The Forest

Clafin woke up in a cold sweat. She'd had the dream again. She couldn't close her eyes without seeing their faces in front of her anymore. She knew she wouldn't be able to go back to sleep, so she pulled back the curtains on her bed and sat up. She walked to her dresser and opened the bottom drawer. She'd loaded it with complete outfits for her late night walks. She seemed to be having more and more of them all the time. She pulled on a pair of black skinny jeans and a hooded sweatshirt she'd gotten for her birthday. She walked back to her bed and pulled her chucks from underneath to put them on. She rushed out of the dorm down to the common room. Nobody would be awake at this hour. They leave that for the crazies. she thought to herself. She headed down the grand staircase to the castle doors. Once she was outside she pulled the hood on to block the rain from her face. In the distance an owl hooted. Clafin began singing a poem she'd heard when she was a child. She started walking, she didnt know where to. She just had to walk. Before she knew it, she found herself in the depths of the forest.

Bliss had verry sensitive ears and was woken up by the easiest things most people couldnt hear. Lately a high pitched frequency had been driveing her crazy, even during the day. She couldnt figure out what it was from. maybe it ahd been a spell put on her but she didnt have time to investigate. All she knew was that when she was in the forest, when she was with nature things like that didnt bug her as much.
I cant go out to the forest now its to late and all the crazy people are out at this time she told herself. She still couldnt help the overwhelming feeling to be with nature though. after time passed she gave in. Slipping on a pair of old sweats and a tee shirt hse snuck out of the hufflepuff dormitories and coman rooms. She slid down the grand stair case and out the door with hardly makeing a sound. She wondered into the forrest and sat down on a rock.
"what am i doning here?" she asked herself.

Clafin wondered through the forest looking for a clearing. After a while, she decided to give up her little quest and head back inside. She started walking back the way she thought she'd come. After about ten minutes of this, she realized that she was only weaving her way further into the dark forgotten forest. There was a crackle of leaves behind her. Clafin jumped out of surprise. Calm down you loser. It was probably just a deer she thought to herself mockingly. Honestly, not much could hurt you.. She continued walking. The cold air froze her skin as a breeze blew past. It was something she was already used to though, being cold. She hadnt felt warm..or whole for months now.

Clafin heard another rustle behind her, followed by a whisper. "Dang it!" she said it louder than she had planned. Her words came out in a scream. She whipped her wand out of her robes. "LUMOS!" she yelled again. It was no use trying to hide herself. If a death-eater was out here trying to find her, she'd already given herself away. Clafin slowly walked towards where the noise had come from. "Who's there?" she asked loudly. Her voice shook from fear. She tried to cover it up, but did a poor job at it. "I said who's there?" she repeated herself in a demanding voice. Great. This is perfect. You cant sleep, so what do you decide to do? Go out in the forest in the middle of the night! Your a complete and total moron sometimes Clafin she thought to herself angrily. She quickened her pace a bit and waited for a response.

Clafin giggled as she listened to a girl scurry through her words to make a fake name. Alright. Well at least I know its not a Death-Eater she thought to herself in relief. She walked forward until the girl was in the light of her wand. "Why hello there Bella...Loveanfern was it? That's a rather interesting name." Clafin said through a smile. She wasn't about to accuse the girl of lying, but she was going to get her real name out of her. Clafin scurried over to the girl and stuck out her hand. "Im Clafin. Clafin Potter." she said through a grin as she introduced herself.

Clafin looked at her in confusion. The girl was obviously trying to get away, she just wasn't sure why. She didn't particularly feel like playing games at the moment. Her nightmare had spiraled her mood downward. "So, would you like to tell me your real name? Or would you like to keep pretending that your off to somewhere?" she said it as politely as possible. Clafin smiled at the girl as she shook her hand. She said nothing more, but turned and leaned against a tree. Clafin returned her gaze towards the girl and raised an eyebrow.

Bliss took a deep breath of air.
"My name is Bliss Lovel I am muggle born and am in hufflepuff at hogwarts" she said sitting back down.
Man you are no good at lying and why did you tell this random person so much all she wanted was your name why didnt you just say i am Bliss Lovel instead of all that other junk now if she didnt already want to kill you she does now she knows your muggle born brilliant she thought to her self shakeing her head.

