HE and You

What does HE mean to you? What have been your best bits since you joined? Write a short (or long!) piece about what HE means to you.

H.E. The Hogwarts Experience well what does it mean to you? because I think all of these are going to be quite similar. To me the H.E. is like a second home. I come on here for approximately two hours after school everyday and I enter a different world. There’s always something to do and I always wish that I could just spend all day on here. H.E. is my obsession I get H.E. sick when I’m away. Even more so than I miss home. If the site shut down I know this may sound a bit mellow dramatic but apart of me would too. Currently the only thing I am doing on the internet is going on H.E. I still can’t believe that’s its been two years! But anyway back on topic. I joined in the first ever term but I was not very active I made it to a 3rd year and came on when I could. I also remember the dreadful day when H.E. did not work and that was when I was not obsessed I cannot imagine what it would be like now. It really is just like entering another world. Sometimes I worry more about the points and things I do for Ravenclaw than silly pieces of Homework like P.E. and I wish that I could just stay on the computer and do them all. But the main thing that stands out for me is the feelings I get. For example when ever I am made prefect my stomach gets butterfly’s and I tend to run around the house screaming. The next day everyone of my friends will know I have been made prefect. The feeling also comes in small doses when I pass things such as exams it always gives me a small buzz of happiness. But speaking of happiness everyone of the people on this site make me happy. They all make me smile especially my Ravenclaw’s. Well there not mine but I love them all. *tackles huggles* I always have a huge smile come over my face when I see the masses of things being done by the Ravenclaw’s mainly Herby, stephums and rigby ^.^. I don’t think H.E. would be as amazing if I didn’t love all the people so much and they weren’t all just so great.
Though speaking of people everyone is always so active which also makes it such a good site as it never comes to a stand still or freeze theres always something going on or something happening. Which is not always the same on other sites. Sure they have the discussion boards but they don’t have the events and challenges that make this site amazing. Were unique and I love that about us. Whenever I go on a different site I like them but nothing ever compares to H.E. The site has always motivated me within my school work as before I used to get the grades but be stressing about them and doing things last minute and in the morning but now I am more motivated and I always feel that’s its because of H.E. Everyone on here always works so hard and achieves at school it made me want to keep on top of my homework and that’s something I feel I have started to achieve.
Though I could go on forever about how amazing H.E. is I really don’t feel that words can explain just how amazing the site is and to each of the active members I think H.E. will mean something similar. Its an amazing site and I’m still going to be here when I’m old! ^.^ mooohar your not getting rid of me that easily. XD

Me and HE...where to begin?

The beginning would be a good place, so back in time we go!

I joined nearly two years ago (sometime in April '06) as a hyper thirteen year old who loved everything in the HP world. I was introduced to HE by Emma, who I met in the HPFF chat along with a few other members, and I'm proud to say I've been here (and actively) ever since! Whenever I stop and think about it, I'm amazed at the relationships that we have with each other here; we really do have a family, and when I realized that, at first I was shocked to see that I could get this close to people that I've never actually met. And now I'm grateful for that, because HE has become a place that I can come to anytime, whether I'm having a good or bad day, and know I'll be with people who I care about and who care about me, which will cheer me up immensely. There are many He'rs that I've come to know and love, many friendships that I hope to keep for years.

And as for favorite memories, I can't pin down specific ones, but what comes to mind usually includes at least one of these things: my house (RA RA RAVENCLAW!!!), my loves (*huggles you all*), rp, events, and MSN (You see, if it hadn't been for Amy and Tracy one day in Java Chat, I would never have gotten MSN, and so my life would be much different XD).

And to more clearly answer the question: HE is much more than a site to me and many others, it's a community where we all...hmm, there's a quote I want to put here:

The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved, loved for ourselves - say, rather, loved in spite of ourselves.

Here, I feel that we do love each other for who we are, and I love that about HE.

