Getting To Know Your Ghost

Now class – er, I mean imprints of departed souls. Sorry, still getting used to teaching ghosts. You of all people know that you don’t choose to be a ghost when you don’t have an interesting history, right? Right. So the question to answer in this class is simple: Would you tell me about your life?

If you’ve answered “Yes,” then keep on listening. If your answer was “No,” I guess you’d rather find another class to do.

You, in the back of the class. Yeah, I know you think you’re totally invisible now that you’re a ghost, but I have fantastic vision. Trust me, just ask my normal students. If you’re not going to pay attention and do the work I have no choice but to show you to the door – or wall, floor, ceiling, you pick – and another class.

Anyway, for the “Yes”ers, I’m sure you could give me a detailed explanation of your life that would fill up many, many books. However, I’d like you to keep it between 300 – 1,000 words. If your memory has gotten foggy and you can’t quite remember everything that happened from your birth to ghosthood, feel free to use some sources – just remember to cite them! And it’s a big range, I know, but some people have better recorded histories. Creativity can be used to fill in the gaps for those of you without much information remaining. Since this is about you and you’re telling me, feel free to use first person. Note that I’m using the word “life.” I’d love it if you could keep your afterlife out of this class. (There will be a different opportunity for that.) Making it known why you chose to be a ghost instead of plunge into the unknown would be fantastic, as well. Be mindful of QWC and SPAG!
