| There are two parts to this class.
The first part is to create a new potion. List at least 5 ingredients and give a detailed explanation as to what the potion does. The first part will be worth up to 20 pts, with 10 pts awarded to the most creative potion.
Once the potions are created, Snape will come to check them out. Then the real fun begins! Snape will hand your potion to another student, and you will receive some one else's poison...er, potion. Then you must drink it and describe it's effects as you interact with your fellow classmates. This portion of the class is up to 60 pts, the more you participate the better your score will be!

| Paranoia Potion :
Ingredients :
3 Dragon Tears ½ litres of cat’s blood Wolf’s Fang Pinch of wariness Unicorn’s Breath
When taken, the Paranoia potion begins to work within a few seconds, giving the drinker a heightened sense of things going on around him or her, but it will seem a pessimistic awareness. Depending on who took it the victim, ahem, patient (insert innocent grin here) will think that they see or hear people talking about them, watching them intently, or, in extreme cases, will think that they are conspiring to kill them. Even a friendly gesture is all too easily mistaken by some one who has taken the Paranoia potion. The cure is to give them a euphoria potion, and cross your fingers...

| Abel Potion:
1/3 of dragons blood A pinch of Unicorn Horn ½ a cup of rosewater 2 frozen ashwinder eggs 1 drop of Acromantula venom With its crimson red look, the Abel Potion causes all systoms of a heart attack for the first three minutes and then you start seeing things. After what seems like weeks, which as really been just ten minutes, you start getting the chills and sweats, and start getting a fever. You feel your insides burn, but yet they don’t at the same time and you start getting confused as to where you are. Soon after, you feel like you are floating on air and you are in a dream-like state, you hear nothing, see nothing, nor smell anything. After exactly 10 minutes, you snap from the potion and feel sick, but nothing major. It's not to be taken with any healing potions, food, or water until 24 hours are up. If so, you may end up getting going threw the same thing again.

| TransformAni Potion
2 scoops of beetle eyes 100ml Camel milk 2 shrivel figs (finely chopped) 3 doxy eggs Something of the animal you want to change into.
This potion is indeed for someone who does not wish to train as an animgus, or has some difficulty with transformations. When taken, you transfigure into the animal you have selected (By selected I mean put something of that particular animal in the potion) and it will only take about 30-45 seconds to take effect fully....but when it does, you will be amazed to your very core at the results. Each delicate feature of the animal will be mirrored in you, and people will not even know you are a human at all. This potion has arguably given better results than if you were to become an amingus...so try it for yourself! Effects last up to forty ares. Side affects after return to human form may include itching and dryness of the mouth.

| Emmedane Potion
Ingredients: Crushed unicorn horn asphodel, chopped. essence of belladonna valerian
When a single drop of emmedane potion hits your tounge, you know you are in trouble. Using a mixture of ingredients, this potion is sometimes referred to as "The Draught of Mood Swings". Brewed for three days at a boil, starting on the night of the full moon, Emmedane potion will make a person fall into a deep sleep, often lasting for days, where said person has crazy, confusing dreams. Their dreams may start sweet, or nightmareish, whichever it starts as they should know they are in for a wild ride.

| The Saetacolo Potion
5 Crushed red rose petals (for Red) 9 Drops of lemon juice (for Yellow) 6 Crushed wings of Cornish Pixies (for Blue) 5 Drops of peppermint essence (for Green and to balance the Billywig) 2 Dashes of armadillo bile (for Stability) 7 Dried Billywig stings (for Levity) 4 Crushed butterfly wings (for Change)
The Saetacolo Potion is a light-hearted concoction that's used for fun. A vial of it is a normal dosage which lasts for 6 hours. Once drunk, it changes the drinker's hair color and the color then switches randomly from color to color, each shade lasting for 5 minutes. This potion is easy to make, and any adequate Potions maker could brew it correctly. Usually used for pranks, jokes, or just for fun, the Saetacolo Potion was very popular in the 60s and the 70s. If the drinker overdoses, the effects include minor levitation, a tendency to laugh randomly, and a mild headache.

