Press Conference: Raistlin the Wizard

This is the thread for Raistlin the Wizard's press conference. In this thread you will be fielding questions asked by the press (myself) and judged on how well you handle it.

So come in, get yourself settled behind a microphone, and await the first journalist...

Camera bulbs flashed as Raistlin entered the room and sat behind the table. Journalists jostled each other to be the first to ask a question.

"Raistlin, Norah Simms from Cosmowitch. What's your response to the naysayers who believe your acts won't turn up for their performance?"

"Raisty, can I call you Raisty? Anyway, I'm Tom Lyons from the number one selling Wizarding lad's mag, Wands. Our readers are very interested in the rumours that one of your acts has had a little Magic Surgery. What have you got to say about that?"

The reporter from Wands looked a little scared as Raistlin replied. Then, as he heard the second part of his reply, he grinned.

"Your ambiguity speaks volumes, Raistlin," he said, "any chance that your magically enhanced act will pose for us?"

Thoroughly abashed, Tom Lyons sat down and let another reporter take his place.

"Raistlin, Raistlin! Lucy Bryans from Witch Weekly. Your fellow judge Etta is quoted as saying that you've already offered a contract to one of your acts. What do you have to say about this, and if it's true, why should the audience bother voting for them if they're already assured a job?"

Lucy looked stunned as Raistlin dashed out of the room. She wanted an answer though, so remained standing for when her would return.

"Raistlin, Bruce Simkiss from The Angry Elf. It seems there's some sort of rivalry between you and fellow judge Etta. Has this been sparked by envy? Or is there a more sinister story behind it?"

"My dear wizard, all of the people in this room are professionals. Your lack of response to the questions only makes us more certain that there is truth to the rumours..."

"Mr. Wizard, Tamara Hipton from The Daily Prophet. We've heard that you have aspirations to be the next Dark Lord, and your acts are already forming themselves as your followers with the name "Death Munchers". What's the truth to this?

Several of the reporters looked worried, and a short, pudgy journalist at the back let out a whimper of fear.

A tall, robust, ruddy-cheeked man was not to be deterred however and jumped in with a new question.

"Raistlin, your actions have always been very pro-Slytherin. How do you feel about the fact you're not mentoring any members of Slytherin house?"

The ruddy-cheeked man nodded.

"I see. So you're not worried that if one of your acts wins, you'll lose out on a hoarde of housepoints?"

The name's Daniel Lewis," the man said, before sitting down and scribbling on his paper.

"Raistlin," began another reporter, "I'm here reporting for Quidditch Monthly. Slytherin have seen some pretty big defeats in their Quidditch games of late, and as the Head of House, this is surely embarassing for you?"

The reporter from Quidditch Monthly raised his eyebrow, but said nothing more as he scratched something down onto his parchment.

Just then, a harried looking bald man ran into the room.

"Witches and Wizards, the press conference is over for today. Raistlin will be returning tomorrow to answer more of your questions, so make sure you're here bright and early!"

The balding wizard stepped up onto the stage again.

"Witches and Wizards, your attention please! I'd like to thank you all for your patience, the press conference can once again begin."

A young blonde witch stood up.

"Raistlin, you're the only mentor with a group act. Do you think this gives you a better chance at winning?"

"Who will you be voting for?" Asked the next reporter, "Judges will have the opportunity to vote too, so where will yours be cast?"

"How are you going to encourage others to vote for your acts? How's the campaign trail going?"

"Raistlin," began a reporter, "you hold a lot of responsibility being Head of Slytherin house. Do you think that experience has held you in good stead for being a Talent X mentor?"

The press conference is now over, and scores will be up shortly.
