Natalie's birthday Party!

First topic message reminder :

Natalie sat in the room of requirements, waitng for her friends to arrive for her birthday party. Rumor had it that the elves were making a cake and all kinds of other treats to send up. Natalie had beautifully decorated the room with banners and such, and live fairy's were presently flying around.

She waited patiently.

"Violet R-Violet Riddle killed er....,"
Riley closed his eyes and sank into the sat beside her.

"That g-girl always goes one step too far....and I don't think I'll be able to forgive her.....not again...not after this," said Natalie, crying. She picked up her dolls and hugged them.

"Stup Up....oh come on....please," said Chucky, but Natalie was in hysterics.

Holly looked at them without seeing. Phoenix. Fun loving Phoenix.
Riley beside her swallowed and looked a little nervously towards her, afraid she would burst into tears.

NAtalie looked at Holly.

"Holly....y-you don't always have to be such I Gryffindor all the time...it's ok to cry," said Natalie.

Holly sat totally still, staring at the ground. She didnt even move when Riley put his forhead on her shoulder.

Natalie went over to Holly, and pulled her into a hug began to cry on her shoulder. She saw Riley was looking sad, and mouthed, 'You can hug her when she lets it out.'

Holly sat motionless, but hugged Natalie back, still in disbelief.

"It's just so sad....you don't appreciate someone...until they're gone...and to think...we nearly died with her once...and we've all been through so much...I know it's so cruel Holly...it wasn't her time," NAtalie cried.

"Its never anybodys time," Holly murmured, "People shouldnt die.......they shouldnt...."

"I know...I'm so stupid for telling you this now Holly....but....you look just like your mother when you are upset...I see it in your eye," said NAtalie, "this must hurt much like it did before for you."

Holly glanced at Natalie and nodded.
"Dad always said that....,"
She shook her head and tried to empty it of thoughts of Phoenix.

"Here," said Natalie, showing Holly a shell she had found by the Black Lake while hanging out with Holly and Phoenix, "do you still have yours?"

Holly furrowed her brow.
"I dont know," she said honestly, "You know how careless I am.....its probably in my trunk...,"

Natalie looked at Holly and smiled through her tears.

"Same old Holly," she said.

Holly returned a faint smile and then glanced over at Riley who had been silent for a while.
"You alright?" she asked.
"I barely got to know her," Riley said at last.
Holly choked a little, and hugged him.

Natalie sobbed.

"Poor Phoenix," she muttered.

Holly sighed lightly and took a hand of Natalie's and then of Riley's.

So they stood together, all three of them, in an almost reverant silence, for Phoenix. This was one of the saddest moments in the history of man-kind

After a moment Riley said, "Are you cold?"
Holly nodded.
"But its alright," she added, "Its a good cold,"

Natalie looked at Holly.

"We'll find a way to get over this...she would've wanted it." said Natalie sadly.

Hayley nodded, silent tears slipping down her face, as she stood, with Jake's hand clasped in hers. Blueberry was sitting on her shoulder, snuffling.

"Funny thing is we'll never know what Phoenix would have wanted.......I thought we knew her but.....evidently not.......,"

"We knew her enough," Hayley said.

Holly stayed silent and looked at the floor, silently disagreeing.

Natalie looked around the room.

"This is just so sudden...so sad...so...unreal," said Tiffany, tears sliding down her plastic face.

Chucky, who was used to death, didn't cry, but pulled Tiffany into a hug.

"Aw...come on Tiff....it's ok....don't cry....please," said Chucky, "little help here."

Natalie was too distraught to help, but lifted the dolls up and hugged them again.

((Were you there when she died Hannah...what exactly happened...I just heard all this in the owlery))

Hayley smiled sympathetically at the dolls, then began to cry again. "I-I just c-can't believe she's d-d-dead," she said between sobs.

Holly looked at the dolls without speaking, without seeing.

Natalie put her free arm around Hayley and cryed with her.

"I k-know," she sobbed, "and so y-young....."

((What happened though...do you know?))

Hayley let go of Jake's hand, and patted Holly awkwardly on the shoudler. "Babes, dya wanna...sit down or something?" She had never really dealt with death before, and was unsure of what to do.