Clafin listened as Bliss blurted out random information about herself. She lowered her head and looked to the ground. She hated it when people outbursted. It embarrassed her. She never got embarrassed by things she did herself, never. It was only when others did or said something. She waited for the color in her cheeks to die down before she looked up. "Well, nice to meet you Bliss. I'm err not muggle born and I'm in Gryffindor." Clafin said as she tried to hide her embarrassment. She looked at the girl as she sat down. "Your not a Death-Eater, or a Vampire are you?" Clafin asked steadily, pacing her voice.

"Oh thank goodness!" Clafin sighed in relief. "I was worried, with being out here alone this late and all. I thought someone bad was following me. No, Im not. My uncle would kill me." she added on quickly. "Oh, I know what you mean about full moons. My boyfriend is a werewolf. He's harmless when he takes his potion, but its still a bit frightening at times." she blurted out. Her cheeks began to burn with embarrassment. This always happened when she talked about Luke. "So, errr." she began. She wasn't sure of what to say next.

Bliss nodded. The girls voice was painful to listen to it stung her ears. She was still verry curiouse why all of a sudden these things were happening to her.
"Why are you out here?" she asked forcefully but still just curiouse. She looked aroun to see if she could find a stick just incase someone dangerouse did some she would atleast look like she had more of a chance.
Gotta find a twig wait why is she out hear what if she is lyeing what is she is one and now that i know things and she knows things she will kill me. gosh just relaxe your such a spazz chill. she told herself.

Clafin thought for a moment on how to answer. She could either sugar coat it our tell the flat-out truth. "I had a nightmare about the day my parents were taken from me." she said as confidently as possible. The pain seeped through her words and stung her heart. She reached up and squeezed her locket as tightly as she could. Her nails were digging through her palm, but she didn't care anymore. It was nothing compared to the pain inside. The whole time she was talking, she didn't take her eyes off of Bliss'. The girl seemed distant, and somewhat annoyed. "Are you alright?" Clafin asked calmly.

Bliss winced slightly.
"what ya i'm fine just... its really dark out and i never have been out during night its diffrent." she stated.
Lies there all lies you loser she told herself biteing her lip probibly causeing it to bleed but she didnt notice.
"i am so sorry to hear that its horribal." she told Clafin sympathetic for her loss.
"do you have this nightmare often ?" she asked curiouse.
"and do you always come out here when you do?" she asked slightly confused.

"How is it different?" Clafin asked as her voice grew louder. She tried to read her body language. Bliss was obviously lying, but Clafin didn't want to call her out on it. Clafin waited a moment before she answered the other questions. She wasn't totally sure if she could. She hadn't talked to Thomas or even Luke about this before. It was odd that she could find herself saying everything to this girl that she didnt even know. "It's fine. I'll get back at them some day...the Death-Eaters that is." she said sounding confident and sure. "And yes, I have it almost every night. I barely ever sleep anymore. I don't usually come out to the forest though. I was on my way to the lake, but I got a bit distracted." Clafin said honestly.

'Louder? I can understand that. When I'm alone, my thoughts are the only thing I hear. Most of the time I hear them to clearly." she said as her voice began to grow weak. "But what is it that you mean, by the truth?" she asked curiously as she raised an eyebrow. Once again, she thought about the question maybe a bit to in depth. How would she know about that? Does she know something that I don't? It would be nice to learn something...anything about where my parents could be she thought to herself. "Erm. I'm not quite sure what you mean. Could you explain please?" Clafin asked even though it was unneeded.

Clafin couldn't help but to giggle at Bliss' response. "I think I understand what your getting at." she offered quickly. She wasn't trying to come of as rude at all. Clafin loved meeting new people. There was a...thrill about it. That was the best she could describe. "And I don't think you sound crazy at all. If that is even a recollection. I mean people say I'm a bit wierd, but never crazy. By my saying that though, it probably makes me seem crazy now doesn't it?" Clafin said aloud through a giggle. She was making a complete fool of herself, and she didnt even care. Clafin quieted herself down. "Would you care to explain any of these 'answers, solutions, and ideas' with me?" Clafin asked truly interested.

