Day 43: What does the symbol on the spine of the UK cover mean?

Delta phi is Greek. Delta (the traingle) - I'm sure you've seen it if you do Physics or Maths or Chemistry. It means 'change in'... so, say the equation for acceleration is 'change in speed/change in time', you'd say a = delta v/delta t

Phi (a circle with a line down the middle) has many many definitions, but the one that I think might most relate to the symbol on the spine is 'function'. In Physics, the energy that a photon emits during the photoelectric effect is calculated by hf (the frequency multiplied by h - a constant) = phi (the work function of the metal) [Also, if you don't know what the photoelectric effect is... look it up on wiki XD]

So basically it'd be 'change in function'. If we take 'function' (or 'angle', as phi can also mean) to mean the paths of Voldemort and Harry, then we can say that the paths that they walk are ever-changing, or that the outcome of the final battle will be unclear until the last moment.

And I'm revising for my Physics exam which is in... 10 and a half hours... so... XD

i went with the ever changing thingy because i lobe switfy and it would explin a lot about the book, like lisa said, voldie and harry paths are ever changing etc i think the book, because it'll be about the horcruxes and harry vs voldie final showdown anything can happen, their paths to achieve their goals will always be changing so yeah....what swifty said.

I actually think that the triangle represents the trio's friendship. Although it could also be a rune.
