Riddle of the Sphinx 20

Welcome to the Riddle of the Sphinx! For this riddle, I've added an extra part for which you can earn bonus points.

Today, there are two riddles; the first will reveal the name of a magical creature, and the second will give you clues to the location of a picture of the creature. The picture is hidden somewhere on the site, within someone's post.

For solving just the riddle, there will be 40 points for the first person to PM me, and 20 for everyone else. If you also find the location of the picture, you will get 10 bonus points!

PM me when you know answer to the first riddle, and if you have found the image, send the name of the forum and thread you found it in. Any questions just PM me!

Riddle One - Magical Creature

My name is known across the school,
For I reside in their lakeside pool.
No harm do I mean when you spy me,
So my dear friends, there is no need to flee.

I live in the depths, the dark blue waters,
The seaweed and sand are my sons and daughters.
If you fall into my murky lake,
I will rescue you make no mistake.

To some I'm repugnant, a beast to be feared,
To others I'm majestic, always revered.
But your task today is to guess my name,
Go on, take a stab, play this game!

Riddle Two - To Find the Image Hidden Around the Site

To find my image, you must take a look,
Perhaps you will find me within a book.
Remember the man who delivers the tools,
The magical sticks that help you in school.

We know not where he is, nor where he is found,
But you've discussed his location; has he gone to ground?
Perhaps he was kidnapped, though who knows where,
Your job is to find him, and I am hiding too there.