Natalie looked at Holly.

"It hurts...like it did before....doesn't it?" asked Natalie, looking into Holly in the eye with a soft expression.

Holly watched them expressionlessly, and after a moment, left the room quietly.

Hayley sniffed, and sat down, stroking Blueberry absent-mindedly. Normally, she would've chased Holly, but this time was different. She just hoped she didn't do anything...stupid.

Natalie put her dolls down.

"Look after them Hayley..." said Natalie, following Holly.

She caught up.

"Holly...Hols...it's ok the cry...." said Natalie, "you know it is....she was our friend...and we were really close..."

Holly nodded, still staying silent.
"Can we have a moment?" George asked Natalie, "Please? You go make sure Chucky doesnt kill anyone,"

"Yes...sure...anything you want," said Natalie to Holly sadly, "bye....sew you later Holly," she walked back into the room.

"See you," HOlly called back, and left.

Natalie looked a the floor.

"I just hope she won't do anything stupid," said Natalie, looking up at where Holly had been by the door.

Hayley frowned. "Me too," she said, meeting Natalie outside the Common Room. "We should go back in and see to the dollies," she said, putting her hand on Natalie's shoulder.

"Yes...lets," said Natalie quietly, before going back into the room.

Chucky was again snogging the face off Tiffany, who was not protesting...but snogging him back, and Natalie didn't feel like stopping them. She didn't feel like doing much at the moment.

There was a noise like a toilet plunger, and then Chucky spoke.

"Well...that was certainly...wet," he remarked.

"Thanks," said Tiffany.

"Well...it's because you were crying, wasn't it," said Chucky.

"I hope that was it," said Tiffany grinning.

Natalie looked down at the dolls and she couldn't help but giggled a little bit. Tiffany's hair looked like a fluffy sheep and Chucky has so much black lipstick marks on his face it looked like he had fallen into a coal bunker.

Hayley couldn't even smile at the dolls. She turned her fce away, her eyes welling up again. I can't believe she's dead. Phoenix, then funny, down-to-earth, didn't-really-care Phoenix. Why did she have to be gone? She thought. Hayley sniffed. "I'm going to bed," she mumbled, before picking up Blueberry and swiftly going upsatirs. She turned aroud before she reached the top. "Happy Birthday Nat," she said, with as much joy as she could muster.

Natalie sat down, tears in her eyes. Her party had been a wash out, and she know it, so she just sat, alone apart from the fact that he dolls were there, and cried her eyes out on a scarf someone had got her for her birthday.

Hayley, now half-way up the stair's, heard a faint sobbing noise. Feeling bad, she came back down again. "Nat? Awk, Natalie!" she sat down beside her, and hugged her tightly. "The party was great! If we hadn't got the awful new, it would've been fun. It's not your fault, I mean, I enjoyed myself!" she sighed, and was unsure wha to say. She conjured trays of hot chocolate and biscuits, hoping to make Natalie feel better.

Natalie did not stop crying.

"Hayley," she sobbed, looking at her friend, "Phoenix is gone...gone...if I had've been there...I would have at least been able to attempt to save her....but I had no idea...I could have saved her Hayley...if I'd have know."

Hayley frowned, and stared at Natalie. "Nat, you cannot possibly blame yourself for Phoenix's death! There's no way you could have stopped it. It was her time to leave us, and anyways, she'll be back as a ghost," she said, trying to reassure Natalie.

Natalie looked at Hayley.

"It wasn't her time to go....she shouldn't be gone," said Natalie, looking at the floor once more.

Hayley frowned, "I know," she said, tears springing to her eyes, "It's never really anyone's time to go, but,-" she stammered, unsure what to say, "Like I said, she's back as a ghost! It'll never be the same, but you know, that there was no way you could have saved her."

Holly re-entered, looking a fraction happier and smiled at Natalie.
"We have to continue your birthday celebrations kid," she said, "Phoe is okay shes .... a ghost and what not."

"I know....and she's coming back to life," said Natalie, "I heard."

Hayley nodded, and smiled, "Thank God," she said, sighing with relief.

"I know," said Natalie, grinning.
