Hello people of earth, or should I say Ciao! This is Dani Sunset reporting from Ragusa in Italy as Day one of my ricerca(quest). I just got shipped here I guess you could say, just sucked out of my muggle calculus class and now I'm here in Ragusa! Can you believe it! Well I sure can't, but get this, other than this camping equipment I got handed I also got this stack of notebooks. Okay maybe not a stack but theres a couple here, one labeled Instructions, a blank one, (well it's not blank anymore), and this other one called "A Kitsune and You" and get this, it's about...KITSUNES! If you didn't know a Kitsune is a magical being in the form of a Fox, the most powerful ones can have up to nine tails, however Andy only has one.

Kakit Andrea Windsong is with me, my "faithful" kitsune compainion. She does prefer to be called Andy though. She keeps muttering under her breath, stupid human, so I don't think she likes me all that much. But I don't care, she seems nice to me and I guess I'm just trying to be friendly. I did build a fire earlier and she kept laughing at my stupid attempts but I was determined not to use my wand, I want to use it as little as possible out here, but oh well I guess.

Andy says she wants to get started on this quest by heading into Ragusa tonight, but I'm not sure, even though I've been there before I don't think it'll be the best idea to go at night. But Andy keeps pointing out that vampires only come out at night. Maybe I'll listen to her, but I don't know she has been sleeping curled up under this elm tree all day.

Let me tell you about the trip to the woods here we had to take a train with Andy desguised as my pet fox, maybe that's why shes in such a fix. We had to "get off" the train early which wasn't to fun, we had to jump out of it about three miles from Ragusa's stopping point. It said so in the first page of the instructions, we weren't suppose to let any body see us at the station. And now I have grass stains all over my favorite jeans!

It's about three in the afternoon, so I should probably get to sleep Andy, I'm sure will, wake me if we are going to go to Ragusa in the dead of night.

Andy made us go.

We left camp at 11pm and hiked up to the village, it wasn't too bad, as we walked along the road up to the town on the hill we passed a couple of giggling tourists it kinda reminded me about when I had first come to Italy, but that wasn't what was what made me remember this group of girls. It looked like something was following them, something not completly human. When I tried to point it out to Andy it was already gone. Spooky huh?

When we finally made it to the center of Ragusa, it didn't look like there was anything going on, nothing, zip, nadda. Pretty boring, I wanted to head back up Andy made us stay. We must've sat on that stone wall for five hours! When we finally saw dawn coming over the mountains she suggested we get out of there, and we did. But we're travling again today, flying on a broom, heading north towards Catania there's been news of a couple un-explained murders. It might not mean anything but there's been three in the past week, if it is a vampire he isn't working alone.

Speaking of alone, I don't think Andy and I are alone either, I keep getting the feeling that something followed us from Ragusa, but it's probably a bad mix of too much caffine and lack of sleep. All this traveling has given Andy and I a chance to talk, here's a bit of what went on.

"Hey Andy," I say. "How do Kitsunes' gain their tails."

"Stupid mortal," she says under her breath. "They're not just tails their a status of power and seniority."

"What do you have to do to gain one?"

"You have to prove yourself."

"So going on this trip might help you gain one?"

"It might, now shut up I'm trying to sleep."

"Sure, sure" I say and shut up like I'm told.

Andy seems nice but I think she's kinda depressed because she only has one tail, maybe that's it. Well whatever's got her jumpers in a knot I hope its gone before we find vampires. Because it's not the greatest to have a depressed kitsune around, their magical powers are less powerful when they're sad.

This is weird though, when I went to sleep once we landed outside of Catania I told Andy to keep watch and when I woke up she had a loaf of bread and a bottle of wine in her mouth, when I asked her where she got it she just shrugged. This just makes me think she stole, Kitsunes often do that I think.

Note to Self: Kitsunes steal, watch your back, but I think I can trust Andy.

Catania is beautiful, I told Andy that we should go to the city earlier so we can get a gist of things, and it was incredible. I say a couple of places that vampires could hang out, bars for instince, I swore the bartender of this place we went into had over large canines but after he took my order he didn't say anything else. Andy was really put out seeing as she was once more disguised as my pet. Leash and all, but that's what the instructions said, 'Keep the kitsune on a leash within cities during day light, it might be weird to have a fox as a pet but it wont be as weird as if they saw you talking to a fox.' Andy keeps growling and checking over her shoulder, which makes me wonder what's up.

