The sun shone in through the window. The yellow of the room sparkled in the glorious day. Matthew smiled rolling over in his bed, settling himself again. Loud snores filled the room, until the alarm clock went off. Matthew’s eyes flew open, the sun mad his pupils decrease in size quickly, causing him great pain. He was sitting bolt upright on his bed, rubbing his eyes. The screams had just stopped echoing off the walls now.
Matthew’s alarm clock started shouting at him, ‘Get up you lazy piece of useless wandwork!’ It yelled at him… Matthew cursed under his breath and threw the alarm clock out the window. He had thought about torturing the thing first, but a sudden death would be more… Classy. Matthew jumped out of bed and got dressed, putting on his lucky underwear first. They'd never been washed before and the luck was still hiden within. He pulled on the rest of his clothes, his yellow hufflepuff quidditch robes after that. He smiled braodly at his beautiful relection in the mirror Gorgeous! he thought to himself, smoothing down his hair and sighing at perfection.
Matthew walked down the staircase and out the front doors, he was a little early today and he could have went into the hall to eat. but not after the last match, imagine spending over an hour eating in the ahll without knowing? He flushed still embarrassed by the thought.
Matt walked down the bank to the quidditch pitch and forwned as the rain started pouring down on top of him... So much for the gorgeous perfection... he sighed. He walked inot the changing rooms and grabbed his broom and hopped on it before he'd even left the room, zooming out of the double doors that lead to the pitch.
In the short time that it had taken him to get his broom the rain had stopped, but alas the sun wasn't back out again. Clouds hung over the pitch, making the whole place look depressing and gloomy. He sighed but flew on into the air, noticing that he was the only new commer, no one else there. Good Matthew thought, I have time to warm up.

Kate awoke with a start. She had been pleasantly dreaming of a long green meadow, long grass up to her knees, and singing "God Must Hate Me", when she was rudely awoken by her alarm clock. "I would appreciate it if you didn't do that" She had said with her eyes shut still. The clock was awaking her by shaking her gently. "Please!" She said. As she had rolled over again, the clock started rocking her even more form, side to side until it knocked her out of bed completely.
"OK OK I'm up!" She growled. Picking herself up off the floor, Kate could swear that she heard a faint chuckle emitting from the clock. Giving the clock an evil glare, she grabbed her stuff up and shoved on her Quidditch robes.
"Oh well." Kate sighed. "At least there is a good reason for waking so early." Glancing at her clock, Kate took a double take. It was 12 O'Clock! She was late!
Legging it down the dorm stairs, Kate noticed the weather was swapping and changing between rain, sun and clouds. Shrugging of her fear of being told off for being late, Kate ran out of the common room, down the grand staircase and stopping only to grab some toast in the great hall, out into the grounds and to the Quidditch pitch.
Whne Kate arrived at the changing rooms, she looked around. Something was missing. "BROOMY!" She cried. Her faithful broom was still in the dorm. Pulling out her wand, Kate summoned her broom which came flying in to meet her. "Phew!" She sighed. "At least it wasnt my wand too!"
Next, Kate ran out onto the pitch, awaiting a good telling off, only to see that only Matthew was out on the pitch. Great. She thought. Just perfect.
Kate looked around. Then, with out another glance back, she jumped onto broomy and flew over to meet Matthew. "Bit quiet isn't it?" She asked him with a grin.