Clafin was genuinely confused by Bliss. One second she's going on and on about everything she can talk about, and the next she's jumpy and wanting desperately to leave. She wasn't quite sure of what to say, and she wasn't all that good at saying goodbyes. So, Clafin pulled herself away from the tree and nodded towards Bliss. "Nox." she whispered quietly as the light from her wand disappeared. Clafin turned and walked back into the darkness of the forest. She still wasn't sure where she was heading towards. She hoped that it was at least in the same direction as the castle, but she doubted it was.

Clafin heard Bliss fall, but figured she'd rather be left alone. That girl was probably the weirdest person Clafin had ever met, besides the Lovegood family that is. Luna was always good when you needed a laugh. She turned and walked back towards Bliss. She wasn't going to talk, or even let her see that she'd followed her. She just wanted to make sure she was alright. The woods could be pretty dangerous after all. Clafin waited and listened as Bliss pulled herself up from the ground. Well, at least she is alright. Clafin thought. She let herself slide down the trunk of a nearby tree.

Bliss ripped a branch off of the tree she was useing to pull herslef up. she looked around there was nothing in the forrest she could use as a bandage to rapp up her leg with.
"lovely." she stated leaning on the branch. She ripped off a sleve of her sweater and tied the branch to her leg as a splint.
"That should hold till i can get bcak to the dormitories" she said thinking she was alone.
well there is no use keeping a ripped sweater she thought pulling it off and throwing it on the ground. she covered it in mud trying to hide her scent from any animals out there.

Why do I keep having these dreams? Clafin asked herself mentally as she pulled out her wand. "Wingardium Leviosa" she whispered as she watched the spells effect on a small leave that had landed on her lap. Clafin stayed silent and listened to Bliss. She couldn't help but giggle when she began talking to herself. Wow. All the crazies are out at night. she thought to herself. A wide grin spread across her face. Nothing was really that funny, but she felt a bit relieved from the darkness of her dream. She hoped that bliss hadn't heard her giggle.

"Er. Well yes." Clafin admitted quietly. "I..I heard you fall, so I just wanted to make sure you were alright." she added on quickly, in hopes of not sounding dumb. She hopped up from where she sat and leaned against the tree. "Hope I didn't startle you" Clafin's word came out smooth and calm. She surprised herself with how she sounded. She jumped a little bit, hoping that Bliss hadn't noticed and relaxed back against the tree. "Sorry." she offered politely as her voice grew to that of a normal person. "Er..I'll just-" she cut herself off.

"Oh! Well then, I apologize for startling you...somewhat?" Clafin said through a grin.
As Bliss spoke her last sentence, Clafin looked down at her leg. It was wrapped up in a sweater sleeve using a branch as a splint. "Oh, er I could heal that for you if you'd like?" she offered. Without waiting for a response, Clafin pulled out her wand. She walked up to Bliss in a few short strides and unwrapped her leg. She put the tip of her wand on her leg. "Episky." she stated clearly. She hoped that it worked, but wasn't nearly confident enough to look at the results. "How's that?" she asked hopefully.

Clafin squeezed her eyes shut and moved her head so she could see Bliss' leg when she opened them. She didn't want to look, just in case it had gone horribly wrong, but she had no choice. She peeked her left eye open and looked down. Her leg looked fine. She lifted up her wand and there was a small star shaped scar where its tip had been. Clafin smiled widely and looked up at Bliss. She'd grown very tense, and her temperature was scorching. "Er. Your leg is fine. But are you alright? You seem to have a fever..." Clafin asked worriedly.

"a fever really?" Bliss felt her head.
"to me it seems like i have a low tempature." she told her.
"thats not a good thing is it?" she asked no knowing much about basics she had been
spoiled and told these things for a long time. Bliss griped the bark of the tree. her free
hand clenching cutting the inside of her palms.

Clafin looked at Bliss as she tensed up. If she squeezed her hand any tighter, blood was sure to come out. That wouldn't be a good thing...especially if there were vampires out. Which, wouldn't be a rare thing at this time of night. "You really should try and calm yourself down." Clafin said soothingly as she nodded towards Bliss' hand. "Vampires can smell from far away you know..." she added on swiftly. Clafin looked at her and waited for her to calm down. After a while she changed the subject. "As for the fever, you should probably go see Poppy in the hospital wing. I'll help you get there if you'd like" Clafin offered politely.

