I used to like the idea of Bella/Jacob.

But having recently re-read all the books, I can see that there is no other way to go than Edward/Bella.

That's not to say that I hate Jacob - like most Edward/Bella shippers seem to - I still love the character, but I don't want Bella and Jake to be together.

UGH I hate how everyone thinks edwards all perfect and amazing cause hes not.
Dont you realize, that he left bella.. maybe the intention was good..
but you all say you can relate to Edward better you can see how he feels

Anyone can feel like jacob anyone can be in the kind of love that jacob and bella have.. because its actually real... its actually something that could happen to you in the real world.

And in the end.. people are so dim.. that they would rather belive and hope for whats fake.. than enjoy whats real.

Dude, I don't relate to Edward, which is why I love him xD He's just so perfect, and seriously, who doesn't want perfection in their life? :D

When I read Twilight, Jake was more of a "...whatever - moving on!" character, and in New Moon he became... annoying :D

Seriously, that boy should know when to stop, and let people be happy.

Edwards not perfect by any means, I agree - but who is? Bella isnt for sure but it is the best choice of relationship . Edward really loves Bella and she returns that love. Jacobs love is shadowed - it isnt true love - I mean, did he even imprint on her?

I've been thinking a lot about this lately XD I'd thought that I'd figured it all out before but now I really know why people hate Jacob so much now and the idea of Jacob with Bella, it's because everyone fell in love with Edward with Bella. Because it was from her point of view everyone just fell in love with Edward and his perfection.

But no matter how many times I re-read the books... I never fall in love with Edward. Ever. He's too unrealistic for me. Too perfect and too unbelievable.

But therefore everyone hates Jacob because he's this threat, and they can't imagine Bella with anyone else, because they themselves have fallen in love with Edward so they don't want her love to ever shift from him. Because they want to continue to be in love with Edward themselves

If the books were written in third person it'd be a completely different story. There would be a lot more people pulling for Jacob than there are now.

Ok.. honestly.. people are so involved in there own mind. that they will sit here and try to tell me what Im about to say is false.. when you can even call up stephenie Meyer yourself and find out that what i am about to say.. is one hundred percent true:

At the end of eclipse, bella was not completley happy with the decision she made.. there was no way for her to go.. in which she would not get hurt.. She was in love with Jacob.. and it was REAL love *glares* but.. it isnt really the fact of whos love was stronger, because they were different kinds of love, And some people refuse to accept that Bella and Jacobs love was just as strong.. yet different..
AND WHAT MOST PEOPLE TRY TO DENY
is that they all say that Bella was happy in the end of eclipse.. when she wasnt.
You need reread if you think that she was.. if you still end up with the same conclusion.. go back to preschool.

You're taking this waaaaay too serious... but sure, I might be stupid for not simply "seeing the magic" in Jacob. Sure, he's funny with his non-stopping teasing with Eddie, but still, not my type of fiction guy :D

And when I said "let people be happy", I didn't mean EVERYONE was happy in the books. I meant it as a side-comment. If I would say "Eddie looks good dipped in chocolate pudding", would people think he got dipped in chocolate pudding in the books?

hmmm, I'm gonna agree with Elfie there

His character is amazing though! His character is one of the few characters that are actually realistic. He's a great character really, Stephenie Meyer's favorite character XD. He adds so much to the books that wouldn't be there without him.

If Bella had never met Edward, I think she would have been perfectly content to be with Jacob. I really love Jacob's character, and what I especially like is that they are basically in the same stage of life. Edward, being over 100 years old, a mind-reader, and talented in every way imaginable, will always be superior to Bella. He often emanates that smugness that older people are so fond of projecting. (Like, 'I know so much more than you. You are still so young. You have so much to learn. Bow down to my greatness.' etc.)

I couldn't possibly marry someone that smug. And that perfect. It would drive me insane. Bella, however, doesn't seem to mind being constantly preached to and lorded over by someone waaaay superior to her in every way, so whatever, that's her problem.

Basically, I would never have willingly stayed in love with Edward once I knew he was a vampire and how smug and superior he is. I really dislike his character. But Bella is in love with him. And that's what matters.

So I don't think of 'Bella and Jacob'. I think of Bella. Stupid, lovesick Bella. And of Edward. Superior, smug, perfect Edward. And of Jacob. Poor, sweet Jacob. I love that dude.

I love how going back and forth between the Jacob/Bella and the Edward/Bella shows that Jella shippers have a way different mind set than Edward/Bella shippers..(please dont call it Edbella... are you kidding me what kind of a fandom name is that? Ella.. or Bedward... NOT EDBELLA!)

This thread is filled with the argument.. the Jella shippers defending Jella till the end against the Ella shippers (who 3 out of 5 times hate edward) Where as The Edward/bella thread has a whole bunch of people reprocessing the same short phrase about how the ship is perfect... and thats it.