HE AND MOI

There's no other site that has the same feeling of true friendship that this site. Many of us goes back to HPFF times, and many of us are still close (Cill, Gooey, Lizzie...). Many of us still wish we could go back in time, and have some of the old beloved members back. Even if the site does change on daily basis, we will never forget those warm summer days when it was just simply too hot to go out, so you sat inside and googled pictures of Siberia xD That was the summer when we spent day in, day out on HE, in the dear chat room - yes, you could come there at any hour of the day, and there would always be someone. Now... there's no one. The evuhl chat box is msot of the time dead, too.

But nontheless, we love HE. Atleast I do. I would consider myself and oldie, and I would consider myself a part of the site - even if I am no one special. I haven't doen much for my house, I haven't done much for the site, but I have shared many memories during these two years we've all been together; through the crazy, hyper and happy times, through the sad, and dramatic times - we've been a lot, but we wouldn't change a thing, I'm sure HE and You 436937

...sometimes I laugh at some old posts and PM's between myself and other members, mostly between Cill and moi, or Roman and moi.

Elfie - I can never say what a brilliant person you truly are. I'm amazed that you haven't gotten all big headed and arrogant because of the major popularity of the site, but you stayed the same way through the years - a loving, kind and funny little creature.

You're like a stain you can't wash away - a stain you don't want to wash away, even! :D ...you're my favourite stain, poohie xD

What HE Means to Me, or Nerdy Girl Finally Finds a Home on the Net

Last year I joined right before the first anniversary of this site. We had a similliar challenge then, but I have to admit that as a newbie I mostly did it for the points. Okay, so not much has changed in some aspects, I still love earning points for my house, but there is so much that HAS changed. When I first joined I was here mainly for the homework, I didn't chat much and I really never expected to. Then I started to get involved with qudditch- the very first RPG I had ever done outside of one night in college when I played D&D at a friend of a friend's house. I had been sorted into Ravenclaw, and up until then had worked hard for my house, but before quidditch I never really knew my fellow housemates. That led me to start hanging out in the chatbox, to downloading msn chat and skype, and suddenly I was talking to everyone on the site. I hadn't come to this site to find friends, but here I was with a bunch of new friends.

I still like to do the homework and the challenges, I am a Nerd Herd girl at heart, but what keeps me coming back, what makes me work as hard as I do, is the people on this site. People who have helped me through rough times, people who I would like to think I have helped as well. This site is so much more than a Harry Potter site, it's a family. I love that one thing in common, our love for Harry Potter, can bring so many of us together. I love that fact that there is so many people from so many different countries, cities and states all online together.

The other day I was thinking, what if this site shut down? And the mere thought of that made my stomach churn. My husband and I are planning on moving to a new state next year, away from all our friends and family. As sad as I am to be leaving my close friends here in OK, I am happy that I don't even have to lose touch with my HE friends and family. That's pretty powerful. Who would have thought when I joined that this site would become so much a part of my life? How many times do we see newbies come on, do lots of posts and homeworks and then suddenly leave?

Although I probably don't do as much as I used to when it comes to homework I would like it pointed out that there is now SO MUCH to do on this site. I love that! I love how the site has grown. There are so many challenges, so many classes and exams and events, that I'm getting breathless at the thought merely from typing it. XD I want to be a part of HE's future, as I am now part of its past and present. Already a new generation of Ravenclaw (Alex!) and Slytherin (Aimee!) are being born!

I would list everyone on HE that I love, but it would be a far larger list than this post could hold. So if you are reading this then chances are excellant that your name is on that list. I can't wait for next semester, and I can't wait to continue being part of this incrediable site, this wonderful family. Thank you to Sharon and Amy, who saw something in me to make them give me a chance, thank you to all my Ravenclaws that cutely and blindly trust me to help lead them (I'm not sure if I've earned your devotion, but I will continue to try to be worthy), to all the other houses who push me and my house to work so hard, and to EVERYONE who makes this site something worth working at!

I really do think that the Sound of Music is the perfect say to start this. As very few of you know, the sound of music is what made me very close with a lot of people. I do believe it all has to start with a little thing called....HPFF chat. Ahh yes...that thing. I know none of you have let that leave your memories. *laughs* Oh...what good times we had on there! i think I liked singing the Sound of Music the most though. xD At the time, I was Liesl in the Sound of Music...and was sooo scared of my solo. XD But...this isn't really about HPFF...but that's where I'm starting it!!

