I have an older sister who I listened to a lot of her music as a kid so most ppl 23 and under that I've talked to don't know these two groups that I love: Smashing Pumpkins and They Might Be Giants

Some other artists that most ppl seem not to heard of are: Kate Voegele, Thrice, The Calling, Anberlin, and Stereophonics

What artists do you know of that most ppl haven't heard of?

(I've heard of those all, and I've listened to them, and lovin' them :D)

Well, there's... bands like Semisonic, and...... The Pappa Betalars :D But that's a Finnish band, and they sing in Swedish/Finnish, but some of my friends have never heard of them.

Which I find shocking xD

Then there's Dir en Grey, The GazettE, X Japan, New Order, Windsor for the Derby, The Radio Dept., and Adam and the Ants..

heeeey, I know Dir en Grey! XD .. although I haven't listened to a lot of their songs XD I also think I've once heard Smashing Pumpkins and .. that's it. XD I'm usually the person who isn't even up-to-date with popular bands' songs.. *cough*

... and I bet I don't know any brilliant unknown artists XD

Caro, that's awesome, especially that you know Smashing Pumpkins and They Might Be Giants, they diffrent and I like that.

I've only heard of a few of the ones you listed. Has any one heard of O-Zone, they are Romainian, and really awesome. Another you may not have heard of is Mae, they were touring with The Fray and Ok Go, for a while last year.

O-Zone...the dragostao din tei guys...is that right? Mai-hi hi and all that?

I know Semisonic - I remember their song "Secret Smile" was a big radio hit when I was starting secondary school, and FNT is on the 10 Things soundtrack :D

I like Within Temptation, but not a lot of people in the UK know them.

i think Bowling For Soup is really good. And Red Hot CHili Peppers. Hmm, that's about the only one's my friends havent really heard of..

guess what?? bowling for soup played at our county fair 3 days ago. i wasn't there but i was this close *holds up fingers* to going, gah, why didn't i??? i didn't know the band was there till yesterday..

Some others I love that most people I know don't are Vertical Horizon, Ben Lee/Folds/Kweller, Train, Saving Jane, 311, Counting Crows, Dalia, The Hush Sound...and I'll just stop there, hehe.

Well I've defo heard of Stereophonics, they're my favourite band. I've been majorly obsessed with them for the past 9 years, regularly travel to see them. Just bought an Oxegen ticket which cost nearly £200 simply because they're playing a set at it. Waited for 3 hours in the rain and cold just to meet Kelly (who I refer to as The Husband) last year. But yea, Phonics are pretty popular. I've converted a lot of folks into liking them. Could talk about them forever.

Anyhoo, I adore a band called The Silent who are simply AWESOME and not many people have heard of them. Death Cab for Cutie seem to be a band people here in Ireland ain't really heard of either. Or erm, Lifehouse.

Eimi, yes, FNT is from 10 Things I Hate About You, and I actually squeed when I heard it, since I've heard some of Semisonic's songs so... yeah xD Besides, the movie was awesome :D

And Within Temptation has been pretty popular in Finland for ages :D UK is weird when it comes to music... xD

I've heard of O-Zone...I like Dragostea Din Tei (Sorry if it's spelled wrong, iPod isn't near me lol).

And my sister is really into a band called Cobra Starship that is up and coming. She now has the rest of the family liking their music. Haha. But they are really great and have really cool live shows (I've seen them 3 times already thanks to my sister, Ashley).

I know almost all those artist/bands. I love, love, love O.A.R. Then there's my oldies: Foreigner, Styx, Grand Funk/Grand Funk Railroad, Jefferson Airplane/Starship/Starshsip (how's that for confusing?), Herman's Hermits, The Monkees, The Eagles. Those are some of my favourites.
