well your own the right track

The branches stretch far and wide,
The leaves they’ve fallen down.
The trunk remains,
The roots insane,
This kingdom and it’s crown.

Okay, lets see...what words from each line go together...

Branches, leaves, truck, roots...they go together but I don't see what fits with them for the last one!!

okay..staying out of trouble refers to filch's cabinet...or does it mean it's not in there! ugh! so confused! if it is in Filch's cabinet will it be one of the top ones?

well now you're in filch's you should have paid attention to this

outside...or in a forest...which leads to filch cabinet again...and someone else said they were funny so it has to be a funny thread...am I still heading in that general direction?

It is very possible it is a locked thread
looking at the open one will help.
It is mixed and mingled in with some others.. might take a while.
But the one word in the topic name is reresented in the first line
What do you think when you hear the first line?
Then your just gonna have to go page by page.
ctrl + f and some keywords will do the trick.

By the way, rather than doing ctrl F for 'riddle' you should do 'horcrux' or 'hunt' as some of the later ones are tasks rather than riddles...

STAY OUT OF TROUBLE..

i get the general area (like the main thread) where it is from reading all the clues but using the 'hippo' clue is hard since there a many threads that contain 'hippo'

Perhaps the hippo was simply saying hello? Maybe Elfie was just saying hello, or I was?

Remember that whilst the clues in the thread should help, look at the riddle itself as the most important thing and not focus on the clues overly much. If you misinterpret a clue, you may find yourself led down the wrong path.

That said, hopefully you'll be able to fight your way out of the tangled forest of clues. Wood you like any more help?
