Improv Everywhere

Has anyone heard of Improv Everywhere before? They try and set up "missions" involving members of the public.

I've watched a couple of the videos - one involved 200 people coming to a complete stop in Grand Central Station; another was a pillow fight in the middle of the Bull Ring in Birmingham.

They're just silly practical jokes, really, but quite funny when you think about it.

The reason I've come across this is because there's a "Flash Mob" planned for the Bull Ring in Birmingham in a couple of weeks which my sisters are planning to attend - they're going to do one like the "Frozen Grand Central" - where everyone participating just stops and freezes for five minutes.

Anyone heard of this before? Participated in a flash mob? Seen one happening?

My sisters are still planning to do the FlashMob in Birmingham this Saturday, so when they've done it and I've spoken to them I'll let you know how it went!

They did, yeah. I haven't had a chance to watch the videos from it yet cos of my connection, but Becky said it was fun.

I love them so much. The Food Court Musical was a really good one and Redheads Protest Wendy's was hilarious. Pretty much anything they does make me laugh though. xD

Oh yeah they had a thing about this on Can We Help? where they asked viewers to participate. Awesome sauce :D

Yesss. And they did a Black Tie Beach Day just a few days ago. I wish I could've done it.

Haha love it!! Hopefully uni will do something soonish... uni students like to do cool things like this, I think. :D

I'm disappointed I've never seen any of their stuff though in person...cause I go into NYC a lot which is where most of them take place and nothing ever happens for me. -snifflesniffle-

I love other branches of improv too. They do this thing at my uni called Theatre sports every week (it's a pretty popular thing, it's done everywhere) and it's sooo awesome.

It's like an improv thing where there are four teams, three rounds, and they each have a minute to do an improv sketch with a theme.

For instance, a team did this thing yesterday where at any one time a team member had to have their head in a bucket, and the scene was set on a ferry. IT WAS HILARIOUS

Ohmygosh! That sounds like a lot of fun!!!!

Oh it was!!

But I missed it yesterday 'cause I didn't go to uni...
