What did you think of the Hogwarts scenes?

I thought they were fantastic! I loved the idea of the underground resistance gathering in the RoR, then the whole battle scene, the forest, the shrieking shack was amazing!

I adored how the whole castle sprung to the defence - the suits of armour, the house elves, the thestrals, centaurs and hippogriffs.

I did think we'd see more of the school, but what we did see was great!

The school parts I think were one of the best in DH in the whole series really it was like whoa with the DA and everyone. The battle in the forest was really scary but the way Harry was all yeah dude up yours was cool too.

The Hogwarts battle was faaaaaaantastic. McGonagall taking charge, saying "PROTECT OUR SCHOOL" as she orders the statues into battle...and then later she rode a desk into the front lines shouting "CHARGE!" I have much respect for that woman. Hehe

I also enjoyed seeing Trelawney do her bit, which I thought was brilliant. I got so worried when Lavender was near Fenrir Greyback. o.O I thought for sure he was gonna get her.

The second battle...Molly Weasley-force to be reckoned with. I was so impressed with her character at that point, and was glad she gave Bellatrix what she deserved.

I kept wondering throughout the book when they would go to Hogwarts, but it was so fitting to end the war there where, really, it had begun.

I loved the moment when Mcgonagall raced parst after the charging desks : D

The whole tempo of the Hogwarts scenes and the different places, the RoR, the Shack, the Forest - everything was perfect - possibly one of the best parts in the whole book

They were fantastic. The suits, the statues, everything. I wish my school was more like that..It was really good..and the war I liked how we saw ll the places we had already seen throught the books, you know the Forest, the RoR, The Grounds, The Shrieking Shack..all those places we had seen already. And the Ravenclaw common room was a good one too. We got to see all common rooms minus Hufflepuff.

I thought that the scenes at Hogwarts, right from beginning to end, were brilliant - I dont think JK could have done them any better

In an interview released today, JKR said the following about Hogwarts:

Quote :: Nineteen years after the Battle of Hogwarts, the school for witchcraft and wizardry is led by an entirely new headmaster (“McGonagall was really getting on a bit”) as well as a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. That position is now as safe as the other teaching posts at Hogwarts, since Voldemort’s death broke the jinx that kept a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor from remaining for more than a year.

While Rowling didn’t clarify whether Harry, Ron and Hermione ever return to school to finish their seventh year, she did say she could see Harry popping up every now and again to give the “odd talk” on Defense Against the Dark Arts.
