Okay so a lot of you will be looking at this going, Ettie has lost her minddddddddd!

BUT I HAVEN'T!

Now, those within my own lobely house Hufflepuff will know that i'm on a new craze this month and that is "Doing things with a Twist."

And a Past, Present, Future homework with a twist is my idea of fun.

Okay so lets shake this up a big :D

Part One: Past - for the first time in a P/P/F homework i am going to say "write their past as it were when they were alive." You have a minimum of 150 words and a max of 300 words.

Part Two: Present: We all know Sirius dropped off his perch in Book Five, so for his present, write about what he is currently up, just chilling in the veil, playing tennis with James and Lily ... You get my drift. You have a Minimum of 300 words and a Max of 450.

Part Three: Future: Again, we know Sirius makes a ghostly appearance in book 7 but what does he do after that? You decide! Minimum of 300 words Maximum of 600.

You can earn up to 70 points for this homework, it just all depends on you and how much information you give!

Part 1.

Taken from a ‘lonely man’ column.
King Henry is a rather boastful man. His tummy sticks out like a clock tower and his speech is more mumbled than a clueless Shakespearean actor. He enjoys long walks on the stone cobbles, killing off wives, and yelling loudly at servants when they don’t bring the sick bowl fast enough at feasts. However, he has been described by some as ‘a lovely kind man, who will do anything for the one he loves, as long as they can have healthy, handsome, baby boys. You should only answer to this advertisement if you have bore only boys in marriage. You don’t have to be single and ready to mingle. The big man has made himself a church of his own. You may have to live with him, but think about it this way, women live longer than men. Please send a copy of this advertisement and a picture of yourself plus your address in an envelope. Send the envelope to

Part 2

Siruis climbed up the ladder to heaven singing:
‘I’m goin’ on up to the spirit in the sky,
That where I’m heading now that I’ve died.
Now I’m dead, they can’t lay me to rest,
So I’m goin’ to the place that’s the best!’
Siruis finished the last line off with a very high pitched note and climbed on. The gates to heaven weren’t far from where he was, he could see them, the gold shimmer was almost blinding. There were some people standing outside with signs. They became bigger as he climbed upwards. They were holding things that looked like signs. As he climbed on, he became more curious about what they were doing. Soon he began to hear chants:
‘Let us in! Let us in!
We don’t practise witchcraft!
We’re good we tell you good!
Let us in! let us in!”
Siruis rolled his eyes at the terrible chant, but climbed on. Curious to see the whole show. As he got to the top he could see that they we’re all dressed like muggles from the 70’s. Siruis gave a little giggle at this. He looked around the people looking to find someone that weren’t chanting to ask them what this was all about. The signs had various rude gestures on them; Sirus thought that they weren’t helping the situation very much. There was one girl, who looked like the ringleader, she had long ginger hair, tied up at the back by a bunch of daisies. He walked up to her and tapped her on the back and coughed lightly to get her attention.
“Excuse me, I’ve just died and I was looking for a bit of peace and quiet in heaven... may I ask if this is necessary?” he asked with a polite tone in his voice.
The girl turned around and looked at him. Siruis knew her at once...
“Siruis?” the girl asked
“Lily!” Siruis yelled in surprise.

Spoilers for the 7th book if anyone hasn’t read it.

Part One: Past - for the first time in a P/P/F homework i am going to say "write their past as it were when they were alive." You have a minimum of 150 words and a max of 300 words.

On April 22, 1959, Sirius Black was unfortunately born into the Black family. His parents, Walburga and Orion Black had high hopes for their eldest son, hoping he would uphold their pureblood family honor. After all, they considered having the Black name to practically being royalty. But even as a boy, Sirius didn’t agree. And that was the start of the rift between his family. It grew worst when he arrived at Hogwarts and was put into the Gryffindor house. He became friends with James Potter, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew and spent his days being a troublemaker.

