Challenge: A Year from Now.

Hello everyone, a nice simple class to open the new term.

What I want you to do is very easy, take a member from this site and predict what the next twelve months hold in store for them.

It can be any member, preferably someone who you don’t talk to/see every day.

So, let me think, min word count is 300 words, max is 600.

Now the house points. Everyone will receive 50 house points for taking part (and staying within the word counts) however; thanks to the new change in the house points I’m going to turn this into a small challenge!

So, the person to come in first place will receive an additional 50 points

Person in second will receive an additional 30 house points

And the person who comes in third will receive an additional 15 house points.

To make this fair, i shall chose my three favourite and ask another member of staff (without revealing who the author of the homework is) to tell me their favorites in order of 1, 2 and 3, this will then determine the winners!

So, get cracking everyone!

EDIT: This is now worth a possible 70 points and there will be no more 1-3 place.

Streams of Silver: A Year from Now

Feb 08
Streams will be happy that Hufflepuff have just won the house cup so she'll be celebrating with her dear friend Etta with firewhisky and hunky lifeguards.

March 08
Streams will go to the fortune teller to see what she should do this year. Upon discovering that she should go visit Santa, she packs her bag and jumps on a nearby plane by pushing the pilot out the window and turning the plane to her own destination.


April 08
Since spring is here, she'd go on a trip to the North Pole, claiming that she hates the spring weather and the spell of flowers. Alas, everyone knows that she really went to go find Santa Claus since she was armed with a toy request list -just in case everyone already requested what she had wanted and she would get coal…again.

May 08
Streams will be annoyed that she had seen the sign ‘Sold’ on the tip of North Pole. She looks on the internet to see where Santa had moved too. She’d then need a spell to wire her jaws back together after hitting her mouth on the table in shock in discovering that Santa now lives in Spain.

June 08
For the summer, Streams had planned a trip to Spain, claiming she is a secret agent. After flying over, she discovered that her handy dandy translator does not work and she didn’t know how to speak Spanish. Slightly discouraged, she flies back home to take a month course of Spanish.

July 08
Streams is now fluent in Spanish, Chinese and Yiddish after walking into the wrong class two times. She grabs her suitcase and flies to Spain. Arriving at the address, she is assaulted by a man wearing a hula skirt that grabs her and forces her to eat chocolate for a month before dumping her into the ocean.

August 08
Tired from her swim, she arrives at an island and throws up chocolate on one of the palm trees then sleeps for 8days straight due to sheer exhaustion. When she wakes up, she texts to Etta back at HE she waits for her friend to pick her up.

Sept 08
Back at home, she resolves to hate Santa . Why doesn’t he tell her his address –she even yearned Yiddish for him! Angry with the obese jolly old man, she makes posters and parade around the streets shouting “Stupid Santa” over and over.

Oct 08
After a whole month of marching and yelling, her voice is hoarse – but good news, a little boy has joined her! She marches at night and the boy marches in the morning. She decides the boy, Billybob, is a good group member since he had even participates in her one of a kind wack-a-santa booth during the Halloween Fair.

Nov 08
With her friend Billybob, she vists Etta at HE learning that Hufflepuff was not doing so good since her absence. She stabs the keyboard a few times and starts participating in classes. Between Billybob and her, they win Hufflepuff 5000 points and Billybob becomes top poster – becoming an undergraduate in a week.

Dec 08
The stores are all decorated with fake Santas so with Billybob and a reluctant Etta they smash the window downtown and steal all the Santas. Over the next few weeks, they burn them one by one over a campfire.

Jan 09
To her anger and disappointment many people still got presents from Santa while she only got 1/3 of a lump of coal. The rest went to Billybob and Etta.

Feb 09
A year’s gone past and Streams is resolved to stop thinking about Santa this year and proceeds to go to the fortune teller to see what she should do this year...

(600 words if you don't count the titles xD)

JANUARY:
You're ready to meet a challenge, one that will seem almost impossible. Some will call you crazy, but crazy is letting opportunities slip by. Around this time, trying to decide how close you should get to a certain person. The solution? -just check out his or her friends. You will be ready to embark on an exciting journey involving love real soon.


FEBURARY:
Love around you will be on fire, unique and obvious. You will never find someone who admires you so. Consider taking some time alone with the person whether it be for an hour or a weekend. Stay in tune with that love and perhaps this month of love will help flourish your desires.


MARCH
This month is all about second chances for you. Think back on the things you have regretted for all your life. Everyone deserves a second chance to redeem for missteps and I feel you have taken yours harshly. It's time to make the most use of to try and not think of thos massive guilts. Live life.