So, I guess (as i said) this all starts at HPFF chat. *laughs again* Do you even remember where the hippo came from? I do. Someone was telling us that if you stood ina doorway with your hands on the sides or something, you could blance or something. Elfie then said something random about a hippo...and it all started from there. I know...I was there. :D

But...me joining HE basically has nothing to do with HPFF. Ok...so it does a LITTLE...but not a lot! The day Elfie made the site, Swifty sent me an IM on AIMtelling me to join this site. I put her off for a few days...then finally gave into her buggin' me. XD I am so glad that I did. Oh my goodness...I really am.

I remember when I first joined this site...i was not an active member. I really just thought that I would talk in chat with my old HPFF buds, and that'd be it.

WRONG!!

It turned out that the more I looked at the site...the more I wanted to just keep posting. My favorite thread used to be the siblings thread, because I always had so many funny stories to share. *giggles*

But, you know, I really grew to love this site...a lot. My goodness...there are just so many good memories here. It is just so hard to keeo them all in track.

I almost forgot....how silly of me...of how i got in Gryffindor!! You see....XD I kinda sorta made Elfie put me in Gryffindor. I do believe it was something like, "Please sort me....in Gryffindor or I really just might cry!" XD Yeah...XD I'm so glad she did, though! So very, very glad! (I love you guys!!!! <3333 WE HAVE AMY!...just saying.)

Remember those Truth or dare games we used to play? I remember one of them very well...Omg..ick. I know a few of you know what I'm talking about....but for those of you who don't...I might as well tell you. We used to have this member who was really..full of himself. He thought he really was a king. So, one day, we were playing T or D...and someone *cough* made me tell him I thought he was 'hott.' I think that was the day I dread the most. XD He never ever let me live that down. To this day people still talk about it.

I love how this site is always there for you. The members are just so....amazingly caring. They try to help you out as much as possible. It's just so amazing. I can always count on someone being there to talk to.

They are even helpful outside of the site. I know that I sometimes IM Amy and have a silly question for her...and you always answers me (even if it is like...the DUMBEST question she'd ever been asked. xD)

Everyone is just always so....happy. It just makes me smile. I can't even help but smile when I think about this site. Is that weird? Nah. It isn't. I just made up my mind about that. <3

This site to me has something really amazing to it. It was on this site that I meet my best friend to this day. <3. *huggles* Rachieee I love you. XD *pokesher* That's my lovely darling older sister...whooo is kinda more amazing than any other person...ever. Love ya, Rachie!

Welcome back! Ok...so...as I was saying....

To me, HE isn't just a site. *shakes head* No...because a 'site' to me is some place like yahoo or msn. To me...this is like a second home. I know....I know...that's weird. But..it's so true! I really love the leasons this site has taught me. That's right...HE has taught me real life lessons.

One lesson I have personally learned on this site it is to not judge people right away. That, it really takes a while to really get to know a person. That...just because a person acts one way one day...does not mean they will another day.

Another lesson HE taught was was to respect people more. Before going on HE, I was kind of a disresectful person. I never really cared about what I did to others. This has changed a lot now. Because of all the positiveness on this site, it made me realize that I need to respect people...even if I find them to be really annoying.

The next lesson I leanred was to just take life as it comes. We've had good...and bad times on this site. Like...Elfie having Amiee! YAY!! Also, having Faith pass away (May she RIP.) This site taught me how to take the good with the bad...and to just try my hardest to handle it the best I personally can.

Guess what? I've aged on this site! I really did!!!! I was here for my 15th birthday, and my 16th! I got to spend my birthday with my computer family...aka you guys! It was so nice getting tons of Pms telling me 'Happy Birthday!'...and just having you all remember.

In my family...turning 'Sweet Sixteen' is a really big deal...so I was so thankful to get to not only spend it with my hometown friends...but all you guys too!!

You know...I was on HE when I found out my mom was pregnant with my new baby sister, Alexia. I was so excited. I think I told it to everyone that was on MSN and AIM at the time. I was just so full of joy...and I will always remember HE when I think of my sister's birthday. (January 8th, 2007!)

