| You can't deny it, there were some seriously disturbing moments in the book. I think one that really chilled me to the core was the takeover of the Ministry and the subsequent treatment of the Muggle-borns.
It very much reminded me of Hitler's regime from WWII, and I just found it horrible that they would do that to their own kind.
The manner of Wormtail's death was gruesome - strangled by his own silver hand because he hesitated to repay Harry's life debt.
Harry using unforgivable curses. I can understand why he needed to do it, but the idea of Harry using Dark Magic is a bit disturbing for me.

| I think the bit that disturbed the most was the whole mudbllod law and how they were mistreated. Like Amy said, it was much like Hitler. It sent shivers down my spine. The other one was when Harry and Hermione went to Godric's Hallow and found Bathilda. It was so errie that I knew something had to happen. | |

| Definitely the Muggle-born registration thing, it was really freaky. WWII all over again *shudders* well, when you see it that way, I'm not all that surprised they did it because this whole thing was a war because of prejudice against others who's blood status wasn't good enough.
Harry using the Unforgivables... yeah, especially the Imperio. He had already used Crucio before, though it was still a bit shocking, but I loved McGonagall's reaction to it I have to say lol.
And when they went to Godric's Hollow, the part with Bathilda was just... uncomfortable to me. I kept thinking 'Something bad's going to happen, something bad's going to happen' over and over again.

| I hated when Hermione was being tortured by Bellatrix, because I kept thinking about Neville's parents and how they were driven insane by the crutiais spell. It made me realize how much more the Longbottoms suffered. And the deathly hallows mark, with Viktor being offended, all that was very disturbing. Luna's father was also disturbing and disappointing, I really thought he was going to be a much greater man than he turned out to be. | |

| The muggle-born treatment was scary, and as Amy says, it was rather Hitler like, though not surprising as Voldemort has been mirrored to that of Hitler before, still very disturbing.
With Wormys death, I was shocked. I felt that after he showed that little bit of compasion, he didnt deserve a death quite like that, which was the disturbing part.
The grey lady and the Barron part was slightly disturbing too, and seemed to come out of nowhere.
The revelation of what happened to Dumbledore's sister which made her the way she was disturbed me too.

| My goodness, there were some parts in this book that just made me stop reading (*everyonegasps*) and take a moment to collect myself and overcome the shock.
Bathilda being possessed... Rita's book-especially Dumbledore's letter to Grindelwald. That one completely blew be out of the water... The horcrux nearly strangling Harry-I had no idea it had abilities like that...it just freaked me out. Everything that paralleled Voldemort to Hitler Xenophilius turning them into the Ministry...I couldnt believe he'd be so hypocritical..even though they DID have Luna. Greyback's threats towards Hermione and Bellatrix torturing her Wormtail's death...even after he saved Harry Dobby dying saving Harry and the others *cries* And the stuff about Dumbles' sister...
That's all I can think...I can't write much more...It makes me sad...

| I found it rather disturbing what happened to the people by fighting. An exploding owl, a missing ear - those things probably grossed me out most. Disturbing apart from violence, definitely Harry using Unforgivable Curses, and with such ease, too. The way he describes the Imperius Curse as a warm feeling of something along that line, it just seems sick to me! All that doing things 'for the greater good' was rather creepy, I think. Especially the way Harry was forced to do such things as well... And, of course, the whole Adriana story, all about Dumbledore's past. That was shocking... | |

| The scene at the Ministry, where it showed their treatment of Muggle-borns gave me chills. It reminded me of Hitler's treatment of Jews during WWII. And that statue....*shivers*
Actually, Voldemort reminds me a lot of Hitler. Hitler was part Jewish, and yet he hated the Jews. Voldemort was half-Muggle, yet he hated Muggles and Muggle-borns. Neither really seemed to have a reason why, and neither would reverse their views.
Dobby's death made me cry. Just the way he died....
I was totally wrecked after reading Fred's death. The way she described his body still haunts me.

| For me one of the most disturbing moments of the book was the whole scene in the Malfoy Manor. The things that Greyback said to Hermione just really made me cringe, and then her being tortured by Bellatrix. And when Ron could hear her scream and he would shout "Hermione!" that really got to me.
Hedwig's death. That one really got to me as well. I always thought that Hedwig would be with Harry forever. So, her dying really shocked me.
Fred losing an ear. That was almost to much for me to handle. It was very gruesome.
Dobby's death. I really loved that little elf. The fact that he died a heroic death made me a little happier. I liked the fact that he saved the people from the Manor. But I wish he hadn't of died.
And all of the parts that involved the snake.
I can't think of anything else at the moment.

| Fred died. George lost his ear not Fred/ What really made me sick was Hermione being totured adn the beinging with that teacher. Also when they were in the mistriny and what that statue was made of and what they did to muggleborns. It was sooo sad, like the Nazi all over. | |
