Court Room 1 : Trial of RhiannonMei Vs. Miss Riding Hood

June stood at the witness stand, twisting her hands in her lap. She felt hot, though the court room was quite cool, and nervously looked around the room, her eyes staring at the tiled ceiling every few seconds. She hadn't pretended to be that wolf, she hadn't! But she knew that in court, her convictions didn't matter; it was the evidence that decided the case. June was her own lawyer today so she hoped that she'd do a good job. She untwisted her hands and rested them on the cool wood of the stand and looked down at her notes as well as the evidence.

(srry if i sound more like a lawyer thana juror)

Smartie looked at the evidence that she had found but thought to start out with a question.
"June, is it? Where were you the night Miss Riding Hood and her grandmother were harmed?"

"I was with my sister, Cristina also known as SilverLady here, and we were going over tactics for Gryffindor's next Quidditch Match," June said. "She's away right now, at a drawing camp, so she can't be here to corroborate my statement, but our neighbors saw me enter the house in the afternoon and I didn't leave it again until the next morning."

Violet listened to what Juna said before saying, "So, you sister just happens to be away during you trial? Weird. And whose to say you didnt sneak out during the night, out a back door. Of course, no one would see you then." Violet sat back and wited for someone else to say something.

And to back up what Stephy claimed, Chelle took out a large bag filled with evidence. She put her had in and pulled out the first clear bag.



"Very life-like wouldnt you think" Chelle said putting it down in front of June, "As Stephy said, this, among others was found in your house. How do you explain this?"

June grinned when they pulled out the costume. "Halloween, of course!" she said. "I'm a bit of a pack rat... Actually, I rarely throw anything away, so almost all of my Halloween costumes are somewhere in my house. From a bag of evidence at her feet, she pulled out a princess costume, a witch costume, and an angel costume. "See, the princess one is from when.... I was eight, I think, and the witch one is just from two years ago, and the angel costume is the one that I used last year."

"Why are you smiling? Is it because you think you can fool us?" Katherine said. "And it is extremly convient that your sister is away this week. Also, can you explain the red cloak? No?"

June stifled the urge to roll her eyes. "I laughed because I thought that you'd pulled out actual evidence that someone might have used to frame me. And I can explain the ripped cloak because of Halloween. That complete outfit was my Halloween costume a few years back, so logically, the cloak would be a bit small for me as I am now." She was beginning to get tired of the barrage of accusations, so June decided that now was time to start fighting back.

She took out a picture and showed it to everyone. "This is a picture of me in my house at 4:45 pm, 15 minutes before the crime took place; Cris took it. You can see the date and the time on the back of the picture because the type of camera that takes it records when it was taken; it's one of those old ones."

"And here's a map," she continued, pulling out a map from her bag. "Here's my house and here's the cottage of Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother." June pointed to two dots. "I couldn't have gone from my house to their cottage in the space of 15 minutes because our houses are 57 miles away from each other."

"Alright, but may I just ask, do you have any connection at all with LRRH, and if not can you verify on wether you had ever spoken to LRRH for us please?"

June tapped a finger on her arm as she thought back. She knew that she'd seen Little Red somewhere before, but.... where? Oh, right! That day, back then... "Yes," June said, "Last Easter I was in the park walking my dog and I met Little Red there. I remember her giving Butterscotch a few dog treats after he did some tricks for her." June paused. "But that was the only time when I've ever spoken to her for more than 5 minutes. I've seen her on the streets, of course, and said 'Hello', but we've never really talked."

"When was the picture taken? I see nothing on it, no time or date." Violet asked.

"On the back," June quickly explained, flipping the picture over. The date and time the picture was taken appeared at the bottom of the picture.

"Hm. May 11th. How old were you when you had that wolf costume. If you had said it before, it must have slipped threw my ears."

"I don't think I said," June said. "And... I'm not sure if I remember. I must have been.... what, seven? Nine?" She shrugged and added, "I'm sorry, but I don't remember exactly."

Smartie thought about all the evidence that was presented.

" I would like to point out what Stephy had said. You had a basket of goodies in your closet. if you used that basket for Halloween a few years ago why would you still have goodies in it?"

"When did your sister leave for camp?" Violet asked.

To Smartie, June answered, "It wasn't. I reuse the basket every year. My mother has a strict policy on Halloween candy, so even a year afterwards, I'll often still have candy in the basket." She turned to Violet. "And Cris? She left around half a week ago, though she'll be back in a few more days."

June dug around in her pile of evidence before producing a picture of wolf footprints. "This is a picture of the footprints that were outside Little Red's Grandmother's house and I assume that they belonged to the wolf. This picture shows that I can't have pretended to be the wolf because those footprints definitely aren't my feet! And I didn't have wolf slippers as part of my Halloween costume all those years back."

