Aliza had been stood outside the door of the duelling arena concealed in the shadows, and watched as stephy entered. Usually she would have entered first in order to give herself an advantage but in this tournament she decided to play a little differently. And being sneaky was just one of those ways.

She ran toward the door - being especially light on her feet so that stephy wouldn't hear and pressed her ear to the door. She could just about hear the spells that stephy had used and so began to think of ways to combat them. Firstly, she had made the floor sticky by the door. Surely that wouldn't be too hard to combat...

And stephy had also made trees grow out of the ground - that was strange to be sure. Still, she could work with it.

When she was sure that stephy was finished she went through everything in her mind. She was ready. Firstly she needed to prepare herself for actually entering the room. She had to do several things: try to make herself inconspicuous, get past the sticky floor and spot stephy before she was spotted herself.

To make herself inconspicous she tried to think of something that would out do stephy's spell. Then it came to her. Pointing her wand at herself she decided to perform a disillsionment charm. She felt a strange trickling down her neck and when she looked down she couldn't see herself properly. So, what was next?

She had to be able to see stephy when she went into the room. What was the best thing to do? Should she expose stephy or try to see her without stephy knowing she was there. The latter was the most favourable option. After a little bit of mind-exploration she remembered the muggle device that utlised a person's heat in order to disclose their location - it was perfect. And there was a spell that used the same technique...if only she could remember it!! It was something to do with thermal vision, just not in english. Latin? No. Italian? Yes! It was Italian! "visione termica" (thermal vision). Now stephy's thermal image would show up clearly.

And the final thing before she could enter was the sticky floor. It wasn't much of an obstacle really. All she had to do was levitate herself over the floor. She did so without much trouble and suddenly felt herself two feet above the floor. It was a little like being on a broom but without the security. It was an awfully strange feeling.

Finally she was ready. She quickly performed the spell for silent entry (entrée silencieuse) and opened the door. Luckily stephy wouldn't see the door opening because of the foliage. She probably didn't realise that she'd hindered herself more than she'd helped.

Aliza glided over the sticky floor and set herself down on the ground, glad to have the ground underneath her feet. She looked up at the trees and saw the figure of stephy showing up in red on her thermal vision. She decided to keep the thermal vision and the disillusionment charm, sure that they would help her out later on.

Keeping quiet - her voice barely above a whisper - Aliza sent a volley of spells up at stephy. Starting with "descendo" so that stephy would fall. After that she simply let out a stream of spells, whatever first came into her mind. "Expelliaramus! Incindio! Petrificus Totalus! Diffindio!" (Diffindo = severing charm)

Content with her work, Aliza leaned against a tree, keeping an eye on stephy. Waiting to see what she would do. As far as Aliza was concerened there wasnt much that she could to - she had been disarmed, had fire shot at her, been petrified AND had a severing charm thrown at her. Still, you could never be sure of things in these duels. And as a way to back up that thought she performed a shield charm, it would prevent her against many things that stephy threw at her.
