100m RELAY - SLYTHERIN TEAM 1


Welcome to the 100m relay event. Please read the instructions carefully

Those who signed up have been put into teams of 4 in order of signing up. Some members of some houses signed up though can not participate. If those members can gather a team of housemates to make 4 of them, and they sign up (and this works for other relay too) then you may enter the race late. If this happens, please let me know in the relevant thread which will be put up here in the event forum after all relay threads have been opened.

INSTRUCTIONS

Each member on the team must complete the following in order of where name falls in team list (this was the order of sign up)
for example: person 1 posts graphics, then 2, then 3, then 4 and then move onto next in same order!
NOTE: You may NOT break the order. The relay is all about team work. If one person has not submitted their turn, the next person can not continue until they have done so

Each member must submit the following in the order as given below, remembering instructions above.

1. 100 word drabble using the prompt word 'MERLIN' as the opening word and closing word.

2. 450x150 graphics banner using the prompt word 'MERLINS BEARD'

3. Follow the link below and colour the snail online. Print screen and upload here

4. Write a short 200-300 word gold medal acceptance speech


When all four members of this team have finished all four parts, the last person needs to double post and in capitals write 'FINISHED and the date and time in GMT)



1st, 2nd and 3rd bonus for race will go to the posting order of scores.
Points Possible can be found within the points post.
Story will be judged by judges in two different ways.

“Merlin, what am I going to do!?!” Ronald Weasley was pacing the floor of his bedroom. His wedding was going to be starting in an hour, and he couldn’t find his bow tie! It wouldn’t be such a bad thing if it hadn’t been the one his father had worn, and his grandfather before him. And it was going to be a surprise for his family!
“Dang it” He kicked his dresser, and just then, George apparated feet in front of him.
“Looking for this?” He held Ron’s bow tie in front of his face. Ron grabbed it, and mumbled “Merlin”

“Merlin, Potter,” Scorpius Malfoy cursed the Slytherin. “Can’t you do anything right?”

“I am a pretty good quidditch player,” Albus grinned.

Scorpius glared and replied, “That’s not going to help you pass potions now is it?”

“Probably not, but it will give me many adoring fans,” he smirked.

“Not if I kill you first,” the blonde grumbled.

“You know you wouldn’t kill me, Scorp.”

“And why not?”

“Because I am the only person who can make you your favorite truffles,” Al grinned as he leaned on table, thus knocking over the cauldron.

Scorp nearly cried then as he muttered, “Merlin.”

“Merlin-no! Michael-no! URGH!” Lily screamed. Why couldn’t she guess who the wizard was? She had studied over and over and over and she should know this by now. Something was the great wizard of Oz, better known as something. Why the hell did it take so long for her to remember who it was. She looked up at her teacher and sighed.

“I’m sorry sir, I don’t know.” She mumbled, going red. Everyone laughed at her as thought she missed the joke. The teacher laughed and what he said made her dumbfounded.

“For the record, Miss. Potter, it was Merlin.”

I have come here tonight to fight a battle. This battle is one not only for glory for my house, but to make me proud of myself. This battle was long and hard, and was something I could see coming from a long time ago. The competition was one I knew I must train hard for. I wanted to be ready when my time to be here finally rolled around. This became an obsession for me; my training schedule was soon running my life. I missed dances, and football games, and even a few dates with my boyfriend had to be canceled, and tonight, I am proud to say, it all became clear why I did that. Why I pushed aside my social life for my training.
My coach used to tell me that the most important thing was not that I had too many friends to count on my fingers and toes, but that I had great friends. In my classes, that is what I got. I got three of my best friends ever, and a great coach who pushed me untill I cried some nights. He always told me that it would be worth it someday. And it is.
I cannot tell you how honored I am to be standing here speaking to all of you. Though this has always been my dream, it still doesn’t feel real to be standing here, giving this speech. I have won the battle that I have fought for so long, fought against my dedication, my stamina, and most importantly, my other competitors. I thank everyone involved tonight, and I would just like to say that I love all my fans!
Thanks for the gold, guys! See you in four years!

I didn’t come here thinking I’d win anything. I just wanted to do something I enjoyed with some friendly competition added in…and of course show people that Slytherin can put up a good fight. But I did win and I am truly ecstatic about it. I made my house proud and for that I myself am proud. I won’t say it was an easy win, because it wasn’t. All the other houses did great, as did others in my house, thus why I am slightly surprised I got the gold. I am honored to be able to have just taken part in this grand event and even more honored to be one of the people going home a winner. I honestly can not wait to see the look on my father’s face when he sees this medal, this medal which not only represents my luck of winning, but also the fact that I had participated in something great that I will get to tell future generations in my family about.

And I know I could not of one this without the help of my coach, Kaylee, whom kept pushing me to do my best. Or Gemma, who was always supportive and would give me a reassuring word. Or my family who was always there to tell me I’d do great. And of course, I could never forget my head of house Rai whom threatened to hex me if I made Slytherin look bad. It did add stress on my part, but luckily for me I work best under stress.

And if I had any fans, which I doubt, thank you all for believing in me. I am glad to have one this without having to pull out any of my “accidentally” poisoned cookies that many house mate, long before this competition, were subjected to.

Yes, I won and you didn’t! How does it feel to lose again! Ok, time to be nice. Thanks for ‘trying’ to win and letting me win. Being able to know that I was the best to win this makes me feel…evil like. Haha! You still wish you were up here looking happy, but don’t worry. That day will come one day…or three years from now. This means a lot to me because I, once and for all, know now that I was better at this then you were. You may think I’m being mean but I’m not! I’m bragging, bragging I tell you! All of you know you would do this to, so ha in your face! But really, thank you guys for this! I love gold…it’s a pretty color. But it’s a shame others tried this hard for it to. I hope one day you can get one to. Maybe for….something creative? I don’t know, but if you try, try hard! Well, to end this all. I’m happy I won, and you’re jealous. Life if life. I won, you didn’t. But if you try, you may get this gold one day. But it won’t be as cool as mine! So, to end this boasting speech, good luck later in the this thingy!
