The Ancient and Most Noble Art of Crystal Ball Gazing

When one thinks of gazing into a crystal ball, the eye’s mind conjures images of gypsies, warlocks, and witches. But, it is really about so much more than that.

In the beginning, seers would analyze what they saw in water, polished metals, and precious stones. These were their connections to the “spirit world” and they interpreted it in their own ways. They eventually evolved their methods into other techniques of divining. One of which was the gazing into clear, spherical crystals….

The reading of crystal balls was popular during Victorian times, along with palmistry and astrology. Many complex rituals would be done for the cleaning of the crystals, and the sessions during which a reading would be done. They would most often be done when the “Sun is at its northernmost declination” (crystallinks). Just before a vision from the ball would appear, the crystal would “mist”. These visions ranged from a clear picture or to a simple, thin, cloud.

Crystal balls are only “readable” and “usable” by those who are clairvoyant. Clairvoyant people are those who have the “inner eye” or ability to see into the future. These instruments of divination do not come in only the softball sized clear variety. Their sizes, shapes, and even colors vary depending upon the user. Psychics tend to be “drawn” by a “frequency” to the crystal ball that is best suited to them. The larger ones tend to have more energy and a larger “screen” through which images can be seen. The colored varieties can even change colors do to a crystal placed in the center that will project a rainbow when the crystal catches the light. However, the probable best type of crystal ball to use is made of clear quartz with few imperfections.

As with a wand, a crystal calls to the psychic, and chooses the psychic. The psychics are seldom in control enough to choose it. The “frequency” of the crystal ball is meant to enhance the clairvoyant’s psychic abilities; the psychic’s crystal ball should match the psychic perfectly. The diviner’s “power” should be raised to a higher level so that the psychic is able to access more information about the past, present, and future. All crystal balls have one thing in common-they help to boost the psychic’s energy, and are good for communication no matter what size or shape.

When the psychic at last come into contact with a crystal ball that matches the psychic, at first the psychic should work with it or hold it for a little bit. Before attempting any heavy duty work, the psychic should feel comfortable with it and the frequency at which the psychic will be operating. Then, the psychic should clean it-nobody needs to work with a dirty instrument, now do they?-and “charge” it. The charging can be accomplished by placing it in the sunlight and the moonlight for at least one day.

Once this is done, the famous crystal ball reading can be executed. In order to do this, the crystal ball is first placed on a stand on a dark surfaced wooden table. The psychic’s hands are placed upon the ball and either keep it in one place, or turn it slightly. If there is a person whom they are reading the crystal ball for, they will also touch the ball.

The crystal ball will open the clairvoyant’s third eye, and physical-seeming and non-physical seeming images will appear inside the crystal’s clear center. A lot of focusing is involved, because the psychic must focus past what their “visual eyes” see, and on what their “inner eye” sees. They may appear as though under the influence of hypnosis-so intense is the state in which they put themselves. In fact, sometimes, the eyes may cross. If this happens, relaxation must occur, and then the psychic will attempt to get a clear reading again. During the reading, the psychic will inform the person he/she is reading for what he/she can see. All of this information should be written down as soon as possible.

The images that the clairvoyant sees can be stationary, or moving, as if on a television or a movie screen. In fact, two people hardly ever see the same things inside a crystal ball. It all depends upon the frequency upon which they are adjusted to the ball, and whatever their inner eye is able to hook them up onto.

Colors and symbols must be interpreted based on the person being divined for. Shapes can almost always be connected to the person and the larger and sooner it appears-the more important it is.
Crystals-such as those that make up crystal balls-are not used just for readings such as those described above. Another type of divination that can be done with crystals is called “scrying”. When a diviner peers into a rock crystal, they may be able to see events of the distant events to come. It was very popular around the 5th century until it was condemned by the Catholic Church.

Today, seers practice this art freely, and though many believe this to be a “fraudulent” profession, there are those (such as Professor Etta) who seem to posess the true art and skill necessary to peer into the misty depths of a ball and see-not a reflection-but a future.