| Interpressidua (Interpretatio Assidua, The Incessant Comment)
1/3 of Sugar Syrup - It is the base working up the mind to highest level. 5 dashes of Glumbumble Fluid - This creates the melancholy needed for illusion of a bad mind. 3 Fluxweed Sprigs - It will add the final change into a truely evil deceit. 5 drops of Belladonna Essence - This will add the poisonous note to every comment. 1/3Bezoar - It works to balance out the Belladonna poison so the drinker doesn't die. 5 Chopped Ginger Roots - Those will sharpen the drinker's wit to notice anything worth commenting on. 3 Joberknoll Feathers - They are used to point out the really hurtful truths and memories for best comments. 5 leaves of Lovage - This will confuse the drinker so he won't know when to stop talking and instead comment almost everything.
The Interpressidua Potion, colour- and odorless as Veritaserum almost, is one that since the day of its creation has caused many an embarassing hours. Once taken, it will surge throughout the blood in a matter of second, affecting the mind mainly but spreading all over the body and last up to 24 hours, depending on the dose drunk. It can be brewed by any fairly talented wizard, yet as every other potion it requires careful preparation.
The effect of this potion is changing the consumer's character - normally for worse - it gives him a rough edge and then makes him notice all the opportunities to add snide remarks and the like. During the lasting time of the potion, he or she will also have a heightened sense as to what is hurtful and really shocking for the victim, plus since under the influence of Lovage, he is so confused he will step over all boundaries and not ever fell ashamed of it until the potion wears off or is stopped by use of an antidote. The one specifically brewed against the Interpressidua consists of one litre of Salamander blood to strengthen the drinker to face the damage he's done and make up for it. It also includes some powdered Moonstone to regain emotional stability and Alihotsy leaves to balance the effects of Glumbumble fluid in the original potion.
It is not surely known why and by whom this one was invented, though nowadays it is commonly used for damaging enemies' reputations or the like. Side effects occuring more often are a slight change left to the drinker's personality, a turn for the better when giving the potion to someready who's already bad and, naturally, unrepairable damage to relationships between the consumer and others he commented on.

| Ingredients:
a 1/2 pound of deadly night shade 3 tiger fangs 1 cat tail-bone 10 strands of unicorn main 4 drops of werewolf blood 17 drops of any color dye
This potion only takes seconds to work. It has a very bitter taste, and is very chunky. Once the user drinks it, there skin will turn soft and smooth, then it will begin to change to the color of dye used in the potion. This could be useful for a disguise, and it could also be used as a silly joke or trick. It takes around three hours to wear off, and after your color returns to normal, you will feel dizzy and be dying to take a nap. If the user does fall asleep within 45 minutes of returning to normal, they will not remember a thing about turning colors or taking the potion. You can apply more than one color in the potion, but you must do it quickly for it to turn up on the potion user.

18 gallons of hot sauce ( muggle only)
1/2 of a cup of crushed pixie wings
Powdered Graphhorn horn ingredients

| Paternus Lingua native tongue
1. 10 drops of Armadillo Bile to speed up processing language
2. 1 powdered Runespoor egg to enhance mental ability
3. 2 powdered Scarab Beetles to strengthen wit
4. 5 sprigs of Fluxweed to make the language change easy
5. 3 boiled Jobberknoll Feathers to retain the language for a while afterwards
This potion is mainly used for translators or travelers, as it makes the drinker's speech the same as the first thing he or she hears after a few drops. This may seem like something too good to be true to those who struggle with languages, but it comes with a warning - whatever you hear first will be what you speak like, not whoever. For example, say you were visiting Chicago from, say, France and you're having trouble getting the words out. So you take a swig of Paternus Lingua, expecting Midwestern English to come out easily, when a pigeon squawks as you swallow. Instead of English, you've begun to chirp. The potion's affects will last 8-12 hours, so make sure you take it at an opportune time!
(For the second part of the assignment, please hear a what instead of a who! Make it a lot more fun ^^)

| Draught of Calm
13 and 1/2 dead pine needles (Ground into a fine powder)
3 petals from a snap dragon flower
5 ounces of juice from a lime
1 eye from a Blast Ended Skrewt
8 millilitre's of Mimbulus Mimbletonia stink sap
Boil all ingredients except for the pine needles in a cauldron on medium heat for exactly 32 minutes. You must stir counterclockwise continiously with a wooden paddle made from a white birch tree. You cannot stop stirring for a second. Remove from heat after the 32 minutes is up, strain potion and place in a maple wood bowl. Next, add the pine needles, stirring only 7 times clockwise. Let the potion set for 2 hours before you give it to be taken.
This potion is used to calm the nerves of the drinker. It is commonly used by Healers at St. Mungo's after someone comes in that has experienced great trauma. It relaxes the drinker, calms them down, so that they can give Magical Law Enforcement officials a detailed and clear description of what happened to them.
You definitely do NOT want to take this potion if you do not need to be calmed down. It is ONLY for people who are frantic or extremely upset. Side effects for people taking the potion not as prescribed could put them in a catatonic state.