APRIL
Someone in your life is going to need constant attention. They will need to be taken care of more so than usual. Yet, you'll be so busy with other things, this is the time to ask for assistance and take time off. You'll find you'll be happy for the vacation.


MAY:
Go after that thing that makes you want to hide. Ambition and courage will overtake you this spring. The more get going you are, the more support you shall earn. Friends and strangers will constantly seek to you for futur oppotunities and advice. You'll gain in popularity because of this, so you might want to stay alert.



JUNE:
It's time to let go of socializing, buckle down, get to work and make back some of that money you've been spending. You'll be greedy and stingy this month, perhaps a little stressed over your earnings. You might want to take a break every once in awhile. Maybe a massage or spa would be a good time to look into.



JULY
The urge to act impulsively will be strong, but not really all that wise. You should write down your thoughts before acting on them. You might do something you will regret and have no control over.



AUGUST
You are very appealing to the opposite sex now. The one you are with, will be overlyprotective and jealous. You will also be glowing this time of month with radiance and peace. This is the time of month to start catching up on things to be done. You might want to TiVo any favorite shows.




SEPTEMBER
Luck will be on your side this month or maybe a dream of yours will come true. Act. Ask for help. Others will care as much as you do about moving your vision forward. This month is all about doing things with others and mending with friends.



OCTOBER
Don't let conflict drag on -- it should be easy to solve. Chance is on your side. So the best solution to a problem could very well be a flip of the coin. Don't depend on it too much because there is a dark cloud hanging too.


NOVEMBER
A happy month for you and family. Wonderful contributations and be sure to receive graciously too, or you rob the giver of the wonderful benefits of generosity.


DECEMBER
Get distance from stressful scenarios so you can sort through them. Humor heals. A movie ticket to the latest comedy is just what the doctor, and the financial advisor, ordered.

February, 2008: I see Polly deciding to change positions on the Ravenclaw team. Instead of being a keeper she will, for reasons she can’t quite explain, decide to try-out for the position of seeker. Stephy will be her competition, but due to a broom complication will lose out.

March, 2008: As winter rolls into spring, I see Polly excelling in all her classes. However, the class she will begin to shine most in will be Potions, much to her surprise. She will find herself struggling in Herbology.

April, 2008: While at a cousin’s birthday party, Polly will trip in a rabbit hole. She will suffer a broken wrist, and will be unable to attend an important quidditch match. However, the team will win anyway.

May, 2008: Polly will be surprised when she is asked to a formal by her crush. She should wear light green as that will bring her good luck. If she chooses to wear pink, however, she will be stood-up.

June, 2008: As summer progresses, Polly will dive into her OWLs. Now that her regular classes are pretty much over, she will have the time to dedicate to achieving some. She would be wise to start with Arithmancy, as that will prove to be simplest for her.

July, 2008: While on a holiday in New Zealand, Polly will meet a young Maori wizard. However, she’ll never know that he is a true wizard. They will spend much of the summer together. The day before she leaves for home, she will catch him with another girl. Needless to say she won’t be missing him too much.

August, 2008: Attempting to get in touch with nature, Polly will go on a camping trip. Although she will have problems getting her tent put up, and will have to adjust to not having modern conveniences, Polly will find the experience to be quite liberating. Unfortunately, she will have to leave early due to a sudden series of storms.

September, 2008: As the 6th year begins, Polly will find herself being asked to fill the position of Ravenclaw head of house. She will accept. However, due to the new demands of her position and other responsibilities both at HE and in her real life, she will have to drop quidditch for the year.

October, 2008: Not much is in store for Polly for this month. She will go to a Halloween party dressed as Delores Umbrige. Only one person will realize who she is, and the costume will be so frightening that the person will actually run away.

November, 2008: As the end of 2008 approaches, Polly will begin to rethink her career ambitions. She will begin to feel a pull toward politics. She will take this into consideration as she’s signing up for her next term’s classes, and will forge an unlikely alliance with a classmate whom she’d once considered an enemy.

December, 2008: For Christmas, Polly will receive a hand-knitted scarf in the Prisoner of Azkaban pattern. However, she will be quite disappointed to see that it is green and silver. She will give it to Rai. At first he’ll be excited, but then he will find out that it was a recycled present, and will take it out on her during a duel.

