| We can talk about all our favourite books (that aren't Harry Potter related ) I'll start by talking about a series of books that are very groovy and marvy. Has anyone else read the Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison? They are fabbity fab fab, so very very funny, and the main character, Georgia practically has her own language (which I like to steal from occasionally, so if you see me using words like 'marvy' or 'nippy noodles' you'll know why So what are everyone's favourite books? | |

| Me like the Narnia books too... read all of them before I was 11 I don't think I ever managed to finish LOTR... but still. I just read a new release called 'The Undomestic Goddess', but it's got swearing in it, so I shan't say anything more. Lol. I'm on 'The Shadow of the Wind' at the moment. I read so much.... | |

Any Dan Brown The Time Travellers Wife - Audrey Niffenegger Kate Remembered - A. Scott Berg My Life Among The Serial Killers - Helen Morrison Moby Dick - Herman Melville Anything by Mark Twain (conneticut yankee especially)
And at the moment I'm reading Desperate Husbands by Richard Glover. I love it because I can totally relate to the guy and every page has me laughing. There are heaps more but I promised to keep it short.

| Speak by Laurie halse anderson. It's an all time favorite, I cry and laugh when I read it. The emotions in that book is amazing, the author gets you exactly where she wants you, and..It's just amazing. It makes you feel so much. One second you're laughing your butt of at something Melinda though of someone, and the next you're crying your eyes out because her situation is just so sad.
Another favorite author is Minette walters. Oh god, I think i've read all of her books, they're just so brilliant. She's sharp, and you read until your eyelids weigh a kilo, and you can't keep them open. I especially like 'The sculptress', which is one of her earlier books, but I'd recommend all of them, really. :study:
'A likeness in stone' by Julia wallis martin is also a good book. Um... Oh, I can't think of anything that is available in english right now, but among swedish writers, I like Linda skugge, Jonas Gardell and Ã…sa grennvall.

I love the book Zoya too, by Danielle Steel. Also Rebecca from Daphnee Du Maurier, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen and Jeanne, fille du Roy (yeah, in french loll... means Jeanne, daughter of the king) by... I don't remember who

| I love the His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman, I think they're fantastic books.
There's so much depth to the characters, so much thought behind the plot, and I love all the ideas in the books, especially The Amber Spyglass.
There are so many great characters in these novels (my favourite being Will), and the idea that there are other worlds all running simultaneously is great.
A couple of years ago, my family and I went to Oxford for a shopping trip, but it ended up being a sort of HDM sight-seeing thing, we went to the museum Lyra goes to (incidentally, where the shrunken heads that are in Borgin and Burkes are from) and it was really great.
I also really like the Sally Lockhart series by Philip Pullman, they're set in the Victorian times, and are sort of murder mystery books. I've just heard that BBC are making a TV adaptation to these books, so I'll be looking forward to that.

| ok, besides Harry Potter, i've read:
Narnia (only 2 yet, but want to read all)
Animorphs (only 8 of them, cause from 9 to 54, the portuguese translator just stoped translating and no one else wanted to do that...)
Buffy, the vampire Slayer (I read the books and I'm watching the serie... I'm totally obcessed by it)
The princess's Diary (very cool, it has nothing to do with fairylands and all... i didn't like the films, because they had nothing to do with the books... the 1st film was good, but a little off the story and the 2nd one is just invented... none of that happens in the books)
and those are my favourites... the others i read but didn't like, or like but it's not worth to put here, etc...
stay cool | |

 I used to love the Babysitters Club! I thought it was the best....I dunno where all my books are though.... The books that I couldn't get enough of when I was younger are The Famous Five books. I LOVED them - reading and re-reading, listening to the audio books, watching the TV series (lol, Becky watched these the other day hehe). Actually, I loved lots of Enid Blyton's books when I was little - The Adventure series, five find-outers, malory towers, naughtiest girl in school etc. etc, I had them all. And loved them!

Colin has always reminded me of Draco... until he gets all nice. Then he's not Draco...
Anyway, favourite books: The Trickster books by Tamora Pierce, P&P Jane Austen, anything Darren Shan and Scott Westerfeld, and Siberia by someone Hoffman... I forget her name. >< Oh. And the Twilight series, but in this day and age, it's a given, isn't it.
