Book Extract Game

This is a bit like the film quotes game, simply post a short extract from a book and the next person has to guess what it is. Try not to make them too obscure, or the game will never continue!

I'll go first:

Okay now ive actally read this book its one of Libba Brays now i dont think its the first one A Great but terrible beaty becuase if i rember rightly fees mum isent mentioned in that and nor is Polly so im going to go for
