RPG CatwalkRigby hustled Lydia into a waiting make-up chair, checking her face and hair to make sure everything was perfect. She went over and over Lydia's directions for the catwalk, and Lydia indulged her even though this was perhaps the 10th time they had been over everything. Lydia felt confident, even if Rigby didn't. Lydia stared at her reflection in the mirror while Rigby prattled on, her green eyes cooly assessing her outfit. She picked up and ran a comb thru her straight white blonde hair. People were always surprised by her resemblance to Lucious Malfoy and his son Draco, and she had gotten use to the comments. But she was true Ravenclaw, through an through, even if her bloodline might have crossed with Malfoys back when everyone in her family had been purebloods.
"Ohmygosh! It's time, Lydia! Gogogogogo!" cried Rigby a bit manically. Lydia raised a pale eyebrow, but said nothing as she slid out of her chair and made her way to her backstage mark. She got there just in time to hear her music start and she burst onto the stage with huge attitude. She was street smart and fashion fierce. She twirled her scarf as the announcer did his part to describe her outfit and then she began her long walk down the catwalk. She scanned the crowd, looking for celebrities, trying to hide her elation when she saw them. Spurred on by the audience, she posed and and danced to the music, darting and zig-zaging around the cars that lined the runway, which had been enchanted to look like rain drenched street.
At the end of the runway she hammed it up for the photographers, twisting her body into high fashion poses. Her clothes just made her feel cool and it showed with every step she took. Her return walk was a breeze, and Lydia knew that her clothes were going to sell out. She posed against the brickwall backdrop that they had spent all the past week tagging with spray paint. The audience screamed for more, but Lydia exited the catwalk just as Joan was entering it. She gave a no to her fellow Ravenclaw and escaped into the relative darkness of the backstage. She could hear Rigby yelling at the lighting guy, a first year who really looked like he did not want to be here. Rigby wanted the lights brighter and bolder for the street wear runway, and the poor kid was doing what he could, finally whipping out his wand to re-adjust one of the lights. Lydia laughed and went to give Rigby a hand with Lily's models.
Catwalk Music:Starchild by Jamiroquai
I've never seen the sky so angry
Starchild
You've got to do somthing about these
Mind crimes
The shuffling feet and sad expressions
They don't go, they don't go
I thought you came down from heaven
To save souls
These angry men are into making
Bad seeds
The only thing we had they're taking
Now love needs
Needs a little, needs a little
Five thousand million people
To spread joy, spread a little joy
I thought you came down from heaven to save us
I thought you came but you just don't take us
[Chorus:]
Somewhere in the world tonight
There's a fire blazing bright
Keeping warm the superman
Sent to us to save the land
Somewhere in the world today
A hungry one will kneel to pray
Wishing all the while to see
Starchild
I've ssen the preachers on the TV
In white suits
With precious stones they're studded into
Their boots
Can you take the money, can you take their money?
I don't know who to believe
Is it them or you?
I thought you came down from heaven to save us
I thought you came but you just don't take us
[Chorus]
Starchild
Got to see him now
When you gonna come, when you gonna come
You've got to save us from what we've begun
From what we've begun
So long coming down
Starchild
[Chorus]
Somewhere in the world tonight
In the world tonight
Somewhere in the world tonight
In the world tonight
You know that somewhere in the world tonight
There's a superman
There's a superman and he's coming down to see you, baby
There's a superman coming
There's a superman coming

RPG Catwalk:Joan watched Lydia's walk, grateful that Rigby was busy with the lighting techie so that she didn't have to go over her instructions again. She was actually looking forward to the runway, having done beauty pageants back when she thought she was just another Muggle kid. Her Mom had freaked when she had seen her new hairstyle and color, but was calmed down some when Joan explained that it was just a magical illusion. It wasn't actually, but there was no use fighting with her non-wizarding parents when they were only here for the weekend. Plus she changed hairstyles so quickly that there was no telling what her hair would be like by the time summer holidays came around.
She could see Lydia doing a good performance on the runway, she was giving Joan a run for her money. They had made bets on whose outfit would sell the most, and Joan did not like to lose. She reached up to adjust her choker, making sure that the star hung correctly. Her eyes, a lighter blue than her hair, narrowed as the runway lights began to get brighter. Her music started and she was back in the limelight. She had hated all the beauty pageants as a child, but had always loved being on stage. She reveled in the crowd's adoration and she began do her signature walk. She made fierce eyes at the judges, suspecting in her heart that she watched entirely too much of America's Next Top Model.
She paused to pose, opening up her vest to exspose her perfectly printed t-shirt. She had already made an advanced purchase of the entire outfit, right down to the choker. Joan hated girly outfits, and usually her fashion sense was pretty low key, but this outfit hit all the right chords with her. She really felt like she was on the Paris runways, even more so when she spotted several uber-rich witches who were the wizarding world's equivilant of Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritcher. She stopped to pose right in front of them, giving them a saucy wink. She could tell that they were in a buying mood, and she wanted her clothes to be the ones the spent money on.
Joan hit the end of the runway, posing against the side of one of the cars parked along side the runway, she had spent weeks perfecting her bored-with-life-street-wear expression, knowing that once the pictures of her hit the fashion magazines every street kid would recognize themselves embodied in her pose. The crowd cheered even louder, if that were possible. One woman was clapping her hands so violently tha Madame Pomfrey was standing by in case of injury.
Joan walked back down the runway, dead center, and reached the graffiti strewn brick wall with its dead end signs and Ravenclaw tags. She turned around and leaned against the wall, another picture perfect opputunity. She dared a glance over to where her parents were seated and noticed that her mom looked proud, her dad on the other hand looked bewildered and confused. He had looked much the same way since she had recieved her acceptance letter from Hogwarts. Laughing to herself she pushed off the wall and went backstage. It was time to collect on that bet from Lydia.
Catwalk Music:So Pure by Alanis Morissette
you from new york you are so relevant
you reduce me to cosmic tears
luminous more so than most anyone
unapologetically alive knot in my stomach
and lump in my throat
I love you when you dance when you freestyle in trance
so pure such an expression
supposed former infatuation junkie
I sink three pointers and you wax poetically
I love you when you dance when you freestyle in trance
so pure such an expression
let's grease the wheel over tea
let's discuss things in confidence
let's be outspoken let's be ridiculous
let's solve the world's problems
I love you when you dance when you freestyle in trance
so pure such an expression
