| Parted-at-birth twins 'married'
This has been all over the news recently and I feel so sad for the couple as to find out that you love someone so much you want to marry them and then to discover that you are actually twins separated at birth - i cant begin to imagine what they must be going through. The full story can be found here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7182817.stm

| I heard that on the radio this morning!
the announcer guy said they must be very narcissistic to be attracted to their twin selves...which I found amusing xD
But I also feel bad for them, it must be hard enough having to get a divorce RIGHT after getting married...and to your TWIN nonetheless. And finding out you HAVE a twin is just like...*whoa*. So they're going through a lot...and it's publicized...ouch

| Lol. I find this really creepy. But its kinda funny too. :D
...But Gin. Their identities are being hidden.
The funniest thing was, when I was reading the newspaper report it said, "the twins felt an instant reaction." THAT made me lol.
...But other than that it is kinda sad, I feel bad for them.
But this actually raises a whole set of other issues, like spern donors. What happens if a sperm donor gives out his sperm to a whole bunch of women and they have kids. The kids don't know who their father is so brothers and sisters could end up doing stuff like this! And thats also really creepy.
So yeah, my advice, don't ever get a sperm donor without knowing who he is! xD

| Well, although their identities are being hidden from the press, they still have to hear people TALK about it...and people close to them probably know about it...
And people around them are going to eventually find out. "Oh, how come Bob and Mary-Lynn aren't married anymore? They got divorced? Hmmm"

| Awful. Just awful. This is one of the reasons why open adoptions are so much more popular nowadays than closed ones. Although I heard a worse story once, where the couple got married and were blissfully happy until they had a baby...and the baby was horribly deformed and died. And then they did some research into why they would have such a deformed baby, and well...terribly awkward and embarrassing, of course. | |

| There's been a similar case in Germany, although they weren't twins, they were just normal siblings separated at birth. Seems that it's something biological that siblings who didn't grow up together are more likely to fall in love with each other when they do meet later in life.
Anyhow, in the Germany case, they even got children. 2 out of 3 were taken away and put into foster care though, and those were also the ones born with malformations. Their 3rd child was luckily healthy. And the man went to jail several times for incest and now their case is debated by the High Court, they are debating whether to abolish that law.
Hm, yeah... tough fate. :/

| This is kinda funny but i feel bad for those people. Its kind of creepy to, imagine marrying someone and then finding out that he/she is your twin. I wonder how they felt after they foundout about it or if they stil talk to each other because that would be kind of akward. | |

| There was a while ago a document of siblings parted at birth or young age, that later met, and "fell in love". I watched the document out of boredom - with my brother - and when we looked at each other, we both cringed and went "GAAAHH!!!!!"
I can't even IMAGINE feeling LIKE THAT towards my brother - yet if it was my twin! But then again, we weren't parted at birth xD

| Actually, I can imagine feeling like that towards my brother, if he were just some random guy I met.
I mean think about it - we share a lot of the same opinions and bad habits, we get along well, he's really good-looking, we even have some of the same pet peeves and can discuss abstract theories for hours...why WOULDN'T I like him?
(Of course, the answer is, because as much as I love him, he annoys the heck out of me. I know him too well. And in some ways we're too similar to get along. Like if he ever moves in with his family over the holidays, it's such a relief when they finally leave. And also, it's icky. xD But if he weren't my brother, none of this would apply...and if I hadn't grown up with him being my brother, none of this would apply either...)

| If I think about it like that, well... I still couldn't xD I mean, we're TOO different - I'm the crazy lunatic who beats up people if the disagree with me, and he's the one trying to find a peaceful way to solve stuff :D Oh, and too overprotective :D | |

| This was what I always feared would happen to my cousin. He has siblings he only just learned exist, and for all we know he may have more that his father doesn't even know of. I know it's incredibly unlikely, but it is possilbe. | |
