, and WL immediately started to tumble her way down the catwalk to the beat of the music...

1-2-3-4, back bend jump up cartwheel into splits, roll over into hand stand, walk on hands, hop on hands, jump back again...WL continued her little performance and made her way down the catwalk, modelling her flexible costume and colours on the way.::

Cristina began balancing with her trapeze in order to gain momntum. Then, at a decisive moment, she threw both her feet and her whole body forward, finally sitting on the trapeze with her back to the public. She stood up and grabbed the ropes with her hands, then carefully turned around. She rotated once around her ars and shoulders, so that her hands were now tied to the ropes. Then she slowly slid down until she was with her stomach on the trapeze bar and streced her whole body, letting go of the ropes and ony being held by the bar and her own sense of balance. Then she winked towards a member of the crew, who lowered the trapeze until she was just in front of Becca and a few feet behind WL. She winked to the girls, and waited for their moves, smiling to the public.

Becca grabbed the rope on either side of the trapeze bar and stod up, looking down @ the crowd.

She gulped slightly and then jumped to another bar. She caught it with her hands and then lowered herself slowly down to the ground. Rebecca's feet hit the ground softly. She winked at WL and cristina.

Becca then did a few cart wheels and then bowed to the audience.

She did a flip and her legs caught her trapeze bar again.

She silently said YES in her mind, since she didn't fall down.

Cristina twirled around and hung again upside down. She held herself with her legs and began to swing to and fro. "Weee," she thought, " 'tis is fuuuun!' She smiled broadly at the public and noticed that they were again admiring her costume:



She grinned happily, then let go. Somebody in the crowd shrieked - what if she was going to be hurt? But it wasn't a problem for her. She did a couple of rotations in the air, after which she landed perfectly on her tiptoes next to WL and bowed to the public. She turned around on the spot a few times, posing as well as she could and making her costume shine in the spotlights.
Then she gracioulsy stretched out her hand and waited for the trapeze to come to her. She sat on the bar facing the public and let herself transported slowly to the apparition point, where she posed one last time before disapparating in a puff of mystic orange smoke.

;;WL raised her arms to the audience and tipped her hat (which swifty’s crew had just about glued to her head) and turned around to complete her walk. She raised her arms and hoops appeared at each end, courtesy of the crew. As she walked, she made sure to swivel her hips and arms around them in time to the beat. The hoops glittered, matching her costume and the hat on her head. As she reached the two fountains in the centre of the catwalk, she threw the hoops high into the air and took a sudden running leap at the trampette (a mini trampoline) that had been pushed on to the stage.

She judged the distance carefully and timed her jump exactly…she forced herself off the trampette and shot up into the air, her sash billowing like an aura around her middle. She posed in midair with her toes pointed, and her front facing forward, arms raised high for the audience to fully admire her costume before she bent over backwards and took a backward somersault through the hoops she had thrown. As she peaked at the height of her jump, she took a small bow/curtsey in the air and landed safely on the balcony in the back wall, her apparition point…WL’s circus modelling strut was over…with a bang and flash of small fireworks to either side of the balcony.::
