Remus's story

It is in the secomd to last chapter and Remus is telling Harry about the fight. Remus says about how Neville tried to get into the Tower that haryy and dumbledor was in but couldnt and was thrown back..... well remus then says that he saw Snape get through and thought that he knew a countercurse to get through because Remus tried to foloow him but was throw back HArry thought that a death eater had sent it and that Snape only got through beacuse he ahd the dark mark.... well i believe that dumbledor had set the cahrm and did not want any of the order to interupt them..... i also believe that once he knew Snape was coming he had lifted the charm and let Sanpe pass throught then set it back up agian..... but why would dumbledor set up a charm to keep poeple from saving his lief..... it is because he knew he had to be killed.... if he wasnt killed then Voldemort would have killed Malfoy but he didnt want that to happen... that is my thoguths on the issue

I think that Dumbledore placed it so only the dark marks people could pass through and he did not lift it because he knew that snape could pass through because of snapes former alliances.

yea maybe thats what it was... i jus thought thatDumbledore had something to do with that being there

I don't think DUmbledore set it to be honest. I think it was done by Draco or Snape because Dumbledore didn't know they had got in that night and so he couldn't have set it up because he used his last wand wave to "freeze" Harry.

Hmm...interesting, but I think the Death Eater's placed it there to give Draco free reign. The Death Eater's arrival in Hogwarts came as a complete shock to Dumbledore; he honestly didn't expect them to get in. So he used the freezing charm on Harry in order to keep him from interfering and possibly getting hurt...I don't think Dumbledore would have placed it.
