Running Swift is stepping down as professor for the Muggle studies Class, which leaves an opening for the position.

If you would like to apply for the position, please do so below.

* You must be prepared to create and grade classes regularly
* You must have a fair head, i.e: you must be able to grade fairly no matter what house you belong to.

Okay, so I am applying for this position too. I think that I can bring a lot to this class and make it interesting and excieting. This class has always been enjoyable to me because it is usually simple, yet entertaining at the same time. I do think I would make a good professor because I am ALWAYS on HE and will make sure that there are always fun options and new classes that everyone will want to try. Even though I love Gryffindor, I can definetly be a fair grader making sure that I take everything into consideration. I think I have proved my trustworthyness but being a prefect 3 times so far and coming to the site almost every day.

Assignment Example:Muggles Doing Magic?

For this assignment you will have to explain to me the science of what muggles beleive is magic. We all know that it is merely trickery and is extremely simple compared what we do, but do you have the skills it takes to be a muggle magician?

Part One: The Basics
What is the muggle term magician mean? (2 pts.)
Name 1 famous muggle magician and give breif biography. No less than 150 words. (10 pts.)
Give 3 examples of where muggles use magic. (6 pts.)
Name 1 famous magic trick muggles always use. (2 pts)

Part Two: Magic Words
Muggles use magic words to make their work seem more real, and to give it some entertainment value unlike the importance of the spells real wizards and witches utter. Little children grow up hearing these words and beleiving them to be real. But where do they come from? Please write a 150 word essay on each "Magic" phrase. (30 pts.)

I have decided to apply for another professor job as my recent re-employment as second head of slytherin has brought a new long for teaching back as well as a long to be a bigger part of the site once again.

I have job experience in this area as was the first potions professor for well over a year as well as original head of house (though am very happy that Raist is head of house as he is much better than me!) - That probably is not helping my case here lol

Discussion Class: Hot Air Balloon


Welcome to the hot air balloon.

Above you will see a list of professions in the muggle world. Your first job is to select a profession from the list (or another if you choose - please specify) and post it within the first post. There can be only ONE person per profession.

Once sign ups have occured, a new post will open;

You are all within a large hot air balloon (a muggle flying machine) over the vast sea. There is no land around for many miles and the balloon is sinking fast. You all realise that either you all sink into the depths of the water, or one person wil have to be pushed over the edge to save the rest.

It is your job to debate with the others why you think that you should stay in the balloon and not be pushed out. Use your profession as an argument and knowledge of other professions to try to state your case.

This debate will be marked out of 100 per person depending upon how well you state your case.

If any sources are used, please remember to state them here and no copying/pasting.

This class covers a range of knowledge of muggle professions and teaches the art of muggle debate.


Other class ideas:

* Muggle Inventions (as this is a running muggle class)
* Muggle of the month, expanding into different types of muggles such as artists, cientists etc.
* Fairy tale - muggle storytelling or real magical events

As a side note:

I'm really sorry that I had to give this position up. As you all know, I don't have internet, and that's making things hard. I also don't have time, or the creativity, to keep coming up with new classes, so I hope that whoever gets this job wiill be wonderful at it, really dedicated, and make Muggle Studies come alive for HE... goodness knows it's been a bit too dead for my liking.
