| I'll start... From the list, there are only two fandoms that I've never read/seen - Charmed and A Series of Unfortunate Events. I'd consider myself a fan of Doctor Who, Buffy, Twilight and HDM, and whilst I love Friends, HHGTG, Pirates and Skins, I'm more of a casual fan of them. I'll start with Doctor Who. Why do I like it so much? I think part of it is the characters and part of it is the great storytelling. The Doctor is an amazing character - so full of life and energy, but with a dark past and an inherrant loneliness to him - he's a great tragic hero. I've caught odd episodes from the old series, but it's the new series with Doctor's Nine and Ten that I love. The plots are top-notch and having DT to look at every week is no bad thing A couple of months ago I'd never seen any of Buffy - and after some cajoling from Sharon and Rai I caved and watched all seven seasons...and got hooked :D I didn't think I'd like it cos of the silly name, but it's so good! I love the characters (especially Spike hehe) and the plots and everything about it (though some of the season 1 and 2 episodes are stinkers). Twilight...what can you say about Twilight? Nearly everyone I know who's read it loves it (Rai is the exception to that ). What's not to like about a classic romance story with a twist? I can't wait for BD! I love the HDM books - the film not so much. The books are so complex and have so much scope it's amazing. Philip Pullman has a way with words that really pulls you in and the plots and thought behind the books is fantastic. Last one I'll talk about for the moment is HHGTG. I love HHGTG in all its incarnations - except the 2005 film (which I hated). I got hooked on Hitchhikers because of the 1970s radio show that I listened to when I was younger. I then saw the 80s BBC TV series (dreadful special effects, still the same, great Douglas Adams humour) and then read the books (seriously, when it advertises itself as a trilogy in five parts, what's not to love?). The humour is what makes HHGTG so great...Douglas Adams did funny like no one else. | |

| Well, from that list, I have only two that I can say I know of: Twilight, and Series of Unfortunate Events. I have heard of all of them, but never seen or read them (yet) Twilight is the best. haha. I even opened my own site for it! I just love it! Unfortunatly, because of The Cullens, I will never find a man haha. The plot is just one of those that keeps you wanting more. I even think its better than Harry Potter sometimes. haha. Stephenie Meyer has certiantly done somthing amazing. And I could go on for days about how awesome it is, so I guess I will stop now. Series of Unfortunate Events is a great series to. Die, Olaf, DIE!!!! haha. I never read the thirteenth book, but plan on reading it. It was one of the first books I read after the seventh Harry Potter book. Violets character just grabbed me, and I loved it ever since. My favorite one is Austere Acadmey, when we meet the Quagmires. haha. | |

| Obviously I love Harry Potter- most likely those that reading this post agree, otherwise why would you be here in the first place? XD I used to be into Daria, it was the first time I ever read fan fiction. I briefly enjoyed My So Called Life and Dark Shadows fandom. I'm still, although it's a bit casual, into Dead Like Me. But Harry Potter, through this site, is my only true hardcore fandom. Of course now there's Twilight, but for the most part I'm happy to discuss it here. I do listen to a podcast called Twilight Series Theories, the ladies that run it are a bit older than the average fan (just like me!).
I read a lot, but the HP and Twilight books are the only fandoms I'm involved with. I didn't even know there were ones for HDM and SoUE. I liked both series, especially the tongue in cheek tone of the SoUE books, but not enough to delve deeper. Hmmm... must look up to see if there are any Stephen King fandoms that bring Castle Rock to life...
Right now it's pretty much Twilight all the time. My friend Courtney and I started a book club, which I now have online since I'll be moving soon, and this month it's all about re-reading the first three books (which I also did last month XD) and then next month is Breaking Dawn!! Courtney's having the all night read-a-thon at her new apartment this time. Me, Ame and our friend Michelle (who will be bringing her new puppy, Sadie, home just a few days before the party and to the party as well), and possibly Tiffany- although Tiff's not really good at staying up all night, will be reading until dawn, or later if need be.
I actually made my husband, Aaron, listen to the audio cd of Twilight on our trip to Houston. We're still listening to it, but we made it to cd 8 of 11 and he's still listening! I also got him hooked on Harry Potter, but he's not as much of a nerdy reader as I am. I'm just thrilled that he's at least giving it a chance. That way when I drag him to the movie he'll know what's going on. XD He's such a good sport! I'm sooooooo glad that Sharon and Amy read Twilight and loved it too, and that most people on this site have as well (How's it going, btw, Herby?). I remember being a little nervous for this lovely site after the last HP book came out, but how silly is that? We're all a bit obsessive, no denying that, but we're loyal in our obsessions.

| Of all those, my top favourite is definitely Hitchhiker's Guide. I've read five novels within the "trilogy" as well as the little short story, Young Zaphod Plays it Safe. Loved them all, even if my brain did implode several times. I actually attempted to understand grammar as it relates to time travel. Yeah, that caused about five brain implosions, a nuclear explosion, and a mild catatonic state for about five minutes. The last one is a bit true. Also the whole bistro math thing...tried to understand that. The scariest part is, it kind of made sense. Personally I actually quite enjoyed the movie too. I wasn't too concerned about the dramatic differences, because I'm of the opinion that the book would have made a terrible movie. Twilight is the only book within that series I have read thus far. I loved it, though. Absolutely adored it. It was the fastest I ever read any book (at least factoring in size). I loved the fact that it was so intense and yet it was rather chaste. As far as through that book goes, I really like Jacob. I'm not a Bella/Jacob shipper or anything, but I like him as a character. I love Pirates of the Caribbean, but I despise the idea of Will and Elizabeth together. I think he deserves so much better than her. I used to like the idea of her with Jack, but now that she - Spoiler:
killed him
, I don't want her with anyone...except maybe Barbosa or someone else as self-serving as she is. Harumph.

| The only fandoms I know much about are Twilight, HDM, and Charmed. Twilight is definitely my favorite out of this list, I love everything about it, though my sister has tried to point out to me repeatedly that the wrtiting itself is not necessarily fantastic, it's mostly the suspense and love story that keeps me and a lot of fans reading. Either way, it's an amazing series. Buut Harry Potter will always hold my true obsession with a special place in my heart. I got into Twilight a little late into the fandom, but as of now I am just as obsessed as any other Twilighter and proudly on Team Jake.
I read His Dark Materials, just trying to get a viewpoint before the movie came out, but instead fell in love with the series. They seriously screwed up the movie [and the whole killing God thing. Which doesnt actually happen btw. DONT LISTEN TO THEM!], but the books are amazing. It's so amazing how the character are only 12 years old, yet Pullman manages to make them so much deeper and how they change throughout the book. It may SF/F but it relates amazingly well to today's world. I wasn't actually aware that there was a large fandom for it, or at least not an obsessive one that likes to be heard..but i adore HDM regardless.
And I started watching Charmed a while ago and watched it obsessively for a good bit, until the story line started to get reeally messed up and the characters got all OOC and then it sort of got canceled..so yeah. I liked the earlier episodes though. xD I never really got into Buffy, Friends, Pirates, SoUE or Hitchhiker's guide, and I actually never heard of Doctor who or Skins until I came onto HE and have never seen 'em.