I love this is site so much. I have such confidence that this site will be a strong site in ten years...in fifteen years. I really hope that one day Amiee, Alex and Alexia can join HE...and spend time with people like you guys.

What does HE mean to me? Well this site means a lot to me. I have met so many great friends on this site. Also it has helped me to get through some tough times. When something bad happens I usally get on the site and I find something to do to keep me preoccupied so that I wont keep reliveing that awful day. Not only that but it has also helped me with school. I have done a lot of assignments on this site and because of that it has helped me to write better essays for school. It has also helped me with my reasearching skills and for that I am thankful for the site. Along with this the site also has helped me with my shyness. I usally dont like to try to get to know new people because it was hard for me to do that but here I find it so easy. Everyone here is so kind and nice that its so easy to make friends. That is just some of what HE has done for me

I'm going to keep this short and sweet as I could write forever. Anyway, HE means to me a place to come to relax, hang with friends and to help support my house. Not only is it just a forum to me but I've created lasting friendships. And I know that some have just become family to me. I would do anything for them.

I thank Sharron and Amie for helping put everything together. It wasn't for them then none of us would be here. So Thanks guys, Luv Ya!!! Oh and thanks to the purple hippo...lol

I love HE because I think it helped me become more outgoing, and not embarassed about who (or maybe even WHAT xD) I was. Now don't give me those looks because I know I've had a tendency to be loud, crazy, and random. But seriously, up until like...7th/8th grade, I was this shy quiet thing who didnt want to say something and be thought of as stupid. I remember my best friend (at the time) asking me if I liked Harry Potter, and I asked if she did, and when she said it was all right I said it was just all right too. (This was also the time I realized I had a burning love of Daniel Radcliffe...but that comes later :D) At school, I would say things and then turn red immediately afterward, because I'd think someone would think it stupid. Okay, so I still sometimes do that...but not as often xD I'm proud of my eccentricities, GOSH DARN YOU ALL :D

And of course, it was on HE that I've made many friends. And even family, haha. I still keep in touch with my mum, Swifty, and some of my siblings. And the friends I've made here are the people I want to run to when I need a huggle XD I love how Caree and I can have an entire conversation about "diudiu" and Rai can IM me singing "Cell Block Tango" and I can just go with it. Or I can start yelling about riddles/potions/apparition and I know someone gets what I'm saying. haha. I'm such a head case. Anyways...oh wait...yeah, and I also got close to Emma here. No big deal.

Kidding :D I'm really glad that the way things happened allowed us to become better friends. Because she's amazingly...my sister. xD That's really the only way I can describe it. And sure, we bother each other, and tease each other, and threaten to like...dye each other's hair purple. But we love each other and without HE, I wouldn't have that with another person.

In conclusion, HE and me...are bffles for life xD (after you, Emma, of course )

Oh man, 2 years? Well more 1,5 to me as I managed to join on the end of the first term.

Some would say this site has become and obssession to me, well I'd call it more of a healthy educational place. I've learned more here in this past year and a half then the time I was in college. I was able to improve my english to a high level despite all of my little typos and grammar flaws XD. Handle graphics programs, doing research, modding, culture knowledge thanks to all the members from different places...

Also it showed me when I really like something I can stand by it. I never stayed in a site this long, nor kept doing something with the same intensity for so long. This site represents so much I'd like to be true and also so much it is true and I usually dont see in my daily life.

It's also hard to believe how much I grew in this site, both as member but as a person too. And even though I get along with most members there are a few that held a special place in my thoughts and some I can really consider friends and I knew I will meet someday.

Elfie, your madness and kindness is a true inspiration to every human being. Never lose that inner child. Also I dont know how your imagination doest fails you!

Amy, your 'groundness', patience and amability will take you to great places. Your help to me will never be forgotten and you owe me a Shayne Ward siggy.

Marie, even though you're not around the site as much anymore, I hold you dear to me as to the one who got to know me the best without me even saying things.

Swifty, your runningness is always present too.