"OK, but can you explain why that frist paw print doesnt have a palm in the cement?" Violet asked

To Stephy, June said, "Well since I was playing the part of the wolf for Halloween, the cloak was tattered because to me at that time, it was logical for a wolf's claws to rip the cloak. So... that's what I did, with a pair of scissors. And about the picture, you don't. But that's the way that it is, and that's all I have to say on that subject. And your arguement about the pawprints is plausible, but no other markings that looked like wolf markings were found near the house."

(the first paw print, at the top, there is no palm under the claws like the second one)

"And how do you know about that, hm? Are you sure your sister is at camp? Are you sure she isnt covering some tracks the police as yet to find?" Violet asked.

June widened her eyes. "I don't know why she wouldn't be at camp. She loves to draw and she knows that I can take care of myself, especially when it's something that I didn't do." To Stephy, June shrugged and said, "But when asked, all of my neighbors testified to say that they didn't see me leave or enter the house at any other time. You mentioned a back door earlier, but our back door opens into a fenced-in garden." June thought for a moment. "Plus, what motive could I possiblly have to dress up as a wolf and scare Little Red and her Grandmother?"

"A gated in back yard means nothing! You could have jumped the fence, and stole away to her house in the night. Also, if a wolf had left his print in cement, then the cement would take days to dry! That picture can prove nothing!"

"What about the fact that she gave your dog a treat! You may not have liked that would you? Maybe you had just feed him, to keep his stomach from cramping up, and the fact she gave him a small treat may take effects of his stomach cramping during the night and thats what happen! So the get revenge, you messed with little Red and stole her goodies! All because she gave your dog a treat and his stomach cramped up making him uncomfortable."

(dont know about yall...but that happens to my dog)

June stared at Violet, dumbfounded. "I really didn't mind that she gave him a treat," she said slowly. "Butterscotch loves treats and she'd just done some tricks, so she deserved them. And her stomach didn't cramp up afterwards."

"If dogs could talk.....we would knon." Violet said, glaring. "I beleive you done it, your sister is off covering your tracks that police is yet to discover." She said adn sat down.

June shook her head and said, "Yes, I was a little bit miffed that she didn't offer to resize it for free, but it's not something that I was going to plot revenge over! I just told myself that next time, I'd go somewhere else to get Butterscotch's clothing done and that was that. I even baked Little Red's grandmother some blueberry muffins afterwards, to let her know that I was sorry for fighting with her."

"But I made the muffins and gave them to Little Red's Grandmother a day after our disagreement, which wasn't the day of the crime," June said. "And I didn't put anything in the muffins except for the ingredients listed on this recipe." She showed the recipe to everyone.

1 packet of muffin mix
2/3 cups of water
1 egg
1 tablespoon of oil
2 tins of blueberries included in package

"Werid? You just happen to have the recipe with you? Not a regular person remebers to bring a recipe for muffins with them." Violet said.

To Violet, June said, "Well, this is a court case. It would be ridiculous if I came today completely unprepared, because obvoiusly, no one's going to believe that I'm innocent unless there's proof. And Stephy, I'm a horrible cook without a structured recipe. If I added something, then I'd have to change the entire recipe, and I don't know how to do that. Math is my weakest subject."

"Just because it's a court case doesnt mean you bring food recipes." Violet said. "That only maes me think you did it more now. You thought ahead of time, knowing we knew everything that was involved in this case. And slipping a knock out potion into a recipe does change it at all." Violet said.

"Of course I thought ahead of time!" June said. "I knew that you probably knew all that happened between Little Red, her family, and I, so just in case, I brought with me things that had to do with our interactions. Baking muffins for Miss Riding Hood's grandmother was something that I thought could be used against me, so I brought along the recipe. And slipping a potion into a recipe changes it! Slipping anything into a recipe changes it! A potion is usually a liquid, which would make the muffins more gooey and mushy, making for bad muffins. I have no idea how to compensate for the consequent liquidity of the muffins, so if I had slipped a potion into them, the muffins I'd given to Miss Riding Hood's grandmother would have been mushy. But they weren't!"

June, do you really expect us to believe that these are purely Halloween costumes. Firstly, your faltering in your answer shows that you are having to think hard about what you need to say, and secondly, look at your costumes. A witch one, for example - So you have not only dressed up as a wolf to terrorise poor red riding hood, but also a witch to poison snow white! Does this never stop?

And lets look at that photo. Being a person who knows things about computers, I can tell you that it is easy to create smething such as a date on those using only a computer, and we know you have the software to be able to because we checked your computer! So another lie I see! That photo was not taken when you say!

And as for those footprints, you say that you dont have feet to match them, then why did we find these which match the prints perfectly, in your house!

Before I proceed with any accusations first I have only one question for you miss Mei.

Do you support team Edward or team Jacob? Answer honestly for we could prove without a doubt where your heart really lays.
