You may now start your test. If you successfully reach the end o the test you’ll find me your DADA professor, ready to give your grade. There’s a path you must follow to reach me.

Remember if you don’t post for a month your test will be closed. Check the guidelines and focus on the things you’ll be marked for.

A warning at times I may need to god-mod either to point you in some direction or to test you or if I think you’re not skilled enough for something you’ve done, however how you cope with it will only benefit you.

When a question is made try not just plainly answer it, express your feelings towards it.

It’s dawn and you’ve reached a big lake pontificated with leaves. You see a red arrow floating in the air pointing the direction you must follow which is through the middle of the lake.

The lake seems peaceful and still but what do you do? Enter the lake to cross it or go around it?

June glanced at the lake, wand in hand. There was a red arrow floating above the water, pointing to the other side. June bit her lip, glancing at the water's surface, unsure. Many leaves covered the lake's surface, so June couldn't see what hid within its depths. She looked once more at the red arrow. She knew she was supposed to follow it... but to swim across the lake seemed like too much of a risk and she didn't know how to apparate yet. But... what if she swam across but protected herself? June waved her wand. "Impervius," she said, hoping the spell would keep things away from her. Then, June cast the Bubblehead charm on herself. That done, she stowed her wand safely and dove into the lake.

Hint: identifying what you’re facing will give you more points and will probably help you finding a way to defeat it.

Mei dives into the lake and quickly swims across it wanting to reach the other shore as fast as she can. While underwater she can see the lake was filled with some kind of small slug-like creatures but they weren't getting to her as all of the water was being repelled due to the sutpify spell.

Mei walks a few more feet until she reaches a bi-furcated path.

There are two arrows pointing to each path. One of the path is clear. The other one is being guarded by what looks like a Jack Russell Terrier only it has a forked tail.

Which way to go now?

As June swam, her eyes widened as she saw… things swimming around her. They looked like slugs and instantly, June was reminded of leeches. She shuddered and remembered swimming in a pond behind her family’s ‘farm’ area in Pennsylvania. When she had exited the pond, she had looked down and seen leeches on her feet. Yes June was a Gryffindor, but when it came to blood-sucking slug-like creatures - she shuddered again – she was a complete wimp. Thankfully, the leech-looking things stayed well away from her. If it was because of the Impervius spell, June thanked some higher deity for convincing her to cast it. Finally, June reached the edge of the lake and though she had probably only swum for around 5 minutes, it had felt like 5 hours.

As she climbed out of the water, June shivered and reached for her wand. “ Caliente (warmth),” she muttered and sighed in relief as the spell warmed her soaked body. June turned and stared at the lake for a few moments. It remained peaceful and calm, though horrible leech-looking things swam beneath its cover of leaves. She felt pity for the next pour soul who had to swim through that. Hopefully, he or she would use a spell. Turning her head, June stared at the path before her. There were two, actually: One remained clear while the other was guarded by a dog-like creature. June smiled; it was a Crup! She remembered them from Care of Magical Creatures and knew that they were often kept as pets, and generally friendly. June loved dogs and wished that she had one. Sadly, her parents didn’t think that she had enough ‘responsibility’.

Ah well… June walked up to the Crup and crouched down. “Hey you,” she said, smiling at it. She slowly extended a hand, not wanting to get bitten. When it seemed the Crup wouldn’t immediately attack her, June petted it on the head. Then, she stood and began to walk down the path that the Crup had previously guarded, the animal happily walking at her side.

Both June and the crup follow the path that leads deeply into the forest.

Suddently June sees a clearing, a small circle surrounded by thick trees. In the middle of the circle she can see a fire burning.

She looks back and the crup is a few feet behind. It's clear it isn't willing to enter the clearing.

June looks at the red arrow that points to the clearing. No other path is visible.

June gasped as she saw a circular clearing that seemed to spring from nowhere. In the middle was a large fire and June became wary. Was someone else here? June drew her wand, wary.

A whine from below distracted her, and June looked down. The crup was crouching; it seemed to be afraid. June bent down and stroked the crup's fur, trying to reassure it. "What's wrong?" she asked softly, continuing her petting. The crup buried its face in her arms. June looked forward and narrowed her eyes. It was obvious that something was wrong... June smiled down at the crup and said, "You can stay here, if you like, but I'm going on." The crup seemed to like that option and backed up a few feet.

June nodded and stood. She Disillusioned herself and held her wand out, ready for an attack. "Bye," she whispered to the crup and waved, though she doubted he could see her. June stepped forward and began walking into the clearing.

June enters the clearing. Near the fire she can see several ashes trails that lead from it to the surrounding trees. Here and there faint red lights in the tress can be seen.

Can she identify the danger that surrounds her and stop it?
