Free Rice Game - housepoints for supporting the good cause?

As I was playing the Free Rice Game found in the Games Galore just now, I had an idea: How about promoting it and its good cause by awarding housepoints to eager players?

In the game, you are given one word and then four others as options, and you've got to figure out which of them means the same as the first words. For every word gotten right, 20 grains of rice are donated through the UN World Food Program. You don't need to sign up or anything like that, you simply play the game and the small ads at the bottom of the website ensure that the amount of rice you gain is paid for. As an advantage for yourself, you can learn new words and improve your speech.

I think that this is a very good idea for a game and that we should try and support it by promoting it - and honestly, which way of promoting works better here at the HE than housepoints as a reward? Of course this would require either trusting all members or asking for screen shots to confirm the amount you state you've donated by playing, but I don't think this would be a huge problem since it works for so many other games.

The amounts of rice could then either be turned into housepoints somehow, or the most eager players could be rewarded after a certain period of time (e.g. one month). What do you think of this idea? Like it, disagree with it or maybe even got a better suggestion?

I think this is a good idea, however, I am a bit confused about how you would award the housepoints... would it be for every million grains, every thousand?
The screen shots would be a must, and I aggree about those not being a problem.
Overall, I think it sounds good, and I would participate for housepoints. : ]

It could work as any other game.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place, that is the people who get most grains, earn certain amount of points and the rest who participate get a fixed share also. This coul be done monthly as the game never ends.

It could never be a ratio of grains/points otherwise people would just play it day and night, win cazillion points and forget the rest of stuff to do in HE.

Yes funny though this time I actually agree with Rai, Yea. Maybe 1st 2nd and 3rd each term is a better solution.

I'd agree that doing it the way Rai suggested would make the most sense. And maybe if we do it like that on a monthly basis we could then award some more points to the person who's gained the most in the overall term?

Yes monthly and end of the term places could be done. End of the term should be the some up of all past months put together.

Love it! I play this game at work when I am bored. Plus, I love vocabulary. Words are yummy!

I actually never thought of that but it would help the world perhaps if it is worth housepoints a lot more people will get involved and play.

I think it is a great way of promoting the game so members can go and help a good cause but I see a problem with giving points for it - people can cheat! There is no real way to show how many grains you have made and anyone can simply add any number into the post.

They must print screen it and prefirably add their names to it in any graphic software so others won't cheat. *goes take a look at game*

It's basically what we do with a lot of games around the site, the whole print screen and edit your name in business.

I am wondering whether or not it's actually going to happen, though - any updates on it so far?