January, 2009: As the new calendar year begins, Polly will begin to rethink her life choices thus far. A new look on life will emerge, prompting her to join the Death Eaters. However, it will be revealed that she was really placed under an imperius curse by Stephy. They’ll still remain friends in the end, though.

February, 2008
You can get a lot done if you get your hands on the right equipment. Your charm and generosity will bring new friends and romantic opportunities. Help with your aspirations is likely, and profits could follow. Use your head and do things to your liking.

March, 2008
You could be quite erratic regarding your personal relationship. Travel in pursuit of pleasure and knowledge. Help if you can, but more than likely it will be sufficient just to listen. You can beautify your surroundings by renovating or redecorating.

You may have been too agreeable to someone who just wanted to use you. Don't push your luck with authority figures. You'll have amazing ideas, but superiors may try to block your attempts at implementing them. This will not be the day to have minor surgery.


June, 2008
You will want to complain about the in justice that is going on, Look into joining groups that can give you hands-on advice about business. Someone left a real mess for you to sift through. You may be fortunate while traveling.


July, 2008
Travel for pleasure will be enticing. Take time to do some writing, whether it's correspondence, poetry, or keeping a journal. Don't let someone you work with put words in your mouth. Your fickle nature may cause jealousy


August, 2008
Be careful not to confuse issues when discussing the matters at hand. Be cautious of making any residential changes this week. You need to do more research before you make your final decision. Try to be fair in your dealings with acquaintances

September, 2008
Don't be too eager to start any debates. Avoid lending or borrowing. Escapist tendencies may lead to overindulgence. You are best to keep your cash in a safe place.


October, 2008
Don't let emotional upset force you into the poorhouse. Family trips or projects should be on your mind. If you take on too much, you will find your self in martyrdom. You may have a tendency to put on weight


November, 2008
Your ability to put things together will be appreciated by your comrades. Difficulties with older females in your family may turn out to be quit trivial after all. Satisfy your passionate mood. You'll find travel or involvement in large groups gratifying.

December, 2008
Matters pertaining to your home environment will be favorable if you are direct. You will find that friends or relatives may not understand your needs. You will have difficulties spreading yourself between your work and your home. Your ability to relate will close the generation gap.


January, 2009
Evasion is likely if you aren't direct about your feelings. You may have problems with those you live with. You may be experiencing emotional turmoil in regard to your mate. You'll be an emotional basket case this week. Don't take any comments too seriously

April- Pickle will be his happy, cheerful self.....although he will still be in a range that I got my braces before him, but will continue to greet me with a pat on the head or a hug and saying what he always says, "Hello my little friend!" But he will also be raging that thesnitch.co.uk is closed and for sale!!!!!! Which means all our hard work and fan fics are gone!!!!! AHHHHHHH

May- Pickle may find me thumping him on the arm alot more for no apparent reason (Well, I need someone to take exam stress out on....as does he.....forget I mentioned it)

June- The whole school seems to be revising, and even Pickle can be seen in the music room revising for a maths exam...but once the exams are over, he doesn't have to worry any more...lucky him...he knows he's done well enough to sustain his top of the class position.

July- Pickle will probably be seen out and about, talking about the episode of "Charmed" he watched last night.

August- Fun in the sun....if we get sun at all here this summer.....but alas, Pickle starts to miss me and my weird ways, and he even misses school!

September- Pickle will be celebrating that he made it to third year. He will be starting to make fun of me, by doing impressions of me falling while revealing the result of my future bassoon exam, but I will forgive him in time, and we will talk about the Harry Potter movie coming out on the 18th November (just FYI Pickle) and hopefully watching a new Potter Puppet Pals episode (if Neil Cicierega makes another one)

October- Still talking about the new HP movie that is to be released on the 18TH NOVEMBER. Will still be happy and saying "WooHoo" alot.

November- "HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE IS OUT" Pickle will cry, and him and I will jump around the music room happily and do the 'Surfing USA' dance move.

December- Pickle and I will hopefully be in another school production and have a laugh. He will also be playing the trumpet in the school orchestra...but alas...he is forced to.

January- Pickle and I still talking about Harry Potter...and I predict we all (the music room gang) will be kicked out of are domain because of a staff shortage...aka no one to supervise at luch.

February- Pickle will be pondering over choosing his GCSE's in two mouths time.....but will still be happy...much happier than me anyway.

March- One month till Pickle chooses GCSE's... the nerves start to mount to a high peek....but he will still be happy.

April- "What is this rumpass!" Pickle will exclaim, because he has just seen the lines for GCSE. Not as he expected....these really are tough choices.
