What do you get out of HE?

Are you here for commraderie or do you like RPing? Is it quidditch or the classes? There are so many things HE has to offer to all of us, so I'm just curious which of those things you take.

Personally, my number one thing with this site is that it challenges my intelligence in ways I haven't experienced since I graduated from High School nearly 6 years ago. I love that! It's also the satisfaction of a job well done when I complete a class or exam.

Aside from that, I'm here for friendships. I am not an outgoing person in real life, by any means. Any confidence I exhibit is feigned. Here it's easy. If someone rolls their eyes at me, I can't see it. The worst part about my being shy is that I love being around people. I wouldn't mind my shyness so much if I were anti-social. Sadly, I long for friendship, but don't often get it. Here, that's not the case.

So, how about everyone else?

Hmm. For me it's a lot of different things. When I first joined I wanted to be part of Sharon's website, talk with friends and do the classes and challenges.

As time went on and I moved from regular member to staff member and then to co-admin, what I get out from it is slightly different. I still love coming here and talking with everyone - the community aspect of HE is fantastic, and it does feel like we're all one big family.

Apart from that, I like the creative aspect that comes with helping admin a forum. I get to design skins and banners, I've learned basic coding skills for things like the Pensieve, and more complex coding skills for the Quill and LotGD. It's fun coming up with challenge and class ideas, and working together with Sharon to put on the Events and activities.

I enjoy the RPing mainly, and also getting the chance to meet people that I don't see face to face every day.

The Classes are very fun. But here EVERYTHING is fun.

I love doing classes because it makes me feel like I'm really at Hogwarts and they always give me something to do on the site when my RP friends aren't online.

I love RP because it is so much fun and it bumps up your posts, as does playing games in games galore.

I love this site...it's my favourite website to date.

Well - for me, HE used to be all about classes and events in the beginning (yes, I was a newbie, too, at some point xD) ... and then I slowly got to know more people better, so the social aspect got more important. And now it's almost only the people who still attract me to HE, as I'm not such a HP-addict anymore and I've somehow gotten too *cough* lazy to do all the classes etc, plus I don't have time for them.

But seriously - I'd have never thought you can start such a friendship with people online before. Well now I know better, because I've met some really amazing people here, some of whom I know I'll meet in reality and some of whom I dearly hope I will, too, because I'm utterly fond of them. :D

Well, Cris has described my take on HE, pretty much...I'm really lazy nowadays...

First I loved doing classes and it was really the writing aspect, combined with HP that at first drew me here. Then my HP obsession slowly wore off, but there were still various other entertaining events going on, and I loved chatting with gazillions of people...

Then I was head of Hufflepuff for awhile and that was loads of fun. I love telling people to work! Then I was obsessed with us winning the cup, and all us Huffies worked hard and we did. xD

Now, I've made several very close friends (Yeah, I never believed that online friends could be close, but I've proved myself wrong xD), I've gotten tons of graphics experience (though, to be frank, I still lack the talent, but at least I know my way around now) and I still come here if I'm bored throughout the day - and I hang out in HE community. I also still participate in some events, and check out the writing challenges. HE always kept me writing even through my writer's block, whether it was 100 word drabbles or crazy long diary rants, and I'm really grateful for that.

Also, it motivated me, in part, to start working on my own site.

And, I can't stop saying this enough, but everyone here is so NICE. It's like an alternate reality, with how nice Elfie and Amy and everyone is.

Except for Rai. xD

Ohhhhh, my favourite thing here are the people, like Silvy says. :D

I don't do most classes, I rarely participate in events... *bad skully*

What I do love is being able to talk to other people, from other countries, somewhere far far away, that share my interests :D I love the HE's people, they've helped so much, they always make me smile and I owe them so much I'll NEVER be able to pay them back ^.^
