Ziggy vs. Polly

You will be allowed a maximum of six posts each, and you may use known spells from HP, or spells of your own creation.

You will not be marked purely on how long your posts are, yet you will be marked on the following;

* Eye for surroundings
* Defensive and offensive spells (both what spells are used and how well they are used)
* Knowledge of spells
* Eye for detail (both your own posts and others posts)
* Inventiveness and creativeness as a whole

Check the main forum for the howlers containing the duelling rules and how to duel guide. Please avoid one sentence posts. Try to develop your duelling posts into more than one paragraph.

Ziggy awoke early that morning, and quickly dressed and walked through the Slytherin Common room. She intended to go to the Great Hall and have a bite to eat before finishing some essays she had due. Bella had walked halfway across the common room before a large notice on the Slytherin notice board caught her eye. Bella headed over and began to read. She quickly gathered it was about the upcoming dueling tornament, which apparently started today. Bella grinned in excitement. She scanned down the list of competitors to find her name. ''Ziggy vs Polly?'' Bella muttered to herself. Bella didnt know much about Polly, except that she was a Ravenclaw. Bella quickly walked to the dueling rooms, hoping that because it was so early she would be the first to enter the room.

Bella threw open the door titled 'Ziggy vs. Polly' and gasped in shock. The whole room was a swamp. A dirty discusting swamp. The room was fairly large, but Bella didnt know (or want to find out) how deep this swamp was so she muttered, ''Conjerours Platfoamus (Floating Platform)''. Bella stepped onto the platform which was roughly a metre by a metre square. The platform floated over the swamp that bubbled threatningly. It was then Bella remembered that although she had not yet spotted her opponent didnt mean she wasnt there. ''Hommulin Revilio (Reveals Human Presence)'', Bella said, relieved when she realised there was no one else there.

Bella decided set up a few traps for her loverly opponent, and pointed her wand just beside the door and said, ''Illoisiun Lanmaiis (Creates the illusion of land)''. When Polly opened the door, a small section just beside it would appear as land. Bella hoped Polly would attempt to walk onto the section of 'land' as seeing as it was just an illusion and couldnt support any weight, she would fall right threw and take a swim in the swamp. Bella then looked at the perimiter of the room. The walls were covered in thin trees and shrubs which didnt look like they could hold any weight. Bella jetted over towards one of the trees and broke of one of the branches. She threw it into the swamp before pointing her wand at it and saying, ''Monstrocious (Turn into Monster)''. The stick transformed into a large, deadly looking sea monster. The sea serpant looked at Bella, and recognised its creator. ''Sea monster?'' Bella spoke to it, ''Soon, someone else is going to come in this room. I want you to attack her, okay?'' The sea monster nodded its head to show it understood before sinking into the swamp, out of view. Bella then turned towards the door and waited for Polly to arrive.

Polly walked cautiouly towards the door opening it she stepped in and wrinkled her nose up and the disgusting smell of the swomp. Scanning her eyes across the room she noticed a piece of land in the middle squinting at it she decided to use it for later stepping into an L stance flicking her wand out of her pocket he noticed a large sea monster yelping she began to fire spells at it from all directions fire, water nothing would work on it. Staring at the monster she knew now where it was coming from.

Running towards the left hand side Polly slid her stance into sitting stance Polly screamed expeliarmus and hoped that the wand had come from Ziggy's hand. Crossing her fingers she pressed herself into a free style stance and fired the spell afrocotomorsis which was a spell to create an illusion to the opposition so they would think that they were on fire and as was the room.

Taking a few steps back Polly felt her breathing start to change after all the running around she had been doing it was taking a toll on her closing her eyes she sent her self into bocso though she knew she was leaving herself venerable and open

L stance: Your back leg bent fully and your front leg put out forward on the same line your feet in the shape of a captial L weight spread 70% on the back leg and 30% ion the front.

Sitting stance: Legs bent as if your crouching weight spread 50-50 on each leg.

Free style stance: Both legs bent almost standing up on the balls of your feet.

Bocso: Sort of meditating where you close your eyes and control your breathing very effective and only takes about 10 seconds to do.

Bella grinned as the door opened and Polly entered. Her sea monster reared its head and Polly attempted to curse it. But, it appeared the sea monster was stronger than Bella had thought as nothing Polly was trying seemed to work. Polly dodged out of the way of the sea monster and sent a spell at Bella.

Bella had been standing there, watching her sea monster attack Polly and was caught of gaurd. Bella cursed loudly as she felt her wand fly out of her hand and into the swamp. Bella hesitated. She did not want to get into that swamp as only god knew what else was in there, but she couldnt duel without a wand. Suddenly, the sea monster flicked its serpant tail, and flicked her wand out of the swamp and back too her. Bella couldnt catch anything to save her life, and promptly dropped her wand, but this time it landed on the platform she had created so Bella grateully bent down and retrieved it.

Bella suddenly felt very hot, soo hot. As she looked around Bella screamed. Polly had set the room on fire! Even she was on fire!!! Bella was soo confused, but did the firt thing she could think of. ''Auguenti (Water)'', Bella yelled and she felt the cool water splace against her clothes and skin. Seconds later the fire was back, but Bella's clothes remained wet, dripping in water. Thats not right, Bella thought when a sudden idea struck her. '' Illousious Dispell (Dispels Illousions)'', Bella said, and all the fire vanished. Bella breathed out, relieved.

She glanced around the room for her opponent and saw her standing a short distance away... with her eyes closed? Now Bella was definately confused. Shrugging, she pointed her wand at Polly as said, ''Bliind (Blind)''. Unless she blocked the spell, Polly would soon open her eyes to find she no longer had vision. Bella then directed her sea monster at Polly, and the monster spat a mouthfull of smelly goop that looked suspiciously swamp-like in Polly's direction before advanceing towards her. ''Try to knock her into the water!'' Bella told the monster.
