There are an unlimited number of numbers in the word. And people think that numbers are just numbers. Yet certain numbers have different meanings in this world. For example, number one can mean the best in some cultures or quite low in others. Ten is usually the best when you've ranked something one through ten. Yet the number that is most associated with importance and luck is the number seven.

Muggles tend to think that the number 7 is lucky. The reason is that they consider the number 7 to be a very important number that is very symbolic in ancient events of the world. There are seven Wonders of the World, seven days of the week, seven heavens and seven hells, seven pillars of the universe, seven circles of the galaxy, Seven Deadly Sins, the list could go on and on. Yet it's not only theses reason that the number seven is so important. Many religions, mythology, and cultures have stories that consider the number seven to be an important number. Christians follow the Seven Sacraments, Seven joys and Seven Sorrows, and even the story of the Creation of the world has the important number seven. God worked and created the world in six days and on the seventh day, he rested. In Buddist religions, there are seven steps of Buddha to reach the highest stage of peacefulness and calm spirit. In Hebrew, there are seven pillars of wisdom, and seven holy days in a Jewish year. Mythology also pulls a very important role to this number. There are Seven Wise men of Greece and Pan (the god of music0 have seven strings on his magical harp. The seven pointed star is called the Witch Star which stands for mystery and magic. Yet placing the importance on the number seven does not lie on muggles alone! Wizards have also placed importance on this magical number. The greatest proof is Lord Voldemort and the Horcuxes. He has made seven Horcuxes to make his immortality more magical and powerful. Wherether or not this "lucky/magical" number is al in the mind is still unknown. Yet the more people place importance on this number, the more important it may become in the future!