That night we wandered up and down the streets of Catania, and now I'm sure that there are Vampires in Italy. I'm sure there was someone following us. Almost possitive, but Andy didn't notice anything, we were busy following someone ourself. We saw a young man with a pretty American girl on his arm, he had a redish tint in his eyes and pale skin, we followed them for a few hours, but then Andy got really jumpy and said we had to get out of there fast! I ran after her and we lost the young man, it sounded like there was a fight going on behind us as we fled, I wonder what happened back there.

After that we got back to camp and I started to read the instructions, they clearly state that we, meaning Andy and I, are suppose to visit as many cities as we can on our way through Rome, Flourence, then Venice, if we spot something I'm suppose to write it in my journal like :Insident and place. So...

Andy and I are going to be on a different schedual traveling in the morning, sleeping in the afternoon, waking up sometime in the evening, scoping out the city at night.

There ya go, we're about to depart to Messina in a couple minutes, Andy just barked at me to 'hurry it up' I'll write more about our adventures in Messina tomorrow.

First of all it's not really May fourth, but I have to say that. But then again I have to start at the beginning of Messina, our adventure our hell filled week...

We stepped into the city around nine, Andy didn't like the idea of being on a leash again so we had to leave later. We stuck to the shadows mostly and stepped into a bar around midnight after scoping out the gerneral idea of the town. It was Andy's idea to go to the bar, she said that we can "find something there". Whatever that ment.

I was hanging out on the porch in the grassy back area of the bar siping my rum'and'coke when I was tapped on the shoulder, I was expecting to see Andy but instead the face of a dark haired man was there instead.

"Care to Dance?" He asked even though the music wasn't really suggesting dancing more like a sit down dinner kinda music. He flicked his fingers at the band and they picked up on a jazz/swing song. I'm a sucker for swing.

Under the table however Andy was getting restless and started growling as I put my hand into mr. hotties. I swear I could hear my name in that growl.

Never before had I danced that fast with someone equally talented at swing. HE could move like no other and the music was a steady guide. But underneath his Pretty mask was a...there I go getting ahead of myself...

We danced for a few more songs, some slow and some fast, all the while he held me in his arms. It was during one of the slow songs when I noticed two tiny pin prick scars on his neck. I gasped and he asked what was wrong and I could see the razor sharp teeth sitting there waiting to dig into the neck of some unsepecting beauty. I realized that unsepecting girl would be me.

"I have to check on my dog," I muttered lamely and turned to look back at Andy but she wasn't there. "Andy?" I asked bending over so I could look under the table. She wasn't there I turned back to Mr. Hottie Vamp and said. "What did you do to my dog?"

"Your kitsune?" He asked smiling evily. Suddenly I felt whoosie and I remembered this dude had bought three of my drinks that night. Swaying on my feet I felt myself pass out. Only to wake up the next day....

Waking up I could feel my hands strapped down over my head like an insane person on a table. I Heard a noise in the corner and turned my head as little as I could. Andy was over there, a mussel on her snout, the metal brace was chained to a wall as well. It seemed like we were in a medival dungeon.

Footsteps brought me back to reality and I felt a warm breath on my neck.

"Something so young and beautiful as yourself shouldn't be medeling in the affairs of the Night." A familar voice said. Turning my head again I could see into the dark eyes that had swept me off my feet the night before.

"Where am I?" I asked. It was totally unorignal but it was the only thing I could come up with, besides location might help her when it was time to escape.

"You my dear dear Dani are in Rome, the underground city of course." The man said

Rome?! How the hell did I end up in rome? Wasn't I just in Messina? Of course it wouldn't take a vampire long to get from there to here. I sighed and looked up at my captor.

"Who are you?"

He seemed stunned by this question like he wasn't really expecting it. "I don't know," He answered honestly. "Some call me Sin."

"So Sin, am I a vampire?" I asked.

"Not yet." Sin said then left.

I sguirmed on the metal table, my ankels were strapped down and my left foot was falling asleep. In about three hours nothing happened, other than me trying to twist my wrist out of the ropes only to end up making them bleed, which scared me, if the vampires were to drink my blood I was sure they could smell it. I passed out within the next hour....
