Elana - you stand on trial against Rapunzel.

You are accused of locking this poor girl in the tower for many years and not letting her out

You are to plead your innocence with any evidence to support it.

Jury members (everyone else) you are to prove her guilt with any evidence to support it.

I put it to you, Elana - You are the person who locked this poor girl in the tower and threw away the key. You were seen! You tried to disguise yourszelf in a costume, though how can you deny this is you:

You dressed up as tis charming Grim Reaper, charmed the socks off of Rapunzel and lead her to the tower to get rid of her. Why? Why?

"this evidance is clearly true. Your innocence is hard to defend with this sort of evidance that proves that you're guilty." jamie said solomly.
"I also have some evidance that would suggest that you locked Rupunzel in the tower."
Jamie flagged over to the T.V screen at his side.

"is this not your home, witch?" he asked but carried on without an answer " well i tell you all now that this was the very tower that Rapunzel was locked in, and this also belongs to the witch! Defend yourself now!" jamie sneared at her.

"Although the questioning has begun, I would like to state a few facts before I answer the specific questions," said Elana, trying to keep an anxious tremor out of her voice. She wasn't used to being called to court, and especially not to go on the stand, apparently at fault. After clearing her throat, she continued, "First of all, I believe it would be helpful to start at the beginning of the case and hear my take on it all. Next door to me there is a couple who had a baby girl years ago. After she was born, she suddenly disappeared. Now, for many years there were searches for the girl, and she has finally been found in a tower. Just as sudden as her reappearance was, was my being accused by my neighbors of taking the girl and locking her in that tower. I will say this now, and I am sure I will continue to say it throughout this trial: I did not take Rapunzel, and most certainly had nothing to do with her being kept in that tower.

"Chelle - in response to your first piece of evidence, no, I do not deny that that is me. But you have jumped to the conclusion that I had dressed like that in order to keep my identity a secret, when you cannot possibly know that. That is me, and it is a costume, but I didn't use it to trap the girl. That picture was taken when I was on my way to a costume party. Everyone was supposed to dress as a famous witch or wizard, and I chose Mnemone Radford, the first Ministry of Magic Obliviator and creator of Memory Modifying Charms. In that picture you see that I have used an Aging Potion, but that was for the sole purpose of looking the part. If you were to go to my home, you would find that costume in a trunk along with fairy wings, a sequined mermaid's tail, and a bunch of old hats. Now, as for your second bit of evidence, I am just as perplexed as you. I have no memory of doing such a thing, and besides, Rapunzel had been missing since birth, so I doubt that that is even the girl in question in that drawing.

"And Jamie, that is not my home. That tower belongs to my aunt, and as she has been traveling, or has said that's where she is, for the past few months, I have been taking care of it for her. Cleaning, watering the plants, etc. So I see where the confusion might have come from - I've been going there regularly for some time now, so it may have seemed like I live there. But I assure you, I do not. On this note, I'm sure you're wondering why I didn't notice Rapunzel upstairs. Well, it's simple, really. My aunt had asked me to not bother with the top chamber, saying that it was just the attic holding memorabilia from her younger days and was beyond help in the cleaning department. Also, I did not come on a schedule, so it would have been difficult for Rapunzel to know when I was coming and let down her hair to show me that she was inside. And please don't call me a witch, it's just plain rude.

"So, you see, it really shouldn't be me on this stand," she said, shrugging. She took a deep breath, leaning back in the uncomfortable chair, hoping that this would be over and forgotten soon.

[color=blue]Stephy listened to what all Elana has to say and then Stephy said "Why would your neighbors accuse you of taking the child at a young age. Surly they must have some reason as to why but you never said. Was it because you wanted to take care of the baby for yourself so you stole her. Why would your neighbors accuse you of such a thing if you never showed any signs of interest towards taking her."

"Also you said that you went to the tower and did some work there for your aunt. How do we know that she isnt in on it too. She could of lended you the tower to use since she is away. If not, then why is it that you did not notice her. Surly while you were there you would have spent some time there doing work there giving Rapunzel some time to get your attention. Then you could have helped her out."

Rigby stared at Elana, looking for tell tale signs of a liar. Unfortunately the defendant was giving nothing away. Glancing down at the evidence presented so far gave her no further enlightment. The picture of Elana in disguise was of no particular interest, and the one where she was supposedly seated next to Rapunzel was of no help either.

"I do think Elana's story has come crediability. The so-called picture of the defendant and Rapunzel is not a very convincing argument when we take a look at the facts. We know that Rapunzel had long, flowing hair. The woman in the picture does not. Plus, does it look like the inside of a tower? No, more like the inside of a bar. In fact, if we accept the picture as evidence it goes to show that her relationship with the defendant is one more of friends than of captor and prisoner. So I move to strike the second photograph from record."

