Hey everyone! Being your HoM prefect, a job of mine is to make classes, so without further ado...

We all know about the four founders of Hogwarts - Rowena Ravenclaw, Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, and Helga Hufflepuff. But what do we know about their actual lives? What did they do before Hogwarts? During Hogwarts? And even after Hogwarts? In this class you will chose a founder (doesn't need to be your house) and write either a biography or autobiography (third or first person) on his or her life in +350 words. There is not a specific word limit, but keep it within one post. Here are a few elements I would like you to fit in besides the basic biography:

For Gryffindor:

- make sure to explain how he got the title 'bold' and where the 'wild moor' was

For Ravenclaw:

For Hufflepuff:

For Slytherin:

Note that for the "explain why this was" quote, please don't just say that they just liked people with that quality. Explain what in their personality and/or past made them favor the quality.

I am looking for quality more than quantity - the more creative the better! I will be looking at word length, but that's not as important as what is included.

Rowena Ravenclaw

Rowena was a fair women not having pale skin or light hair but being very beautiful. She has long dark hair and brown eyes which would show as to why she wasn’t fair like having pale skin or light hair. She must of have come from Scotland near the Great Glen where Nessie is located at. The Sorting Hat once said in his song that she came from the glen as to why I draw this conclusion.

Rowena then with the Godric, Salazar and Helga had came together and founded the school that would teach young witches and wizards. She had become great friends with Helga and had then founded her own house Ravenclaw along with the others who came up with their own house. Her house animal is a eagle and her colors are blue and bronze. She had spent most of her time learning as much as she could so when she founded her house she said that she would take only those who are willing to learn and treasure wit above all.

When she was younger she spent most of her time reading and going on long trips to learn as much as she could about everything. When she had reached her late twenties she made a diadem that had written on it her motto ‘Wit beyond measure is a man’s greatest tresure’. The diadem that she had made would make whoever was to wear it to be more wiser. This just goes to show how much she valued knowledge. Many claimed her to be the most brilliant witch of her time because of how much she knew. She was also trying to learn as much as she could even to her last dying days.Another great thing that she had created along with the diadem would be the ever-changing floor plan. This was something that was very hard to invent but she was able to do it using what knowledge she had gained over the years.

Rowena had only one daughter named Helena. Helena is now the Grey Lady, who is the ghost of the Ravenclaw house. Just recently it was found out that during Helena’s lifetime she had stole the diadem that Rowena had made. She ran off with it and hide it where she thought that no one would be able to find it. Many years later a boy named Tom Riddle found and he hide it too which was later found by Harry Potter but was destroyed. The only lasting reminder of Rowena’s diadem would be on the statue that is located in the Ravenclaw dorm room. The statue is of Rowena who is wearing it on top of her head.

As she grew older she had some relationship problems. No one knows with whom. She had kept her love life a secrete but some think that it could of have been either Salazar or Godric whom she had loved. As she grew older some had noticed how much sadder she had become and her family and friends said that it was from her relationship problems but they always refused to say anymore. Who knows, maybe she had loved Godric or Salazar and either one of them could not return the love that she had learned for. Whatever it may have been all we know is that she led a long and very successful life.

Founders Biography

Rowena Ravenclaw, one of the four founders of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, was considered the most intelligent of the four founders. She prized herself on her extensive knowledge and advanced academical skills.

Rowena Ravenclaw is thought to have been from one of the glens in Scotland. More commonly translated as a valley. She grew up there with her father and sister her mother died giving birth to Ophelia her younger sister. Her father Edward Ravenclaw was a social climber who always took the young ladies to various muggle balls. He tried to keep the fact that they were witches hidden but with Rowena’s extraordinary talent it was virtually impossible. Rowena left her home at the age of 17 with a man named Salazar Slytherin.

From a very young age it is thought that Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin had a close friendship. Salazar growing up near a local fen was not far from Rowena and the only other person to posses magical ability in the local area. Salazar was not in the same ‘social class’ as Rowena and therefore they never conversed openly and kept their friendship secret. It is thought that around the age of 15 these two had a romantic entanglement which a broken relationship with Rowena’s father whom did not approve. This was the motive for Rowena leaving at the age of 17 to join Salazar with his friend Godric.

Little is known about their travels until the time that they began to build Hogwarts with their new friend Helga. Once upon building it their popularity grew in secret and they found themselves immersed into a ‘cult’ of wizardry through Helga’s connections. At just the age of 26 the four ‘founders’ began to teach students of the wizarding nature all that they knew. Rowena’s and Salazar’s peculiar relationship was thought to carry on in secret the whole time.

At the time of the great founders split and Salazar’s departure, Rowena had begun to patch her relationship up with her father. She went to him on his death bed and it was there that he gave her the ‘Ravenclaw diadem’ which had been passed down through her family for generations. The quote ‘wit beyond measure is mans greatest treasure’ was one that was commonly spoken to in the Ravenclaw household and was considered to be something of a family motto. This particular saying was etched onto the diadem which was thought to hold an ability to bust the intellectual ability of the wearer.

For a long period of time it seemed that Rowena Ravenclaw disappereared from the face of the earth. She emerged many years later with a smaller toddler in toe. Though Rowena seemed to settle for the simpler things in life after that she always kept her belief up that if you were cleaver you were superior to everyone else around you. And that you could achieve anything and have everything if you had the brains. It is thought that Rowena’s child, Helena was conceived with Salazar Slytherin but this is only speculation.

Rowena died a young age of a broken heart but she always kept her ‘fair’ view on life believing that everyone had a fair and equal chance at everything she treated them all the same giving each child which set into Hogwarts a fair chance to become the next Rowena Ravenclaw.