Bliss looked down at her hand and shook it out.
"sorry." she said looking at the deep dents from her nails.
"and as for the hospital wing there is no way i am setting a toe in any form of hospital ever again." she stated sternly putting more force on the tree.
"sorry>" she said said not sure what else to say.
"i just dont like hospitals." she explained biteing her tounge.

Clafin watched as Bliss shook her hand. Bliss got suddenly very aggravated. "Erm. Sorry for mentioning Poppy?" Clafin said slowly but still loud. "Why is it that you don't like hospitals?" she asked in a calming voice. She didn't understand why the girl hadn't gotten so angry. Clafin continued to lean on the tree trunk as something flashed in front of her. She didn't jump or flinch at all. Instead she just closed her eyes. "Will you stop that Thomas?!" Clafin said angrily.

There was one more flash of movement before a tall and lean boy walked up behind Bliss. He sniffed the air and crinkled his nose in disgust. He walked past the girl and went up to Clafin. He turned and continued to look at Bliss but said nothing.

Clafin looked at Bliss as the girl fought back tears. She couldn't help but to feel bad for asking. She didn't know what to say. She pushed past Thomas and walked towards Bliss. She put her hand on her shoulder and pulled the girl into a hug. It was a bit awkward though, because Clafin was only five feet tall. She was instantly surprised at the warmth of the girls skin.

Thomas leaned back against the tree Clafin had just rested upon. He rolled his eyes as she embraced the other girl whom he didn't know. She could be really annoying sometimes. "I'm Thomas." he said coldly as he pointed his thumb to his chest. "The answer to your other question would be yes." he added on with a bitter tone. "From the smell of this place, I'd say your a Werewolf. Not to point any fingers or anything of course."

Clafin was in shock as Bliss fell to the floor. She could tell that the girl was scared, but she wasn't sure why. "Are you alright?" she asked, totally oblivious to the fact that Bliss was scared out of her mind. She walked over to the girl. "Your getting dirt all over my clothes. Will you stop trashing about everywhere?" she demanded of Bliss. She leaned down and stuck her hand out in offer to help her up.

Thomas laughed loudly. He was surprised by how dark his own laughter had turned. "Don't you see Clafin? She doesn't like Vampires." he said coldly. "Although, I think she may be to quick to judge. Quite stereotypical I'd say." he added on trying to a bit friendlier. He walked forward and bent down so that his lips were right next to the girls ear. "I don't kill people" he whispered it so softly that he doubted even this Werewolf could hear. He pulled his head back to reveal a look of disgust that had darkened his face. "You really do smell horrible." he added through a perfect grin.

Clafin was appalled by Thomas' behavior. He hadn't been rude to anybody beside her in months. Lately he seemed to take everything out on her, even when it wasn't her fault. She hit him on the back and instantly regretted it. Her hand seered with pain. She'd forgotten that Vampires were as hard as rock. She quickly put her hand into her pocket in effort to try and hide the proof of the reason for her embarrassment. She could feel the blood rising in her cheek, but ignored it. "Thomas stop being so rude!" Clafin demanded of the tall boy.

Thomas said nothing to Clafin as he tried to ignore her. "Aww. Come on. I'm not that bad." he said as warmly as he could. "I really don't kill people...or Werewolves for that matter." he added on trying to help his case. He looked over at Clafin, but was denied the support he was looking for.

Clafin giggled loudly as she listened to Bliss scold Thomas. He'd only been a vampire for a few years. She was absolutely amazed when he began to pout. She couldn't help but laugh even more. When she realized that he was glaring at her, Clafin tried to stifle her laughter. "S..so...sorr...orry" she managed to get out through shakes.

Thomas said nothing but continued to glare at her. He turned his attention back towards Bliss and stuck out his right hand. "I'm Thomas Edward Weasley." he stated confidently. He waited for the girl to return the introduction and glanced over at Clafin giving her one last glare.

"Well then. Nice to meet you Bliss Lovel." Thomas said smoothly.
"Well, Im Harry's neice and Thomas is Ron and Hermione's son." Clafin said quietly.
"Oh, and we aren't exactly what I'd call friends." he added on harshly as he glared at Clafin. She looked over at Thomas in surprised. That was the first time he'd said that to anybody since their fight during the summer...or at least she thought it was the first time.

Clafin said nothing but nodded her head in response to Bliss. She still couldn't believe Thomas' harsh reaction. She'd never heard or seen him be so rude.