You can see something as perfect.. and accept it and live by it.

If you take a step back.. and you reread the books again... no doubt youll seep with love in twilight.. but you know.. in the back of your mind.. what bella goes through in new moon.. and youll read that again too and when you get to the part where he leaves her.. and shes in those woods.. broken beyond beliefe theres no doubt in my mind. that if you cried the first time youll cry again.. but when you finally get him bac

If you take a look back and you really look at the situation.. if you stop being so partial to Edward (and dont say that me and amby are ever partial to Jacob because I for one love Edward and only ever look at this situation from the point of view of the all knowing bystander that can read bellas thoughts..) Stop seeing things through the eyes that bella had in twilight.. and look at it through the eyes she has throughout new moon and eclipse... youll see.. that Jacob is the love that completes her. Edwards love with bella is more than complete... Jacobs like that glass slipper from Cinderella.. hes the perfect fitt...

I love Jacob, but I don't think he should end up with Bella. Yeah Edward is an idiot half the time (don't deny it...he is a guy...lol), but Bella loves Edward and she loves him. Personally I hope Jacob imprints on someone so he can move on. I felt so bad for him at the end of Eclipse

In fact I like him alot. However, I think that Edward and Bella are a better match, and I really, really hope that Jacob can find someone in La Push who he will fall in love with.

I found myself feeling guilty too... but I just can't disagree with the match, Bella and Edward is just too perfect, but then again, I imagine that's exactly how it's supposed to be. She's just messin' with our heads...

I do agree that Jacob did some bad things, he is imature, selfish, arrogant and stubborn. But that's what makes him Jacob! He did plenty of things he shouldn't have done (motorcycle thing, first kiss thing, etc), but it was only for Bella, thinking of Bella that he did it.

He is inlove with her as badly as she is inlove with Edward, so, who on Earth can blame him for at least, trying?!

And, who has read Eclipse, by now, knows that a small (small but strong) part of Bella loves Jacob too. Not just the friend-way. The lover-way. And that small part of Bella wishes she could be with Jacob, she could marry Jacob, have his kids, etc...

But the rest of Bella cannot even THINK of that possibily because living without Edward is too unbearable.

It's like Jacob said: In a right world, without the vampires and magic and such, Jacob and Bella would've been perfect for each other.

But... since Edward came along, Bella cannot ignore that her feelings for Ed are MUCH bigger and stronger than her feelings for Jake.

I did cry on Eclipse's last chapter. I cried a lot. I'm on Team Edward, yet I cried for Jake. I really wish both of them could have Bella. Sad, huh? :/

Gr. I love Jacob, and I love Edward, and I love Bella! It kills me that they're all being torn apart by this... I think that if Bella and Jake had met and there was never an Edward then Bella would have been so happy with Jake and never had another thought about anyone else. But the problem is, what she and Edward have is so beyond human. It's beyond werewolf, beyond vampire, it's beyond common sense and reason, and I think that fighting that, Jacob has no chance.

Oh, and the moment that Bella said, "And if Angela turns out to be a witch she can join th party too" or something like that, I came up with the theory that Jacob would imprint on Angela, which would totally rock XD.

But back on topic, I really love Jacob, but as the circumstances go, he'll never have Bella because she's Edward's and she'll always be Edward's, and I hope nothing will change that.

Ok, anyways, that would totally rock if Angela turned out to be a witch!!!! I would be so happy for Jacob. For me the thing with Jacob is his complete immaturity. For anyone who knows me, yes I am completely immature, but I hate the way Jake is completely insensitive to Bella and only goes after what he wants, without even thinking about how it might affect anyone else. Yeah, I think Bella and Edward work well together, but I don't think its perfect by a long stretch. Bella and Edward seems almost too perfect, so I think there will be a major problem in the near future. But really before Jacob even stands a chance against Edward I think he has to start thinking of others first.

and Nick my best friend was the chairman for Mike Newton

ok so we had the three of us debate and then everyone had to vote.. now naturally there were more Edward/Bella fans there but when it came down to it... we were supposed to be voting for who gave the better argument.
And Jocelyn.. is a horrible debater. I mean.. even she didnt vote for edward.

in the end I voted for mike newton.. because Nick,.. is just to hilarious and too right to disagree with.

but in the end Edward still won in the votes.

Actually, Jess, I see this entirely differently :D Well, since we read the books (...well, the three first ones, atleast) from Bella's point of view, who's saying that Edward is perfect? I mean, if I remember correctly, everyone else shies away from the Cullens because they're different, but Bella thinks they're just beautiful. This also works for how people picture Bella; she's described to be an ordinary looking girl, but then again, who WOULD consider themselves perfect from their own point of view? We only read how Bella sees things, so who says Edward is perfect? We just get the picture Bella has of him, and he's perfect - perfect for her.
