New Feature : Warning Levels

Warning Levels

Some of you may have noticed a new part on the side of your profiles as below:



This is a new warning system which we have installed. Each one is automatically set at 0/3 meaning that you have recieved no warnings. This starts from today.

You are allowed up to 3 warnings before you will be banned from the site. Warnings can only be issued by myself or Amy and will only be issued for things we deem as serious. Wrong signature sizes, for example, does not warrent a warning.

Warnings stay on your profile for about a month before they are cleared back to zero again.

So, I'm guessing the warnings are for things like bullying behaviour? Or is that extreme enough to merit an automatic ban?

Like death threat? Because in that case, I'll be banned at the end of this month xD

Obviously every situation is different. We'll be able to judge on what sort of warning a person would get if and when they do something wrong.

Again, it would depend on the seriousness of what had happened. It may just be a temporary suspension or a proper ban.

Yes.

Each warning will be kept for a month - two warnings will take two months to get back down to nothing again. If a person has three warnings - three months until down to 0 - After a third warning then member will be banned.

It still stands that if someone does something really wrong then automatic bannment will be applied as in the past.

Would not turning up to something like a quidditch match or a tournament when you promised you would and not warned anyone, would that count as a warning?

Not necessarily. If it's a report for a one/two word spam post, swearing etc. and it's a single occurence, then no. But if it's been reported that a member is doing something like that repeatedly, or posting inappropriate stuff etc. then that would constitute a warning. Again, it's sort of an "if and when it happens we'll know" situation.

Nope! These warning levels are for infractions against the site's general rules - things like repeated breaking of the rules, a serious infraction or something that affects the safety of other members.
