Threstals + Veil = IDEA

okay, i was just reading through the film spoilers and i just thought... in the film (im not sure about the book so someone check for me since mine is somewhere) hermione and ron cant hear whats being said in the veil room, they cant hear the voices, yet Harry and luna can.

i was wondering if, like the threstals, you can only hear those voices if you have seen death.

it would make sense, with luna saying, something like "they're just waiting" at the end of ootp book to harry (she's pinning up notices for the return of her stuff)

what if those behind the veil are those who were lost, and the voices belonged to the three people who had died in harry's life up to that point, his parents and cedric.

anyway just an idea.

i agree with polly.... ginny couldny see the threstals but she too heard the voices...... other than that it does sound like a good idea

i'd forgotten about Ginny but i am very curious that there may be a connection because of Hermione and Ron's reactions. Theres something about that viel that i am dying to know more about, lets call it my new obsession!!!!

i dont even understand it...... theres voices that few ppl can hear and if ya fall into it your dead..... thats all i know....lol

i think its a kind of afterlife. You know once your crossover you can't come back, so technically sirius wouldnt be dead ... he's just chilling out with the dead ... oh now i have a picture of Sirius drinking a bud, smoking a cigar whilst having a party with james and lily and whoever else they know.

or maybe like the threstrals there has to have been something happend to you like some major thing in your life
Harry:well loads his mum dad etc
Nevillie: his mum dad
Luna: mum
Ginny: being possesed

hmm i like that, maybe those who have been traumatised ... but then Rona nd Hermione would be included.

theres got to be something they all have in common neville, harry, luna and ginny which made it so that there was a reason why they heard it and hermione and ron didnt.

Maybe it was Ron and Hermiones lack of a near death expeirence to that point? maybe?

well maybe ginny lost someone dear to her.

i mean, in the wizarding world, who hasnt been attacked by a killer snake or chased by a gi-moungus spider right? lol

Yeah, I've always wondered if there was a connection between this as well. Maybe it just needs to be an encounter with death? Then Harry, Luna and Neville would hear it because of the deaths they'd seen and Ginny would be able to hear them because she almost died when Tom Riddle came back? Hmm...just an idea.
