Make sure you guys follow her rules. I help in assisting Professor Elana every now again. So please respect her the way you would respect me. Thanks XD.

| Thanks Herby! Alrighty, let's get down to business, as I know you're all excited to do. As Herby said, I'll be helping you to become the best Beaters you can be!
THE BASICS OF BEING A BEATER
The Job Your job, first and foremost, is to not let your team get hurt. Whether that be to whack a Bludger in their path to deflect another, or deflect it with your body...whatever the situation calls for.
Equiptment Every Quidditch player has her or his own equiptment. Everyone has a broom (don't be afraid to be creative with naming the make!) and a set of Ravenclaw blue robes, and, being Beaters, you have your own special piece of equiptment - your very own Beater's bat!!! Your bat is your most trusted friend, along with your broom.
RP As you probably know, Quidditch games are posted in rp (role play) form. This means that you're going to be writing in third person (no "I" "me" "you" unless it's in your thoughts!). Try to be descriptive! Use your emotions, actions, other players actions/emotions, the weather - anything! This makes the posts more interesting and personal (and we'll get more points for amazing posts :D). But, in the end, it's QUALITY over QUANTITY, which means that you don't have to post when there's nothing to work off of to just get another post in. Once you know all of this (trust me, won't take long), then you're on your way to becoming an awesome Beater! | |

| POSTING Points Per Post: 25 Total Points Possible: 75 Points Earned: Those who have already completed the class: Hppamela, Shausto-la, Just_Ginny, Ziggy There will be other classes for you, don't worry! ~*~*~*~ Okay, so now that we have a basic idea of what it means to be a Beater, I would like you to begin developing your Quidditch posting skills! (REMEMBER: PUT (*insert house here* BEATER) AT THE TOP OF YOUR POSTS ALWAYS!!!) To make this easier, I'll give you a list of posts that you can complete whenever you like, with the weather and any other situation you need, maybe even some suggestions. I'll try and be a nice constructive critisizer :D Please put all in the same post, unless they won't fit :D Keep in mind that this is all during the same game ^^ And have fun with this! Please! 1) an entrance post - It's mid-afternoon on a rainy Friday. The temperature is in the sixties, and wind blowing quite harshly. You are the first to come on to the pitch. Elements to try to fit in: - getting ready (being in the locker room, getting on your robes, taking your broom and bat, etc) - your eagerness to play - the difficulty of the weather conditions - what you'll do until others arrive (Remember: the balls haven't been released, so you can't just whack around a Bludger. Try practicing some flying manouvers or anything else you can think of!) 2) a mid-game post - Most of your team has arrived, and the opposing team is up 70 to 10...mega OUCH. Your Chasers are in possession of the Quaffle, and are passing it among the three of them as they fly down the pitch. But wait - could that be an opposing Chaser trying to nudge his or her way in and grab it? Or is it a Bludger that's racing towards them from above? Is the Keeper too well protected by its team for your Chasers to score? Or is it something that only YOU know (ie: make something up)? YOU decide! Elements to try to fit in: - evaluating the situation - the process of getting a Bludger/flying over/whatever you need to do before directly interfering - the actual interference (ie: taking aim and hitting the Bludger/using body as a shield (it happens...)/whatever needs to be done - the aftermath (remember: you can't god-mod (control other people's actions), so make sure to not put something like - Elana swung her bat at the Bludger, knocking it right into the Chaser's broomstick and causing her to fall. Instead, try something like this - Elana swung her bat at the Bludger, sending it towards the Chaser's broomstick, hoping it would hit and knock the Chaser off course. See the difference?) 3) a near to the end post - Your team has scored, and the Keeper has done a great job blocking goals, so the score is now tied 80-80. There are a number of things going on at once: Your Seeker has her eye on the Snitch, but the other Seeker does too! Your Chasers are speeding down the pitch with the Quaffle for another goal, but both Bludgers are headed at their formation! Your other Beater was hit and is in the Hospital Wing, so it's up to you! Elements to try and fit in: - evaluating the situation - making your choice - solving the problem - the aftermath | |