"Well, some people are just better than others...in many ways." he said sounded very conceited. He continued to glare at Clafin, who lowered her head and looked toward the ground. "I don't think that security is letting up at all. In fact, I think it the Head-Mistress' way of letting people have a bit more fun in the moth-eaten land." he added.

Clafin couldn't stand it anymore, tears began to fall down her cheeks. She pulled her hood down further, so that her face was hidden. She couldn't just stay there and listen to Thomas anymore. She turned and walked into the dark of the forest. Minutes later she found herself at the lakes edge.

Thomas laughed at Bliss as she ran off to find the hair-brained Clafin. He never understood why people seemed to like her so much. It was probably because she was so short that it made her seem innocent. He sighed and walked after Bliss. He figured that she was trying to find Clafin, so he headed straight towards the lake. He saw Clafin's silhouette in the distance, but stayed where he was. Bliss hadn't made it here yet, which probably meant she'd gotten lost in the woods. He cursed to himself loudly and headed back into the woods to find her. "Bliss?" he called out as he stopped running and listened for a response. "Bliss? Where are you?" he continued.

Thomas stopped running and listened silently to see if he could hear Bliss. He cocked his head to its side in effort to hear better.

Nothing. There was silence all around him. It was unnatural. There had to be something evil lurking about the forest. All of his sense shut down. He was normal.

"Bliss?" he called out once more. "C'mon. Where are you? This isn't funny anymore!" he continued. He was began to grow annoyed. He continued to walk. He'd gone about ten yards when he heard Bliss falling over. He walked towards the noise.

"Bliss? Is that you? Can you stop playing games?" Thomas pleaded into the pitch black of the forest. He couldn't see or hear anything like he normally could. He couldn't figure out what was wrong with him.

"thomas.." she pleaded as the shadow got closer to her.
"Clafin, someone i know." she said tears ruching down her cheeks.
"if yall are playing games you got me now knock it off." she insisted running into a tree. there was something on it she felt the clear slime.
"ew!" she sccreamed.
"whats going on." she whispered to herself. She whiped away her tears but the continued to flow down her cheaks. She took short shallow breath unable to calm herself.
"back up i have a weapon!" she yelled pulling out a fake wand from her pocket. the thing keeped comeing closer the breathing of the monster was was long and sharp it almost stung her to listen to it.

Thomas listened silenty in hopes of hearing Bliss. Finally he heard her voice. He started walking towards it. "Bliss, is that you?" he asked loudly. His voice boomed around the forest surrounding him. The trees shook and sleeping birds awoke and flew into the night sky. Thomas searched for a clearing and pulled out his wand. "Lumos" he whispered slowly. The tip of his wand dimly lit the forest. He continued to walk towards the direction Bliss' voice had come from. "Bliss? You still here? Bliss?" he asked loudly once more. He took a few more steps and saw her holding out a wand.

"Thomas?" she asked turning around to see him. Bliss quickly ran up to him landing in his arms.
"oh my gosh this may be a first but i am so glad to see you." she said still breathing unsteadiely. The creature had vanashed out of thin air once Thomas had gotten there it had all been quite odd.
"did you find her?" she asked him with a smile.
"Clafin that is." she tried to clear it up.
"can you take me to her?" she asked him calmer.

Thomas almost fell from the surprise of Bliss' embrace. He got himself together and pulled her off of him. He didn't exactly like physical contact, and he was already interested in someone. He didn't want to lead this girl on.

"Yes, of course I found her. She's by the lake." he said smoothly. He looked down at Bliss, unsure if he should ask his next question. He suddenly felt very squirmish, which was a new feeling to him...as a vampire anyways.


"As a Werewolf, you have special...powers. Don't you?" he asked as he looked up into the starry night sky. He tried to make it sound like a regular question, without even a hint of urgency. He was scared that his powers weren't working.

"i'm not a werewolf." she insisted her smile disapeering.
"so that would be a no." she told him angerly. she hated being known as a werewolf she knew it was true but she kept denying it.
i'm not a werewolf she kept telling herself.
"so drop it." she told him turning around and started heading to were she thought the lake was.
"wich way is the lake?" she asked not sure wich way was wich anymore.

