| JKR has revealed who got the reprieve and who she decided to kill a little later in the writing. - Quote :
- "Lupin and Tonks were two who were killed who I had intended to keep alive. … It's like an exchange of hostages, isn't it? And I kept Mr. Weasley (Ron's father) alive. He was slated to die in the very, very original draft of the story."

| Well, that does make sense. Because I think Harry would've been even more crazed had he thought he killed Mr. Weasley. And it adds to the parallelishness between Harry and Teddy...but still
*cries for Lupin and Tonks*

| It would have been horribly traumatic to kill Mr. Weasley, but I was really upset that both Tonks and Lupin died. It makes sense, but it was really sad. | |

| I heard in an interview that the reason she didn't kill Arthur (which was supposed to happen in OotP) was because she just couldn't stand to write it. | |

| Well, even if I loved Remus and Tonks very much, I don't think the bond between Harry and Teddy would have been as strong as it turned out to be now. And besides, I have a feeling that Teddy is not as angsty and misunderstood as Harry was :D
...Teddy is cooler xD | |

| Well Teddy is loved, and for the first eleven odd years of Harry's life he didn't know love. When his parents were alive he was too young to appreciate it and then they died and he was sent off to the Dursleys where he was mistreated. Teddy on the other hand was loved by his mother and father, and then when they died he at least had his grandmother and Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione and I'm sure lots of other people he cared about.
If Arthur died, it would have probably changed Ron alot. He really looks up to Arthur and he would be devasted if that happened. Also, It would have changed the way they looked at Harry after he witnessed it. I am still sad about Remus and Tonks though.

| As I said; he's not as angsty as Harry, you can't get around the fact that Harry was a sad little creature and a waste of life :D

| I felt bad when Lupin and Tonks died. With there being so much death already, I was hoping for the best for those two but I suppose it was best that way.
It would have hurt to have Arthur die; as kind of a man as he was to Harry.

| Aww, I'm glad she didn't kill Mr. Weasley...Fred and Mr. Weasley would've been too much for me to handle... But I hated that Tonks and Lupin died. Sooooo sad. | |