Now Rigby focused her attention once more on Elana.

"Elana, just a few questions for now. I can accept your answers for the first two photographs. Appearing in costume is hardly an offence. But where your story breaks down is the part where you claim the tower is your aunt's. An aunt who is conviently still out of town and therefore unreachable. What I would like some answers on is this next piece of evidence. Take a moment to look at it and then defend it. If you can, that is.'

Rigby brought out the next piece of evidence, the deed to the tower where Rapunzel had been kept. The deed had Elana's name on it as the owner, and no other name appeared.

"Stephy, I was honestly shocked and horrified when my neighbors accused me of this crime," Elana said. "It is true that I have always wanted a younger sister, and I might have mentioned that to them - jokingly, of course - while Mrs. Davis was pregnant, but I would never take someone else's child. And as for your second set of questions, I see your point. I know that this doesn't look good for me now with all of this evidence stacked only against my word, so now seems like a good time for me to give some evidence myself." She grabbed a folder out from under her chair and set it on the table in front of her. From the folder, she took out a piece of paper.

Holding it up for the jury to see, she said, "This is a copy of the first interview with Rapunzel after she was released. I would like to read parts of it aloud as evidence as to why I did not notice her being trapped in the tower." She cleared her throat and read,

Quote :: Mr. Moore: Miss Rapunzel, would you mind telling us the manner in which you were kept?

Rapunzel rolls eyes.

Rapunzel: Well, sir, I was kept trapped in a tower...

Mr. Moore: Yes, but trapped how?

Rapunzel: The witch locked me in the highest room, that's how.

Mr. Moore: With a padlock or...?

Rapunzel laughs.

Rapunzel: Did you miss my saying she was a witch, Mr. Moore? Magic was involved.

Mr. Moore: Even so, you must have tried to reach the outside world somehow. There was a window in the room in which you were found. Did she do nothing to keep you quiet?

Rapunzel: She didn't keep me under some sort of silencing charm, if that's what you're asking. The only thing I could really do was sing, and since the tower was far away from town she didn't think anyone would hear me.

Mr. Moore: But someone did, didn't they? The prince that reported seeing the witch climbing up your hair told the Ministry that the way he found you was because he heard you. Wasn't there anything more that she did?

Rapunzel: When she went away, I think she did something to my window. Can you do a localized silencing charm on an inanimate object like that? Or it might have spread to cover the whole room, I don't know. Whatever she did, no one ever came while she was gone.

Mr. Moore: I see. This brings about the question of a Miss Richardson who, and I quote, "was just cleaning the house" when you were found. Do you know her? We believe she might be behind your kidnapping, and any information you can provide for us would be incredibly helpful in condemning her.

Rapunzel: I don't know who you're talking about, but there was someone in the house a lot of the time who didn't come up to see me. I guess that might've been her, or it could've been the witch...

Mr. Moore: Or, perhaps, both in one?

"Though the interviewer was against me, you can all see that it would have been very difficult, and maybe impossible, for Rapunzel to get my attention while I was on the lower levels of the tower," said Elana, placing the paper back into the folder.

As Rigby stated her opinions, for which she was grateful during the first part, Elana began to breathe again. Maybe this would all end soon, and they would just let her go. They couldn't actually believe she had done it - she could hardly believe...

And then, Rigby brought out the piece of evicence that she had hoped wouldn't come. For how could she defend something that carried her signature along with witnesses? She pulled the deed towards her, trying to look confused as her mind raced. There must be something she could say to make this most awful piece of evidence void! But what? What? Drawing a blank, she cleared her throat and looked up at the jury, her voice shaking as she spoke. "I...I..." Doubting that they would believe her if she told them that she had only recently acquired it from her aunt and forgot that during the previous questioning, she gluped. At the angry glares from the jury, her face blanched. Looking out at the jury with a hopeless half smile on her face, Elana's fingers twisted the hem of her skirt as her mind worked just as frantically to try and get her out of this mess.

Stephy listened to her story and what all Rapunzel had said and said "Rapunzel did say it could have been you or the witch. Why would she say this? Surely you and the witch dont look alike and she should of have been able to tell you apart. Also the prince heard Rapunzel, shouldnt you of have been able to too?"

"Please Elana tell us as to why your name is on the deed" Stephy said after she started to stumble. "There's something your not telling us and you better either say what it is or we might suspect that you've been lying to us this entire time."

Judges verdict that Elana is INNOCENT

Again all eyes look towards Jacob who is OBVIOUSLY guilty!