Soon he had enough of his family and officially moved out at the age of 16, which resulted in him being immediately blasted off the Black family tree. But Sirius didn’t care, he was too busy fighting with James on who got the bigger room in the Potter house. Later he bought his own house with money he inherited from his Uncle Alphard. Sirius then graduated from Hogwarts and joined the Order of Phoenix with his friends. Unfortunately soon after, he was accused of being a traitor and was thrown into Azkaban without a trial.

After being locked up for 12 years, he finally escaped and reunited with his godson, the famous Harry Potter. Even though he was able to prove his innocence to many people, there was still not enough proof and he remained a fugitive. Yet it was all too soon when two years later, he was killed in a battle with his cousin Bellatrix Lestrange and fell through the mysterious veil at the Department of Mysterious and never seen again. Or so people thought.

Life behind the veil isn’t as boring as many would think. It turns out that dying behind the veil actually gave Sirius Black the ability to move between the mortal world and the spirit world. Something that irritated James to no end as he didn’t get any powers when Voldemort killed him years ago. He was only able to travel to the mortal world when Harry was in grave danger, which made him hope to never see his son again. But Sirius was able to travel between the two worlds as much as he pleased, having the best of both worlds. Although, he still wasn’t able to eat or drink anything which irritates him to no end when he goes to parties. But at least he was able to do more than most spirits. Of course, Sirius always knew that he was ‘special’.

After Sirius disappeared behind the veil and realized he was dead (that was a huge bummer), he immediately went off to find James and Lily to catch up. After a few minutes of talking, he realized that there weren’t that much to say as he wasn’t exactly the life of the party during his 12 years in Azkaban. But it was still fun to hang out with everyone again. It was just like old times, except bloodier and a bit more depressing as everyone seemed to start off their stories with “You know before I died…”

Sirius did not find out about his handy little ability until a few years later when he accidentally fell through the veil and realized that he could enter the mortal world by going back through the veil. Having gone through the first time and dying instantly, it never entered his mind to try and go through the veil again. He was able to travel like a ghost would among living people and still communicate with them. Yet he always went home to his home behind the veil every night as he always floated through the beds in the mortal world.

Although he seemed to have the best of both worlds, he was still considerate of other people’s feeling as he assured Nearly Headless Nick that being in the spirit afterlife was not all it was cracked up to be. For one, everything was so blurry and smoky that he felt the need to get his eyes checked every once in a while. And he assured Lily and James that Harry was perfectly fine and he sends his love everyday.

Part Three: Future: Again, we know Sirius makes a ghostly appearance in book 7 but what does he do after that? You decide! Minimum of 300 words Maximum of 600.

As we all now know of Sirius’s special ability to travel between the living and the spiritual life, he is about to get a lot busier than he thought he would be as nothing comes without strings. As soon as people found out about his ability, he will soon become flooded with requests from the dead and living alike. To pass on messages, reminders, or just well wishes. Truthfully, Sirius soon becomes a personal mailman for everyone he sees. But that’s not the worst part of the job, the worst part is seeing as he cannot physically hold letters, he has to recite them from memory. Something that frustrates him to no end as he soon realizes that this is worst than school as James laughingly reminds him everyday before he leaves to his daily visit to Harry and his kids.

Luckily Lily proves that she’s still as intelligent as she was when she was alive by managing his work schedule for him. Planning his routes, appointments, and times so he would still have his own personal time to do what he wants.

And what can this be you ask? Well, soon after the defeat of Voldemort, Sirius found himself in the same company as though they were still in Hogwarts as the Marauders were reunited once again when Remus and Peter died soon after him. At first Sirius and James were leery about letting Peter hang out with them again but they soon gave in. After all, what was he going to do this time around? Betray them all and kill them again? Not likely.

Even though Snape’s innocence was proved, he still did not hang out with the Marauders as he may have pretended to be evil, but the hate for Sirius was real. Not to mention it was a bit awkward after his love for Lily had been revealed. But Sirius has no problem teasing them about their ‘friendship’ even though James asked him not to. He had to do SOMETHING to make the time pass by quicker. Eternity was a long time. But he equally divides his time between annoying Snape and annoying Voldemort. “Who’s the man? Not moldy Voldy!” was usually enough to make Voldemort’s red eyes pop out.

