| A place to discuss what photography means to you: your influences, ethical challenges, abstract ideas, and other non-technical matters about photography and photographers. | |

| well um... wow, I'm the first to post here?! XD
I love photography no matter where and what - I remember once using up 7 films on mainly.. houses and trees XD (thank goodness that I have a digital camera now so I can shoot tons of pics without a bad conscience xD)
But there is one limitation about photography that I have - the inside of churches/synagogues/any holy places. Well, a lot of them just don't allow you to do it but even if they don't impose any restrictions - I just feel that sacred places should somehow not be photographed. Whenever we are on vacation and visiting churches, my dad wants me to take pics (well, he basically takes pics of everything xD) and I always get upset and just refuse to do it... what do you think? Oh, and even worse than photography of churches from the inside is doing that while there's any sort of mass. | |

| I don't think it's wrong to take photogrpahy inside a holy place unless threre religoun forbids it, and in that case, you should be respectful and obey there rules. I defnitly agree that you should not take pictures during an actual service unless its like first communnion or something.. The reason I'm not against it all together is.. they are beautiful places and I think everybody should be able to feel touched by them as long as its not sirespectful. If some one feels they connect with things better through photos then I think they should probably ask permission to take photos if it helps them understand better. | |

| I think it is okay to take pictures inside holy places, as long as they permitt it. Most of these places are beautiful, and their beauty should be perserved. I also think that taing pictures during mass is okay, if the church congrgation all okays it, such as if you were taking a picture for a brochure for their church, or somthing like that. One thing that bothers me is when people take pictures of somebody visiting a loved ones grave. I have seen some like that, and I feel this is a MAJOR invasion of privacy. | |

| Defintily. Because when people are visiting a grave it's a private time for them and I don't think it's right for people to invade on sometying so special for those people. | |

| I've never been a huge fan of photography usually preferring to be in the photo instead of taking a picture of it. I do however take my camera around with me a lot and I just love taking pictures of big buildings, friends and family. | |

| I have always loved taking pictures. I would always go around the yard taking pictures of our pets and gardens and trees. I took a lot of pics of the sky and the ground. I just love taking pictures. Now I have been taking pictures of everything and they are really good and I am proud of myself, thats what I always wanted to do, be a photographer for a magazine or something. | |

| I think i usually take pictures of me and friends together. thats the point isn't it, to remember good times. but these days i Have been taking pictures of the sky and plants and my zoo animals (xD) I see a new light to taking pictures now because there is a wider range went you think outside the box. sometimes i think it best to experiment with pictures, make sure you get it right. | |
