100m RELAY - RAVENCLAW TEAM 1

Welcome to the 100m relay event. Please read the instructions carefully

Those
who signed up have been put into teams of 4 in order of signing up.
Some members of some houses signed up though can not participate. If
those members can gather a team of housemates to make 4 of them, and
they sign up (and this works for other relay too) then you may enter
the race late. If this happens, please let me know in the relevant
thread which will be put up here in the event forum after all relay
threads have been opened.

INSTRUCTIONS

Each member on the team must complete the following in order of where name falls in team list (this was the order of sign up)
for example: person 1 posts graphics, then 2, then 3, then 4 and then move onto next in same order!
NOTE:
You may NOT break the order. The relay is all about team work. If one
person has not submitted their turn, the next person can not continue
until they have done so

Each member must submit the following in the order as given below, remembering instructions above.

1. 100 word drabble using the prompt word 'MERLIN' as the opening word and closing word.

2. 450x150 graphics banner using the prompt word 'MERLINS BEARD'

3. Follow the link below and colour the snail online. Print screen and upload here

4. Write a short 200-300 word gold medal acceptance speech

When
all four members of this team have finished all four parts, the last
person needs to double post and in capitals write 'FINISHED and the
date and time in GMT)

1st, 2nd and 3rd bonus for race will go to the posting order of scores.
Points Possible can be found within the points post.
Story will be judged by judges in two different ways.

Please note: Scores are now much higher than originally planned!

“Merlin, Merlin Bond.”

“Seiously?”

“Yeah, my parents,” the boy rolled his eyes, shrugging, “It was the eighties, what are you going to do?”

The girl giggled, but her laugh became a scream as another zombie crashed through the window of Zuma High.

Merlin shoved her out of the way with a apology, swinging his Trapper Keeper and taking the zombies head off in one clean sweep. It bounced.

“Cool! I’m Gwen. Thanks for saving my life, Merlin.”

Merlin helped her to her feet.

“How are you feeling?” he asked, thinking the cheerleader looked too pale.

“Shaken and stirred, Sir Merlin.”

“Merlin’s teapot!”

“Hugo!”

“What?” The little redhead stuck up his chin stubbornly to meet his mother’s gaze. “You don’t yell at Daddy when he does it!”

Hermione pulled him into her lap. “I’ll remind Daddy not to do that, okay?”

As he was squirming to get back to his play, Hermione set Hugo down and got up. She stepped on a Whomping Willow action-tree and shrieked in pain, hopping on one foot.

“Merlin’s - ”

“Teaching Hugo such language?” asked Ron, suddenly appearing.

That earned her grinning husband a whack on the head. Before he could stop, he shouted, “MERLIN!”

“Merlin’s beard” I shouted.

“I know that man just ate a snake” my friend said as we watched the man eat a snake. He was now trying to sallow it but I wasn’t looking at the man.

“That’s not what I’m looking at” I exclaimed raising my hand. At this time the man was now trying to cough up the snake. Once the snake was up he held it up for all to see. “Look over there, it’s Merlin and look at his awesome beard” I said.

“There’s something wrong with you” my friend replied looking at the beard of Merlin.

‘Merlin!’ I cried as I stubbed by toe on the door then laughed out loud at the common phrase used by everyone.

‘What you Merlinin at?’ asked Trey Prescott one of Ravenclaw’s elite boys.

Dismissively I replied ‘Stubbed my toe.’

Feeling Trey’s hand on my shoulder sent warm shivers through my body ‘You coming to breakfast now then’

Walking towards the great hall with Trey at my side made me a fierce rush of pride. To be seen with someone so well thought of would make me seem somewhat great as well.

Sitting down I stubbed my toe on the table and cried 'MERLIN'.

Wow, I hardly know what to say! Except... Except that I have been dreaming of this moment for all my life, or at least since this event began. As in all challenges through out the HE site, what motivated me most was the desire to beat Raistlin The Wizard. I know it's shocking, but it's completely, almost true. Yes, I love points, and the gold medal is a lot of house points. Let me give a shout out to my Ravenclaws. Ra-Ra-Ravenclaws!! But mostly what I try to do is beat the head Slytherin. He is my white rabbit, the person with the target on his back, the one who inspires me to beat him. So, thank you, Raisty, I couldn't have won this without you!