Of course, he does travel into the living world from time to time, but only on holidays as the more people die, the more he finds that the spiritual world is even more fun than he thought.

Part One:

Sirius Black. When one hears the name, they cower in fear. Not may know the tale of poor, unfortunate Sirius Black. Young Mister Black was born into the most known pureblood family of the time- Black. When Sirius was born, Walburga and Orion knew he was different, he was special. He showed all the true signs of a dominating pureblood, their brain washing doing the trick. Of course, Sirius also had cousins, one that outshined the others- Andromeda Black. When Bellatrix and Narcissa would ignore him, he would turn to his middle cousin, who would teach him about how muggle borns were different, but special. The years passed and his cousin was sorted into Slytherin. Not soon after, he was presented before the sorting hat and the beautiful words of GRYFFINDOR shouted. The hall, at first, was quiet. Then the table with scarlet and gold ties erupted into shouts and smiles. Sirius jumped from the stool and moved to the table.

As the years went by, he became closer to James Potter, his best friend. One was never seen without the other. One would swear they were brothers. Of course, there was one itty bitty problem when they finished school- Voldemort. With him on the rise, James only trusted Sirius and likewise. They hatched a brilliant plan but the one they thought they could trust turned on them. Sirius was captured and sent to prison, only to escape years later.

Part Two:

Poor old Sirius Black. He had rejoined the Order, fought his deranged cousin, only to fall into the veil. Yes, Mister Sirius Black was dead. Cold as ever, but with his new life, he could watch over Harry at all times, but never talk to him. It had taken him days to figure it out. He wasn’t a ghost; no he was in a place that muggles called heaven. He could see, hear, and feel everything. He could taste the air around him instead of just breathing it. But it had taken minutes to find Lily. He had fallen in love with her once, but not in the way one would think. She was his sister, his best friend, the only person (besides James) that he could trust. At first, she had been shocked to see him, but her smile graced her face and she pulled him in the direction of two people- James and Regulus. Regulus had changed his ways before dying, something Sirius never knew. He had decided to help destroy Voldemort once he got in too deep. James had welcomed him with opened arms, the same way Regulus had welcomed him.

The surrounding area was nothing but white. It was beautiful, fluffy, and cloudy. Maybe this was why muggles called this heaven. It was different. Sirius learned being here was a giving, not a right. Only those who proved themselves would be allowed here. Sirius had proved that he loved his godson, that he was innocent. When he fell, he passed into this new live where all they done was protect those who needed protection. In this world, they were like the angels muggles would talk about. In this world, noting could hurt them, nothing could ever go wrong, nothing could change, and nothing would be disrupted. In this world, they were perfectly normal.

Part Three:

His life was like a living hell. He had stopped doing his duties the day Harry had call them, Lily, James, Remus, and himself, to the forest. He had been happy, he had seen Harry, and he was able to walk on the earth again, even if it was ghost form. Lily could tell he was the one who took it the hardest. The moment he had seen Remus, he had fell apart. Apparently, nothing being able to disrupt the pattern had failed. Sirius had refused to protect his godson anymore and when Lily and James had both turned on him, he just gave up. Remus tried to talk him out of it, but it just wanted to live again, to be able to walk among the earth with everyone. For years, Sirius was like this until the day his godson walked through the veil, his hair black once more and his eyes full of live. Harry looked like his 18 year old self, but it most of been fifty years since he had seen him. Harry had smiled, his eyes betraying him. He too wanted the walk once more. Seconds later, Hermione walked right through, looking youthful as ever. Sirius was confused until one last person made their way through. Ron Weasley, who looked as confused as the rest.

Sirius realized what was going on and his depression completely disappeared. He had three friends, friends who he loved and helped him when he was on the run. He wasn’t sure how they died, but they had. He started to protect those again, watching over the one that was named after him and James. He was delighted the day he was able to meet this person, who had lived up to the name James Sirius, who walked in with his mother, Ginny.
