| Now I know this sounds weird so let me elaborate: Some people like Bella with Edward, and some like bella with Jacob.. but in the end you have to ask yourself the question... does she really deserve either one of them? Edward is so close to perfection.. and caters to her needs. and Jacob is so sweet and has the qualitys of a great companion. but Bella.. bellas selfish.. and iggnorant.. and immature... and just plain human. What makes her so special? So thats why theres Team Mike now.. because I think bella deserves a little plain. | |

| I definitely see your point with Bella/ Mike or any other random normal human (like Tyler), but I also can see how it wouldn't work. If there were no werewolves, no vampires, no particularly beautiful people, just average boring teenagers, Bella would be left with the other option... normal people. But, Bella herself isn't really quite normal her brain is working 'on a differant frequency' so she sees the world differently from other people.
Could that really work with an average human? Or would Bella be left alone for the rest of her life because she couldn't find anyone who could really read her? I think that Bella's different than your average human, and some of those characteristics make her... for lack of a better word special.
Oh, and then there's the bad luck portion of the problem. With Bella's luck, she'll be dead within days with neither Edward or Jacob at least looking out for her. Pitiful, but true.
Bella is selfish, she even admits it to herself and fact that makes her different from other humans. When people have a problem, they usually refuse to look at it, they ignore it. But Bella's anything but ignorant, she realizes that there is a problem and she solves it in the only way she can, leaving the things that mean a lot to her. After all, she left Jacob, and she may be leaving Charlie, Rene, and anything else she holds dear. Bella's ability to sacrifice, even though the reason she's sacrificing is mostly selfish, is one of the things that make her memorable.
Therefore, I don't think that Bella isn't just plain human, and although she's not on a level with mythical creatures who have made girls around the world swoon, she's not your average high school graduate either. She accepted the existence of what she had previously believed were myths and legends without a hitch, found herself sucked into their world of blood feuds and hatred, and did just fine, though not without help. Bella is different because she's so much the same, she realizes how non exceptional she is and is perplexed why beings such as Jacob and Edward do like her. Maybe Bella does deserve a little extra in who she wants to spend the rest of eternity with, no matter how long eternity lasts.
Wow, I write a freakin'lot XD

| Yeah, it would be a lot easier for EVERYONE if Bella would be head of heels in love with Mike, or any other HUMAN, but... we wouldn't have Twilight, then xD Just... a normal... book, I suppose. It would be like the Princess Diaries, dude! :D
And think about it; Bella has become more mature when she's been running with vampires and werewolves, so she would probably get bored and whatnot with normal humans :D I mean, normal humans talk about normal stuff, nothing awfully interesting... xD
And I never really cared much for Mike-Schmike xD

| NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!
I really hate Mike! More than words can describe! I hate him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hate isn't a strong enough word for it, loath!!!! Despise!!!!!!!! (Anyone know any stronger words. because that's not enough) NO, in the books he's so, desperate for Bella, even when he has 'came to accept the fact that Bella is with Edward' he is still really clingy and, desperate! He is making men look desperate for some lovin'! I really do hate him, from the word go! I just Hate him!

| I don't like Mike, and I don't think Bella/Mike would have worked even without all the supernatural.
If there were no vampires, there would be no werewolves (as the wolves only started phasing again because the Cullen's moved back to Forks). Therefore, had Bella moved to Forks and there were no Cullens in the area, Jacob would have been a normal guy and I think their relationship would have worked and progressed normally.
Anyway, that's for another thread.
Mike = ick.
'Nuff said. | |

| I have to get this out there; my MOM is on Team Mike.
Don't ask me why. She's weird. She thinks EDWARD would be a nice big brother for Bella, which made me gasp out loud.
Honestly, mom! >_____<