Thomas looked at her in confusion. He didn't understand why she was denying the obvious fact that she was a Werewolf. "I'd rather not drop it. Why won't you just admit it? There's nothing that bad about being a Werewolf. I'd rather be one of those instead of a Vampire. At least you have a choice in what you are most of the time." Thomas said coldly. He couldn't stand it when people took good thing for granted. He turned on his heel and pointed through the trees. "The lakes this way. I'd say about 100 yards or so." he added calmly.

" the thing is i am not one of THOSE THINGS." she told him heading in the direction that he pointed out.
"i do not turn into some flee biten mongroul who is related to the comon house hold pet." she told him and she started running in the direction of the lake. she soon reached it and saw Clafin.
"are you alright?" she asked sitting besides her. Bliss looked at her waiting for a response. talking to someone else got rid of the need to talk about her being a werewolf and made her feel alot better then she was talking to Thomas.

Thomas looked on in confusion as Bliss ran into the forest. That girl has a serious mental issue. She's denying everything that she is. It makes no sense. he thought to himself as he began to walk. He weaved his way through the forest toward the lake. As he got to the edge of the dark mass of trees, he looked onto the horizon to find Bliss and Clafin sitting by the lake.

Clafin wiped her tears and looked up at Bliss as she walked over. She moved her face so she was looking at the ground. She suddenly got very embarrassed and the color in her cheeks burnt bright. She looked down at her sleeve to see that it was covered in mascara and eyeliner. Greattt. Clafin thought. She reached her hand up and used her finger to try to neaten her makeup just a bit. She then turned and looked towards Bliss, to see that she'd sat down next to her. Clafin wasn't sure if Bliss had asked a question. She looked at her in confusion. "Errr. Yeah?" she said as she hoped she hadn't just replied to a ridiculous question.

"are you sure because masscara stains on a sweater" Bliss said looking down at her sleves.
"but if your fine then you should tell me what was wrong." she said with a smile.
"it cant possibly be much worse then all the embarrassing things you know about me." she
said trying to comfort her.
"so tell me whats going on between you and Thomas friends were more then just friends
fight..." she said listing a few possibilieties off the top of her head.

Clafin looked at Bliss in surprise and then began laughing loudly. "You think Thomas and I dated?!" she manage to get out in between shake of laughter. "That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!" she added on as her voice grew even louder. She blushed as she realized that she was screaming at the top of her lungs. She looked around, praying that nobody had heard. "You've got it all wrong. Thomas is mad at me for a few reasons. First, its my fault for him being changed into a vampire. Second, I left for the entire summer to try to find my parent and didn't invite him along. Really, he's being extremely immature and temper-mental." she stated, trying not to allow her voice quiver. Thomas walked up behind them and Clafin stopped talking.

Clafin looked at Bliss in amusement. "I've already told you. I have a boyfriend, Luke." she said with a warm smile. "Besides I'm to 'innocent' for Thomas." she added on in a hurt tone as she glanced back at him. She stood and held her hand out to help Bliss up.

Thomas snarled before turning and walking off. He needed to go talk to someone who understood him. The only problem was, he didn't know who that someone was.

Thomas rolled his eyes as he realized that Bliss was walking besides him. "There is nothing. She is just an annoying mortal." she hissed. He spun and looked at Bliss in the eyes. "Is there anything else you'd like to kn-" he cut himself off and whipped his head towards the forest. He grabbed Bliss' hand and threw her over his back. He was to Clafin's side in seconds. He dropped Bliss onto the floor and went towards the dark trees towering over them.

Clafin looked up in surprise as there was a small thud next to her and Bliss was there besides her. Her jaw dropped as she let out a gasp. "What's going on?" she asked as her voice shook with fear.

THomas walked to the edge of the forest, where he had seen a pair of yellow eyes glowing just seconds before his arrival. "I know that you are out her spmewhere. There really is no point in hiding." he hissed cooly into the darkness. "You can either show yourself, or be forced to. Either way it doesn't matter to me. I haven't hunted in a while." he added on. He kept his voice calm but demanding. He turned and looked towards the two silhouettes standing near the glistening lake. He didn't want either of them to get hurt, so he wasnt about to let it happen right under his nose.

*Please fix the post. They have to be five or more lines, they are to be written right, and they have to be CAPTAILIZED in the right places, it's not that hard to do so. Next time, I'm just going to report every post, just prove I will do it.*