Also I want to of course thank my sweet hubby, who only looks at me a little strange when I try to explain to him that I'm competing in an online Olympic event by playing yeti sports, and also because if I forget to thank him then I'm no better than Hilary Swank. Only I am, because I have a gold medal, and she doesn't. Take that, Hilary Swank!

Also many countless thanks to Elfie and Amy and everyone that helps run this site, hangs out on this site, or has ever heard of this site. You rock!

Last, but never least, a huge thank you to Elana, Stephy and Polly for letting me make all my posts in this event! I literally couldn't have done it without you awesome girls, and I am so grateful you are on my team! Now, go finish your posts and I'll see you and the podium when we're collecting some more gold medals!!

Oh. My. Goodness.

I honestly didn’t think this was happening when they called my name, but standing up here with my teammates at my side, seeing our opponents – or, as we’ve called you, our motivators - all gathered to hear us, feeling the weight of this medal hanging from my neck – it’s a lot heavier than it looks on TV, I can tell you that – it finally feels real. There were times when I didn’t think we’d pull through and end up here, on top. Times like when Parental Control – er – temporarily blocked me from games, or when I never thought I’d be able to finish that one last chapter, or when time and time again I didn’t get that gold.

But no matter what trials we faced individually, together we were able to achieve these treasured gold medals. And, gosh darnit, it was well worth it, because here we are! Olympic champions!

I couldn’t have done it without these outstanding Ravenclaws with me, but also everyone else here. Like I said before, you were the driving force behind us, pushing us to do our best to beat you. And sometimes we did, and sometimes we didn’t, but we had fun no matter what the outcome. So this is not only a celebration for us, it’s a celebration for you! Everyone here has done amazing work in these Hogwarts Olympics, so kudos to everybody!

I’m so glad to have been able to help out my dear Ravies even though I hadn’t done much before. If it wasn’t for Rigby to help keep me on task I don’t believe I would have been able to make all of those posts that I did. So I must thank you Rigby for constantly reminding me otherwise I’d be completely lost. Also I would like to thank Elana and Polly, two great Ravies, who deserve this metal more than I do. They have worked hard and gotten us Ravies far. I’m so proud of you all.

I must also thank my dear Ipod. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t of have been inspired to make my banner and write that drabble as well as I did. Listening to the set playlist you had of my favorite songs has helped me come up with the best graphic that I could ever make and the best drabble that I have ever written. Thank you so much for my inspiration. Even now you are playing Slipknot and it is helping me to come up with this acceptance speech. Also I would like to thank everyone else on this site because if it weren’t for you than I wouldn’t of have been a member for as long as I have been. Thank you all.

It truly is an honour to be given such a beautiful and majestic award. Something that unless you work your utter hardest to achieve and actually achieve that goal is not really understandable to the usual mind. Hard work and dedication is about the understatement of the century. Perhaps blood, guts and gore would be a lot more fitting? It truly is a life’s achievement to receive this but to receive this on my own would not be the same. I have to thank three truly wonderful girls can I have a big round of applause for Stephums, Rigby and Elana!

Without these three amazing girls I don’t think I could have achieved it. We’ve had ups and downs, illnesses and injuries but we came through and no matter what were all winners!.

Okay now I’ve done the cool bit its time for the corny bit. *Pulls out a long piece of paper*. I would like to thank My mum, my dad, my boyfriend george, my gran, my cousin, my cousin, my cousin, my cousin, my cousin, my cousin, my aunty, my aunty, my aunty, my uncle, my uncle, my uncle, Jess, Peter, Lewis, Andy, Matthew, Moz, Mike, Tom, Phile, Daniel, Aaron, Emily, Gemma, Liam, Liam, Emma, Emily, Sophie, Jasmin, Tasmin, Chloe, Sally, Robert, Matt and the lady at the corner shop.