"I'm on a highway to the Veil, Highway to the Veil, Highway to the Veil...."
Gemma shot up, once more hitting her head on a bedpost because of having slept in the weirdest possible position on her huge bed. The canopy blazed with red letters, and she never even had the chance to send an Unforgiveable at her screaming alarm clock magically twisting Muggle songs. Instead, she concentrated on the words and squeezed her eyes half-shut. Yeah, so maybe she should start wearing her hideous glasses, but so what? With the size of that font, there was hardly a problem deciphering the whole as
"QUIDDITCH MATCH - URGENT YOU DOLT!"
She doubled over while bouncing out of the bed, noticing that while the sky looked grey it definitely also looked like far into the day. Blooody hell!, she thought, more than willing to hit her head against the walls or iron her ears a bit. Then again, she was a pureblood and not some filthy house-elf, wasn't she? Glaring at the walls, she stomped over towards her closet and slipped into some random clothes, not quite ready to chuckle at the irony of having grabbed black trousers and one of her canary yellow hoodies. Gemma just stuffed some sweets into its pockets, plucked her wand from its wooden stand on the bedside table, and left swiftly.
You utter moron, how could you of all people forget about a match? Huh? You didn't forget? Well, that doesn't make any difference, does it? No matter how exhausted you were all week and regardless of the fact that you spent ridiculously many hours sleeping wherever you went - you could either have contacted Pomfrey or prepared yourself enough for the damn match. What were you thinking?
While scolding herself she had almost reached the pitch, long strides shortening the way somewhat, and then she was inside the locker room. Everything looked suspiciously unused, and she bit back the urge to scream. Nobody was there. You didn't even leave a notice at the board, goddamnit, why where they supposed to be here my dear? She groaned in furstration, not willing to acknowledge the truth in the voice's words. She simply clad herself in the uniform - This has seen better day as well, hasn't it? Maybe try and get a sponsor finally, you might want better standards for this team.... - and put googles ontop her head, having seen the rainclouds scattared all over the gloomy sky.
When she finally was ready to enter the pitch, she reached for her broom, and in a sudden impulse decided it needed a name. Broom just wasn't appropriate for this hellish monster that cooperated only on days it felt like doing so. Asmodin, she heard the voice whisper and chuckled at it. At times it could almost be bearable in her head!
"Alright, Asmodin it shall be. So let's get this over and done with, my dear devil. I'm sure we will be outnumbered severly - be prepared for rash manoeuvres and nasty play."
The moment she set foot on the grass and let the door to the room fall shut behind her, she began searching the grey and spotted two enemies. A little relieved sigh escaped her lips, having imagined worse to await her, and within the second she mounted her newly named demon broom. Hand stretched out for the already released Quaffle, Gemma couldn't help but grin. Se did have to overcome a Keeper, true, but at least she was facing a Chaser that let the precious ball hover unguarded - this might even become an easy match.
Who are you trying to fool, my dear? There, yes, wave a little greeting at the two, make them believe you are a friendly newcomer just out for some fun. You know, maybe you should make yourself beater at some point. A little bloodshedding shouldn't hurt, right? But whatever, I know you don't want to hear this. But believe me, I'll only spare you until this match is over. Now why don't you get right to starting at the girl and those hoops?
For a moment Gemma was torn between rolling her eyes or grinning at the malicious yet somehow sweet words, and she ended up doing both - simultaneously, of course. Who cared if she looked like a madwoman? Maybe the Keeper badger would even be scared off, that would mean nice and fair advantage...She decided to add more to this and chuckled, quietly first but getting louder as she was approaching the other girl, straight on, attempting to confuse her with a good strategy - no strategy!
While she contemplated whether Haphazard Snake Slyness had been invented as a move beforehand as it consisted mainly of psychological planning and effects rather than flying manoeuvres, she listened to herself sounding like she had just escaped from a psych ward - and hey, in a way she had, hadn't she? - and added some mad rambling to the show for the sake of effect.
"Oooh, little badger girl. Yummy, tasty little badger girl....I wonder whether Quaffles make good side dishes, wonder I do. Just need to get there, now, just need to throw the ball and have her feel safe. Just let her think I'm in or points and fun, just let her..."
With an eerily hungry sneer adorning her lips, she shot forward faster and faster, her utterings growing louder and more urgent, and before long she had crossed half the pitch already. The Huffie should definitely hear her now, and she just kept talking and grinning and laughing, clutching tightly to the red shiny baby under her left arm. The broom seemed to adore her approach, too, for it had a nice and good day, flying without the slightest sidetracking and bringing her to the current destination all well-behaved. Now all she could hope for was some fellow Beater to join her and help the quest...

Rose was up early, preparing for the game. She wasn't able to get to sleep last night after watching a spooky muggle movie with her cat, so she stayed up listing to her favorite Japanese bands. Surprisingly, she wasn't tired. Just excited for the coming up match. Rose pulled her hair up and coated her face in her usual gothic makeup. She painted her nails, singing along to I Scream Party by SuG.
Only one hour left.
Rose kissed her cat goodbye and skipped down the stares, smiling at everyone she passed. A few Slytherins glared at her, they themselves making there way to the match. She made her way to the Hufflepuff locker room. Slipping her Quidditch robes on, Rose noticed that her beloved broom was not in it's rightful place. She frowned. “Oh were oh were could my little broom be?”
She looked all around, getting more worried as time ticked by. Then, Rai came out on the field and released the balls. Cursing to herself, Rose snatched a spare, making a mental note to look for her Alma later. She went out onto the pitch, then, embarrassed, remembered she was a Beater and ran back to get her bat. She reemerged, blushing and waved to the cheering crowd. Rose saw Matthew and Kate, and also Gemma. She couldn't tell who had what though. “Skie, Skie, get her soon! The Snitch is calling for you!”
Rose swung her leg over the broom, only to pick about a foot off the ground and turn over. She felt with an 'oooof' and rubbed her tail bone. She tried again, being a little more careful with the new broom.
Taking a few practice laps, Rose decided that since there was only one Slytherin so far, she would go ahead and try to take her out. The Huffie girl flew over to the nearest spazzing bludger and gave it a good, hard wack right towards the front of Gemma's broom. This way, she would hopefully not get hurt, but it would take her some time to catch her breath back and grabbed a new broom.

| (Hufflepuff Keeper) Looking around the pitch, Kate saw that 2 more people had arrived. Rose and some snake whom she did not know. Tuning back into the match, Kate flew over to the goalposts and saw the snake grab the quaffle and start to head in Kates direction. At first Kate was asounded by her blatent talking whilst coming towards her, then realised that it was a tactic - not having a move, rather than noob-ness. A few seconds later, Kate saw that Rose was infact sending a bludger in the snakes direction. Great. Kate thought. Well done Skie! So, sensing that the snake was going to try to score - however tactless and regardless of bludger or no bludger - Kate decided to preform the loop-da-loop. In the loop-da-loop, Kate had to do just that, only it was more loop-da hoop. So, mentaly re-naming it, Kate decided to loop-da-hoops. "Try to get past me now, punk." Kate said, under breath, smiling. | |
